Chapter 297 - Mommy Prefers Cute Over Handsome

"Little s.h.i.+n, stay with your mom." Sei said as he looked towards his little son meaningfully before he strode towards the door in a flash, as though he was showing his son that he couldn't compete with him yet.

"Wait. I'm really alrig---" Before Davi could even finish her statement, Sei already left the room, leaving her without a choice but to sigh. She then moved to leave the bed when Little s.h.i.+n returned to her.

Looking at him, Davi's eyes widened and she stooped in her tracks as she looked at her son. It was because Little s.h.i.+n's face looked so disappointed, as though he just lost an important battle.

"Mommy… I'm sorry I'm not being useful. But don't worry, I will grow up fast and have long legs too like dad so I can run fast! I'll be even faster than him and be a big help to you." The little guy said with a lot of wishful thinking as he pouted while his eyes were wandering around.

That moment, Davi's nose almost bled from the overflowing cuteness of her little prince.

'G.o.d… my baby is sooo cute when he pouts.' She could only scream within her before she knelt on the floor and embraced the adorably irresistible little bun as tight as she could. She couldn't believe that he was this adorable even though he looked dejected. At the same time, Davi was even in awe that Little s.h.i.+n actually felt defeated by his dad and was thinking he wasn't useful.

"What are you saying? You're already a big, big help to mommy just by staying here with me, so don't say sorry, okay? Little s.h.i.+n is like medicine to mommy's heart so don't ever say you're not being useful, you understand?" Davi a.s.sured Little s.h.i.+n as she gently rubbed her son's head. Hearing her words, little s.h.i.+n nodded and his grip on her tightened.

After a while, the little guy loosened up and his gloomy feeling seemed to finally dissipate. Davi then held his shoulders and made him look at her.

"Also, you don't have to be in a rush to grow up, okay?" She said and little s.h.i.+n slightly tilted his head.

"Why?" he curiously and innocently asked and Davi fell silent for a bit.

"Mm… b-because if you grow up fast… then, you will also quickly lose your cuteness. You will become just like your dad who isn't cute anymore. You'll become handsome instead." She answered. Well, Davi was simply spouting the first reason she could think of. She did not want her baby to grow up just yet. She wanted him to stay this cute and small a little bit longer.

"So, mommy prefers cute over handsome?" little s.h.i.+n asked expectantly and Davi flickered before she nodded like a rattle.

"So, mommy prefers the cute me over handsome dad?" Little s.h.i.+n continued and Davi's eyes widened a bit. The little guy looked at her with such intensity as though he was really eagerly antic.i.p.ating her answer, causing Davi to immediately give him her answer.

"Of course. I love my cute baby the most because Little s.h.i.+n is the cutest in the whole wide world." She replied and Little s.h.i.+n's mouth opened as the stars in his adorable eyes exploded one after another. He looked extremely ecstatic as he embraced his mother lovingly.

Meanwhile, the handsome and drop dead gorgeous man, who happened to hear Little s.h.i.+n's last question and Davi's heartfelt answer, remained rooted on the floor just beside the door. He was holding a gla.s.s of water in his hand as he gazed at the mother and son embracing before him. He knew that Davi's attention was no longer for him exclusively. However, witnessing himself being dethroned by his very own son from being Davi's most beloved somehow made him feel this tingling, sour feeling.

Gladly, the two finally separated so Sei walked towards them.

"I brought water. You should drink this." Sei said and the two raised their heads and looked at him before Davi slowly stood up.

"Thank you." She said gratefully before she gulped the water.

A little while later, Davi went to the bathroom, leaving the father and son sitting quietly on the sofa. They were silent and unmoving. They both had the same stoic expressions that would only change once their sun appeared. There was a ma.s.sive gap between them as though they were in a cold war. Sei was the first to break the silence.

"Little s.h.i.+n. I have something to tell you." Sei said and Little s.h.i.+n immediately turned his head towards his dad.

He could tell in one glance that his dad was serious so Little s.h.i.+n could only look at him intently as though he was telling him he was ready to listen.

"Let's go talk in the study." Sei said as he stood and Little s.h.i.+n could only crease his brows. However, he still obediently followed his father because he knew that he couldn't be stubborn when this father of his was this serious. At the same time, little s.h.i.+n was also curious about what his father wanted to tell him that they even had to go to another room to talk privately.
