216 The Organization 1

This morning, Chris showed him that he could really recover to his peak health in an instant. Not only that, according to him, Aura and Diaz, her two bodyguards, had been mind-controlled into thinking that he never had injuries in the first place.

His mysteriousness did not merely originate from what he knew through his hacking skill, nor the enemies he was fighting. Things cut straight out of sci-fi movies were the real reasons!

Most likely, the only good news from this morning was that he was willing to try out a relations.h.i.+p with her!

How stupidly happy and ecstatic she was back then.

She bet she earned her first minus point from him with her weird grin that graced her face from time to time, especially when they had that short walk around.

Okay, back to the shocking topics.

The next thing which shook slightly the heck out her mind was Gio Albarez' appearance.

In the past years, this man's enigmatic disappearance had been the subject of so many conspiracy theories. After all, the condo he used to live in got caught in a fire. Many a.s.sumed that he was already dead. Only, the Silver's princess kept denying that fact which gave birth to many ridiculous and out-of-this-world conspiracies and guesses.

Actually, even Alessa believed Gio Albarez already died. So her disbelief could be justified when the famous man showed himself before them.

Yet, she never knew that him being alive was just a minor matter when compared to the real mind-blowing matters.

When they got invited into this rich and influential man's abode, and saw two people appearing out of thin air there, that was when Alessa asked herself, 'h.e.l.lo, am I still on earth?' She almost thought she was simply not in her original dimension anymore.

Chris' mind-controlling of the butler and maids inside the chateau solidified this claim.

See? In a luxurious and extremely high-end place like this, there was just no way the housekeepers inside or the guards outside would let suspicious strangers not introduced by the owner set a foot in.

Take note, this high-end chateau belonged to none other than that man. The security should be at least ten times that of any normal billionaire's house, right? Maybe even comparable to those palatial residences that were home to country leaders?

Barging in without permission or introduction from the owner should be impossible, right?

However, to her surprise and puzzlement, no one obstructed them.

In fact, everybody there turned respectful. And that itself was quite disturbing.

But of course, a second later, realizing it was Chris who did it, courtesy of her being informed of his mental ability, she tossed the weirdness out of her mind and felt astonishment on what he could do.

'Amazing...'

'If he would only talk more, he'd be more than perfect. Right now, he's only perfect...'

If Chris heard what was on her mind, he would surely become speechless, wondering how many loose screws fell off her head today.

The elderlies' saying was true. Women in love were simply brain-dead.

Or perhaps, the woman just had more enough of what it takes to easily accept things that no normal people would find easy to be able to.

The two were led into the living room. After they took their seats, a butler came forward to ask them what snacks and drinks they want while waiting for the master of the place who was busy catching up with his woman outside.

...

Nightfall came. A few hours ago, the man Sofony had been looking for so long merely had the butler looked out for them and then let them do everything they want.

To pa.s.s the few hours before dinner, the butler offered to tour them around the house. Since both Alessa and Chris had nothing to do, they agreed and then let the proud middle-aged man widen their horizons of what the two words filthy rich truly meant.

Both people did not give the old housekeeper the kind of amazement expected from them though.

One was the Second Young Miss of one of the three great families of Country F, who had still lived in a mansion only a level inferior to this one in her earlier years. Her current line of work also sometimes introduces her to socialite or aristocratic roles.

One time she had experienced filming in a Baroque-style mansion filled with innumerable antiques and precious ornaments. It overflowed with elegance and every inch of the residence screamed history and money.

In short, it was not Alessa's first time being in a luxurious, cla.s.sy, sophisticated, and gigantic house like this.

On the other hand, Chris was a half-host. What was more amazing than magic-like abilities and items that no wealth from earth would be able to reproduce?

If people like him were after riches, it would be easy as pie to search for a billionaire to trick of his properties and money.

In a sense, that was what hypnosis and mind-control was for, right? And that was merely the lowest tier of abilities people like them possessed.

If his and Sofony's guess were correct, the other system users had done this to make their lives easier in the earlier phase of their immoral journey.

Sofony's case was almost the same, except her ident.i.ty and money was gifted to her by the owner of this chateau instead of having cheated them from money-loaded people using her Hypnosis.

After the hour long tour, dinner came. Without Gio's hospitality.

Chris' face turned weird at first, but later on accepted that those two wouldn't want to waste even a single minute of their lives on Alessa and him.

The meal was very sumptuous and the hazel-eyed woman's chattiness warmed the s.p.a.cious dinner hall. In that split-second, Chris thought that maybe, the two of them being left to their own was better than anything else.

At least, it would be much better than facing shameless lovers making out over the table. That sight would surely make him ruin his own eyes.

...

It was almost midnight when the woman barged into the room a.s.signed to Chris and prompted him to stare at her with dead fish eyes.

"Why are you here?"

He rubbed his eyes off in hopes that would help him sober up his sleepy mind a bit. When he got his upper body off the bed, he felt so thankful that he had at least a s.h.i.+rt and pajama on.

"I can't sleep..." The woman gingerly replied.

The man felt grateful for her not wearing anything that would provoke anyone's inner demons. She was in a simple pajama sets, the material thick enough not to let any eyes see through the fabric.

She brought a pillow with her and had hugged it when she laid her body sideways on the sofa parallel to the bed. That further helped hide her curves away. Added to the fact that his eyes were blurry anyways.

Shortly, her brows furrowed and lips pouted.

"It's unfair. Why does your room has a nice soundproofing while mine's so faulty?"

"What's the matter?" Maybe Chris' mind was just not so alive yet because all he could think of was 'Of course I'd have a nicer soundproofing due to the system.'

Then the words she said next automatically made some black lines appear on the man's face, fully returning his consciousness to his body.

"I can't sleep... Because they're too loud!"

"Huh?"

She repeated, "It's so annoyingly loud!"

"..."

"I'm telling you, if you walk out of this room even for a second, you'll immediately hear them! It's so hateful! I tried to fall asleep and endured that for a full t-two hours! I-I only did because I want to sleep! But who would be able to sleep that way!?"

While one of them blushed hard and ended up hiding her face using the pillow, the other had his expression darkened to the extreme.

Chris didn't know what to say afterward.

He felt that it was amazing how she essentially confessed listening, and perhaps, studying what kind of sounds two shameless people let out when making love.

This hopeless woman...

He shook his head and gave her a half-pitying half-disdainful glance. When Alessa caught sight of it, she already knew this guy was internally lamenting for her IQ.

"You should have just blasted your room with cla.s.sical or instrumental music."

"... I'm not so stupid yet to not have thought of that. I did. But even my earphone lost to them."

"... I seriously think that we should not talk about them."

She thought for a moment and got up. "I've been meaning to inquire you about these but I just couldn't bring up the topics with unfamiliar people monitoring us."

The sparkle in her hazel eyes had spoken enough of her intention to make him stay up late tonight. Hence, he sighed and climbed out of the bed and headed barefooted towards the refrigerator just six yards from Alessa's position.

The woman watched him get them refreshments from there while saying, "My first question is, is Miss Silver the same as you? Someone who can do miraculous things?"

His silent nod as he handed her a carton box of soya milk served as his confirmation.

With seriousness, he warned, "Don't annoy her. You'll die. Your sister is only alive because she allowed it."

He didn't add the part where even he had the ability to finish Amelia Morgan off if only Sofony didn't warn him before to not do that. It was not important anyway. Who knows if that woman still planned to continue with whatever game she was playing with the First Miss of the Morgans?

Alessa only nodded. She then asked, "What about Mr. Albarez? He answered your weird question in an equally puzzling way. I am mentioned. But how did I become similar to him?"

'He thought you are my non-host supporter...'

Chris evaded her stares. "Who knows? Might be that despite being half, you're still a high-born like him."

She laughed. "What half and high-born? If you used your acting skills and said that then, I would have been fooled. But now, I'm a.s.suming it's a relations.h.i.+p like what he actually have with Miss Silver."

The half-host went silent. The woman felt his awkwardness hence she wrinkled her nose then switched to another question.

"How about that sudden appearance? And that... tortured man?"

"... Someone from a hostile organization of this empire. They most likely hate the presence of outsiders like me and that woman. It's just that they didn't know that while I can be easily killed, that woman is not."

"She's both my boss and ally. They're fools for ambus.h.i.+ng her."

The woman saw that the owner of Starlight already had a lover. Still, she didn't like the man mentioning her. Must be jealousy? She knew and acknowledged that it was normal. But at the same time, it did make her heart look so ugly and unsightly.

It was because jealousy meant one really wants to monopolize someone and not let them have contact with somebody or all members of the opposite s.e.x. Sometimes it even extends to even friends or family members.

Jealousy also has its own merits as it could potentially test one's feeling for another. Nonetheless, this was a double-edged sword which could make or break a relations.h.i.+p.

To stop all the random thoughts, she asked a question again.

"By the way... I would just want to know. Are you really okay to tell all these to me?"

The man sat back to his bed and irritatedly replied, "Maybe you should just go back to your room. This is still a man's place, if you forgot."

The one scolded merely made face and didn't move. "I said I don't want to hear them again!"

"Throw something heavy at their door then."

"Didn't you warn me against angering Miss Silver?"

The man rubbed the spot between his brows like he was having an intense headache. If not for realizing how stupid and inconsiderate the thought was, he would have already suggested to mind control this woman to sleep.

The two of them had a staring contest for almost five minutes. It was of course Alessa who looked away first, saying.

"Let me stay here, please. This sofa bed is enough for me. I'm quite short and skinny so I'll fit here just fine. I won't a.s.sault you."

"Fake. Acting. Conscience play?" Chris subconsciously blurted out.

Alessa gave him a reproachful glance. For the very first time she felt wronged that she was a known actress and that he could see through lies and performances.

'Still, why can't he pretend to be a fool once? Last time when I said I got hurt by his grip he took the bait. So unfair!'
