Chapter 280 - Matching Black Masks

Sei thought about the conversation between he and his son and he couldn't help but feel proud. His son performed beyond his expectations.

"Sei, were you the one who taught him that line?" Zaki, who was the designated driver, asked and Sei glanced at him before replying.

"I just told him to try his best to make her come with us." Sei answered and the man inside the car chuckled.

"Pfft! Hey, Sei. Don't you think your son is a natural born Casanova? Do you realize that the pick up line of his and his choice of words were such a breath of fresh air? If he was not such a cute little child, anyone would think that he was trying to hit on her, asking her out for a romantic date or something." Zaki said as he laughed softly and as Sei contemplated the topic, he somehow felt like his son had indeed gone a bit overboard. He didn't expect him to call his mother 'lady' so naturally like that.

"…" Speechless, Sei's brows knotted a bit as he stared at his son.

Meanwhile, after talking with the adorably smart little child, the commander thought about approaching Sei when he received an emergency call, forcing him to leave and missing the opportunity to meet the most elusive man on Earth.

As soon as Little s.h.i.+n and Davi were left alone, Little s.h.i.+n faced his mother once again.

"Mommy, today is our school's family day. Here's the invitation." He said, looking at his mother with cute, big round eyes as though imploring her to come.

Davi knelt down. She took the invitation but instead of reading it, she embraced her son once again. She buried her face on her son's shoulder, holding him, inhaling his scent, afraid to let him go.

Looking at the mother and son, Sei felt some heaviness in his chest. He could see the guilt in her eyes. The guilt of leaving her dearest son for a long time.

Sei then stepped closer to them. He didn't want her to feel like this anymore. He wanted to tell her that there was no reason for her to carry the heavy burden. But, he understood her reaction. He understood that it was not easy to dispel the negative emotions she had been carrying over time. Thus, he didn't utter a word. He just raised his hand and gently placed it on her head, as though telling her that everything was alright now.

Davi felt the warm hand that was caressing her head. She didn't raise her head but the familiar warmth of his hand appeased her heart as though he was trying to share her pain. It was more than she felt she deserved.

"Mommy, are you alright?" Little s.h.i.+n suddenly said. It was because he felt that his mother seemed to be depressed.

"I'm sorry. Can you let me hug you a bit longer?" she asked. Her voice was so soft that little s.h.i.+n couldn't help but look at his dad.

Seeing his daddy encouraging him to comfort her, little s.h.i.+n raised his little hand and gently caressed his mother's back.

"Mm. You can hug me as long as you want, mom." The boy replied and Davi could only grip him as tight as she could.

After that, the family of three boarded in the car. Davi continued to hold on to her son, leaving Sei unable to do any moves on her at all. However, Sei didn't feel disheartened because his main plan for this day hadn't even started yet.

Time pa.s.sed and before they knew it, the three finally arrived at school.

For the family day event , the school required the parents to wear matching costumes with their child so everyone was there, wearing all kinds of colorful, funny getups and some even cosplayed some marvel characters. The event had already started when the Chen family arrived. Their presence caused everyone around to gasp and the crowd fell into a commotion.

"Oh my gosh? Who are they?"

"The only ones who haven't arrived yet was Little s.h.i.+n and his parents so I think it might be them."

"Really? Have you seen Little s.h.i.+n's parents before?"

"Nope, they have never come to school before."

"But anyway, look at those costumes. They look so cool and all three of them are mysteriously beautiful. G.o.d I want to see their faces."

"His parents look young, especially the mom. Even with those masks, I can already tell that they are d.a.m.n good looking. They are the little prince's parents after all."

The parents started murmuring, talking about the family who just arrived. The school wasn't informed about the arrival of Mr. Chen and they were even clueless about the kidnapping that happened yesterday. Moreover, they hadn't even realized that their student, Chen s.h.i.+nji, was actually the son of the infamous powerful tyc.o.o.n, Chen Seiji.

Sei, Davi and Little s.h.i.+n were wearing matching black masks. It was the same design as Sei's mask five years ago. The two men were wearing matching black and gray tailored suits while Davi was wearing an exquisite white dress. They looked exactly like an elegant royal family attending a masquerade party and everyone gazes were locked on them.
