Sofony bit her lip. The one thing she doesn't want for sure is to end up like that.

'Sorry, but I will not be sorry, Felicity.'

"Bored?"

Sofony was knocked out of her 'drowned in thoughts' state. It was this cafe's manager asking her. Probably the manager a.s.sumed she was bored and restless because she kept on staring at nowhere, sometimes roaming her eyes aimlessly to every table and customer.

"Ah, manager? No, I am not."

"You're obviously bored. Unfortunately, this old man can't allow my boss to do menial works."

"Y-you're not that old, and do not call me your boss." She said.

"The previous boss already transferred the cafe's owners.h.i.+p to you, you even signed it two days ago in my presence."

"I-It's just too surreal for me," she admitted. "I didn't know he would do that, I am just wanting a part-time."

The manager glanced at her playfully before leaving her. Sofony got embarra.s.sed but was also annoyed. Gio did all of this. He didn't say anything about the debt so Sofony still had no idea. However, he admitted he was actually the owner of the cafe and unceremoniously gave it to her.

"..."

Sofony cupped her face as she leaned on the counter. The staffs next to her didn't bother with her as they were busy with their work.

The system was actually correct as she didn't really explore much about the interface. That last menu made her feel lost though and always made her not take a look at it. However, since the system said she would be able to get more information about Gio on it, she reluctantly browsed it.

She didn't want to, but after a few minutes of reading, she kind of regretted doing so because the information on it was so detailed. Once again, the fear and complicated feelings for him that almost vanished after weeks of physical union instantly returned with a scale much greater than before...

She had to bow down to hide her ragged breathing.

'He's a military man before turning to business...'

' And his family is very complicated.'

'The stepmother killed his father by poisoning. She wanted all the riches for herself and her adultery partner.'

'He killed the stepmother, and it happened that first time we did that...in that hotel...'

Sofony almost collapsed from the shock. Fortunately, the chair she's taken had a backrest. Her hand subconsciously shook under the counter as all negative thoughts swam inside her head.

'He was drugged back then.'

'Then he... killed that someone before dragging me to his bed to vent the heat and l.u.s.t provoked by the drug...'

'Since then, I got bedded repeatedly by a killer... and every time we did the deed, I enjoyed it.'

'A killer is always doing me...in all sorts of position and places...every night?'

'And I always scream of pleasure because he never failed to make me feel like I reach the highest heaven...?'

'...I....no, I-I'm not....no, this, this isn't real...'

She remained still in her position with her face very white, like no blood course through her face. No one cared because n.o.body else noticed.

"...."

'...No, thanks.'

The shock was really very potent on her so Sofony just decided to not read anymore.

She rid of the system in her thoughts and pa.s.sed the time blankly staring at the ceiling or walls. Her colleagues threw her suspicious and odd looks. Many of them were aware she's now their boss so they didn't speak and just a.s.sumed that she's not used to not moving around.

One time, her eyes went to a table near the exit and recognized the person sitting there. It was a girl. A beautiful one. She was very familiar so she recognized her even though she could only see half of the girl's face.

'Felicity? That Felicity?'

'Is she waiting for someone?'

Sofony's face now regained color and was no longer as disoriented as before. She watched the person greet a good-looking boy who was quite familiar with her.

'Ah, he's the guy this morning.'

'I didn't know he's related to Felicity. But there are so many men involved with that girl. Probably this guy is also one of her various partners in bed.'

'This irritating mission, so the reason why it has a two months limit is that I will have to guess who among the debauched bunch is the real lover?'

Disdain and disgust suddenly affixed her face when she looked at the two. However, since the girl was a vital person for her main mission, she made sure to watch out.

She nudged the waiter who took their orders and pestered the manager to allow her to serve, saying the two were her acquaintances from school. Due to her pestering, the manager reluctantly relented but said it would be the only time she'd be allowed to do that.

This really made her wondered if she's really this place's new boss.

"Here's your order. Thanks for patiently waiting."

A pleasant voice interrupted their idle chat. Chris looked up only to get surprised. The waitress was a real surprise.

"Miss Sofony?" It was Felicity who asked. His childhood friend was also bewildered but later on laughed. "Haha, I forgot you're now working here."

"You two knew each other?"

Sofony finished laying down the coffee and snacks. With a warm and pleasant smile, "Miss Felicity is popular, of course, I know her. She's also a friend of Wendy. Wendy recently introduced her to me."

Felicity returned the smile. "That's right."

Sofony's eyes went to Chris. "h.e.l.lo, are you Miss Felicity's friend as well?" 'And bed-mate?' She didn't voice out the last part.

Felicity yelped as if she just forgot a very basic thing. "Sorry, my mistake. Let me introduce you Chris Meyer, my best friend. And Chris, this is my new friend Sofony. She works here."

'Best friend...' Sofony seemed to see the hurt in the handsome boy's eyes.

Sofony's gaze was still on him as she nodded, a smile never left her lips. "Nice to meet you."

"Same here," he replied with a polite smile. Actually, he already knew the girl because she's also a recent sensation at school.

Sofony didn't leave immediately. She asked, "Did I forget anything? Hopefully no missing order?"

Chris' eyes didn't stray away from the new girl while her beloved childhood friend was checking if everything was already here. Felicity was the one who knew what she ordered, after all.

Sofony was not aware before, but she had grown so beautiful due to the system's enhancement of her physique and appearance. The system said her tools got enhanced but she a.s.sumed only that part was changed. In reality, her skin turned much fairer and smoother than most celebrities.

She's already good looking before, just leave out the thick frames. But now, she's improved much more. Felicity was also beautiful, but when next to Sofony, even Chris who was in love with Felicity had no choice but admit that the nerdy G.o.ddess' face really deserved more applause.

'This girl has an aura of maturity with her.'

He thought this was probably due to having to work earlier than other people her age.

"All's good!" Felicity chimed.

With a last polite smile, the nerdy beauty retreated and went back to probably tend to other customers.

"Admirable, right?"

"Quite so."

"She's smart, beautiful, charismatic, nerdy, gentle, and hardworking. Both she and her best friend are girls I didn't think even exist until I met them."

"Nerdy is not really a compliment, but for the rest, I also think so."

"Falling in love with Miss Sofony already? You'll have many compet.i.tors. She now has a fan club," teased Felicity.

Chris withdrew his gaze from the other girl and met Felicity's . When he heard the word love, he was badly startled. He badly wanted to say it's impossible because his heart was already with her. It was really painful having to restrain himself from saying it.

'Just why can't I say how in love I am with you.'

He was saddened and angered at remembering their situation.

"I don't fall in love at first sight." He said in a low voice.

Fortunately, Felicity saw how to judge his mood. He was looking away. Face serious. Felicity knew her 'childhood friend' was not in a good mood.

As they finished what's on their table, silence mainly reigned. Felicity from time to time talk. Chris didn't leave because even though he was really depressed, he knew the girl before him was much more hurt. He had to stay. Even if he's really feeling empty and lost.

Loving someone who already belongs to someone else was really tragic.
