270 Bathory 3

As the red-haired n.o.ble lady began to unravel a part of the mysteries surrounding the enigmatic being of their lives, two people perked up their ears and even had their AIs record everything she says.

Sofony had long switched off the livestream. Normal people hearing everything was not a problem, the main brain would surely erase their memories. But immoral hosts hearing it was another matter altogether. There was no way she would allow those unknown people to benefit from something she practically traded her precious life for!

Sofony listened intently, but she didn't forget to take note mentally of Bathory calling herself The Virgin Queen Erzebeth Tudor. The Countess also called her the Princess of the East. If an opportunity was given, she would take that to clarify the latter and confirmed the level of the organization's leader.

Meanwhile, a smile graced the n.o.ble lady's blood-red lips, aware of what they did in secret but not really minding their actions.

"There are all sorts of stupid people in the world. Within our ranks, there are rational people like you who keep their heads and sanity but in order to do that, they diverted their craziness to discovering the secrets and origin of the system. They are the ones who made the theory of five hundred. Through history, they managed to piece out how only every five hundred years would there be several breakouts of huge events centering around wars and all sorts of immoral crimes. Those events were 99.9 percent sparked by our kind."

"... If every five hundred years there are one thousand immoral hosts, what happened to those from the previous generations? Since each of us has our own AIs and could access the interface, does it mean, it stays the same even after the five hundred year period is up?" Sofony asked after realizing one of the problems in the mentioned set up.

Bathory held her cup and lightly shook it before bringing it near her lips. "There could only be one thousand immoral hosts. But there's no telling exactly how many system users are there in this world. Take me for an example. Both my fake and real legends are from the previous five hundred year period, aren't they? It means we can access the system but we don't have a stupid devil in our heads anymore. However, I'm just from the previous generation. Who knows how many previous generations are there since the beginning of the immoral system? How many like me exist together with the current batch? Ho ho, I don't have the answer to that."

After listening to the information shared, Sofony silently concluded, 'In short, the world is more dangerous than we think... While we're acting like the world belong to us, old freaks hiding in the shadows are laughing at us, making fun of our actions.'

She thought for a moment before commenting, "Five hundred years is so long. Those who survived will surely be high leveled."

"Correct. At least people from your generation will think we are monsters. But, if I'm not mistaken, someone among you is already Level 7. But who knows if he can still advance. There are cases like that. Even if you can survive till the end, if you don't have the apt.i.tude and luck to level up, you'll be stuck to where you are. One example of that is the Leader of this organization. If not for people like us being too merciful, he would have long died. He's a cute fellow, thinking that he's only a level inferior to me because he doesn't have enough time."

Bathory shook her head and mockingly grinned, "Those who don't have talent sure always look for things to blame. If his reason is true then how come your country's king manage to do it? The guardian of this region became one of us ten years before the end of the millennium, overtaking that Mao fellow who's been alive for a hundred years."

'Mao fellow? That revolutionary leader of this country who's born in the late 1800s?'

Sofony felt like the woman was teasing her with a scant amount of information, making her guess things out by herself. She loved doing this too to her subordinates but being led around a circle was not a nice experience for her. However, she was indeed thankful. With the clues given, she managed to confirm a few things.

'The enemy leader is at Level 8, and there's a huge chance the monster residing in my country is that fat doctor or that uncle of Gio.' Thinking of the latter, she almost couldn't help showing a hate-filled expression.

The butler by the side respectfully bowed and asked, "Milady, is the King of Country F the one dwelling at Southern Alina City?" Before being chosen to be bound by a lifeblood contract, an ability of the Countess, the butler was a full-fledged level 5 core member of the organization. 'He' knew that spies were regularly sent to that part of the city.

The Countess flashed a magnanimous smile. "Yeah. And actually, he's not unfamiliar to you, Miss Sofony. As a form of respect to him, I won't reveal who he is. After all, I'm sure given time, he'll do that by himself."

Sofony secretly gritted her teeth. Her options were really only those two. She lowered her teeth to hide her eyes that started to appear frosty and demanding of lives.
