98 A Non-Host's Anger 1

Clarissa opened her eyes. It was still nighttime and she had just teleported out of the barrier. The place seemed to be a rice field.

She was in the middle of a long stretch of bluish-dark green, a wooden construct was on her left side. In front, she saw the source of the voice that greeted her. Since she already had quite a grasp of what happened to her, her heart grew cold and she ultimately stepped back once.

"Leo Jones..."

It had already been several days since she knew who he was. But this was the first time she called out his name. For the past few days, she kept on calling him a lunatic stalker, or any bad names. She was that p.i.s.sed off by him. Of course, she suspected that her emotions, though not totally controlled, was amplified by his skills to an abnormal level.

"Yup! Congratulations on surviving, hahaha! Actually, I've been watching ever since that girl arrived, and I'm very impressed and happy that she managed to push you into a corner! I'm expecting your necklace to summon your Original. Sadly, it teleported you out of the city. Tch! Tch!"

The girl warily stared at the lunatic boy. She didn't reply as she was preoccupied thinking of how to get out of there alive.

The kid, Leo, seemed to have noticed her reaction so he laughed and inquired, "Hey, why are you suddenly being so cautious of me? Aren't capturing me and torturing me to death your greatest goal for this week? Eh, don't tell me you already gave up?"

"Why do you target me, you d.a.m.n scoundrel!?" Clarissa asked with clenched teeth.

The one asked merely shrugged. "Do I need any reason? Hey, it's as if you don't know that immoral hosts are unreasonable, whimsical, and crazy bunch of people! Hahahaha! What more reason do I need aside from I got issued a 'Pester A Host To Death' mission and you happened to be the one closest to my location? Wait, I already told you this before? Why do you keep asking?"

Clarissa didn't answer. She also didn't step back anymore. She was busy keeping her emotions in check because she noticed that extreme agitation was rising within her. When she mused herself why... she trembled in anger and gritted her teeth again.

'He wants me to despair so much to the point of having no choice but send an SOS message! He wants me to ask for help? d.a.m.n him!'

'His target is not me!'

Her expression showed him her hate and inner struggles. Due to this, he became intrigued, then he realized that she must have finally discovered what he did to her.

Here was an eerily quiet place. Sometimes the wind would pa.s.s to sway the blades of gla.s.s and rice stalks. A natural melody would then be created. Nonetheless, this already creepy sereness was successfully worsened by the boy's sudden crazy and hearty laughter!

Clarissa's face darkened, "You said one time that you hate people like me. So you really want to kill me?"

To this question, all he answered was, "Hahaha, why ask?"

The boy's face showed disdain and Clarissa had seemingly heard him adding 'the obvious?' in the end.

He didn't talk about it anymore and instead said, "You discovered it already right? I mean, that ability. I didn't expect you to know about it because you're still one level away from accessing the skill shop! But it proves that your Original is at the same level as me! Hahaha, our fight will surely be very awesome! I'm looking forward to it! Hey, why don't you just tell me her name? What's so hard about it? You look so resign to your death already! Why are you people so devoted to your Originals? Hateful! I don't like it!"

She laughed, "You keep trying to force me to say her name. Now, I'm guessing your mission is to pester an original host. Why don't you just switch target? How about Sofony Mendez?"

"I'd love to! But hey, who asked you to be the first host I'd see? Now, even if I change target, rewards will be halved. My chain quests are already all about you!" he pouted as if he was the one wronged here.

Clarissa almost couldn't stop losing her temper again.

She really wanted to kill this Leo brat!

The kid was purposely angering her to make her do something out of character!

"Sadly, your Original didn't show up. It's annoying but it seems there's nothing I can do but continue baiting her out through you. Sighs. Now, I have no choice but let go of you. You should be thankful for this! Because of me, you'll live much longer! It's me who lets you continue fighting with that beautiful Missy! See my kindness? I'll just continue watching from afar and will only pester you from time to time. Geez, it's hard to be a stalker!"

"You won't be killing me today?" she asked. There was no hint of relief or whatsoever in her face. Instead, she looked humiliated, used and underestimated. She didn't like it. She especially disliked how he was trying so hard to anger her and agitate her to death.

With a sharp glint on her eyes, she thought, 'If you think I'll really dance to your tune until the end, you're wrong! I might be weaker than you. But even if you make me live longer, no matter how many days pa.s.s, you'll step on my dead body but you still won't hear anything about her from me!'

Leo didn't answer her and only smiled, lunatically.

A second later, the laughing boy waved a hand at her and teleported away.

And she was left there, balling her fist in anger and desolation.

Tonight, she experienced so much. She lost two battles and lost one of the most important things in her life.

With hate once more filling her eyes, under the crescent moon and countless stars, she vowed, 'I'll make you pay dearly someday, Leo Jones!'

'And you, Sofony Mendez, if I don't wipe out those three people you cherish, then I'm not Alina City's Queen of the Underworld!'

She had taken more than ten minutes to pacify her emotions. After that, she started walking towards the main road, a screen portraying a map floating in front of her eyes. Unbeknownst to her, once she goes back to Alina, she would not only be hunted by the teleporter kid.

Though actually, even if she knows, she wouldn't be that bothered as she was still a powerful Level 4 Secondary Host.

She's the type of person who could do anything to gain points necessary for revenge.

.....

At the rooftop of Alpha Building, a commercial center five minutes away from West Alina Branch's police station.

Chris Meyer tugged one last time using both of his hands and finally raised the stupid girl hanging beyond the railing. At last, he managed, with great difficulty, to bring her back to the rooftop!

'b.a.s.t.a.r.d!' he swore as the force threw him lying on his back to the floor. The girl landed next to him, face planted on the cement ground.

However, the reason he swore was that after three seconds of crying due to pain, she still managed to get up! Her movements were robotic and stiff, and her eyes were lacking focus!

Despite this, she stood up, and slowly turned around, again! Yes, it was already the second time! She once again tried to climb the fence and threw herself to the air!

"Wendy Gomez just snapped out of it!" He angrily stood up too. He was already tired because pulling her up was already a ch.o.r.e, yet the first time he stopped her from jumping off, she strongly resisted. Her strength back then caught him off guard and had also almost caused him to slip down with her.

This time he also went after her again. Lesson learned, he put all his strength on his arms and legs as he grabbed her hand and pulled her to his direction. He yanked her arms again and pinned them on her back!

"Dammit! System! Do something! Send SOS to that best friend of her! Just do anything to tell her that this stupid girl is suddenly trying to commit suicide!"

"Do it fast!"
