Chapter 278 - My Name is s.h.i.+n

The mother and son were still engrossed in their loving conversation as Commander Yun arrived. His eyes instantly fell on the handsome man leaning on a luxurious car and he became obviously mystified. He had already been notified that a certain VIP had come to visit the base but he ignored it, believing that the person was just some ultra-rich fella who simply wanted to take a tour around the site.

'W-wasn't this the elusive legendary monster who shut down our military base as a child a decade ago?' the commander exclaimed inwardly as he looked at the beautiful man. He was dumbstruck that he was seeing the real deal now. Back then, Commander Yun was among the top agents whom the government had given the mission to capture the man with the codename 'monster' but they all failed miserably, not just once but countless times. The 'Monster' was elusive and mysterious, he was aware just what kind of monster this person was. Even after a decade, no one in the whole world managed to capture him. For someone like him who was among the decorated elite agents who tried but failed, this person was a completely untouchable monster, an invincible being in his eyes. Now, seeing this grown man standing right before him, he couldn't help but feel tremors going down his spine, even though he knew this man wasn't an enemy anymore.

When Davi noticed Commander Yun, she finally had to let little s.h.i.+n go as she stood up and saluted her commander.

Seeing this, the father and son looked at her with the same expression of admiration. There were stars in their eyes, looking at her with extraordinary pride and honor.

"Sergeant, I received word from headquarters. They are transferring you to the research department, effective today. You will be focusing on research and development from now on. Remember that you aren't just a military a.s.set but also a very valuable a.s.set to this country, so I hope you will continue exceeding your expectations." As the commander explained, Davi's eyes widened for a moment before she responded with a 'yes sir'. She knew there was no way she would be able to decline an order from headquarters.

Afterwards, the commander finally lowered his eyes and stared at the little boy beside her.

"Who is this young man?" He asked and Davi was about to reply when the boy introduced himself.

"h.e.l.lo commander, my name is s.h.i.+n." He said. His voice was loud as though he was trying to say it like he was also a soldier and the confidence he exhibited surprised everyone around him except of course, his dad.

"What a great young man you are. How old are you, Little s.h.i.+n?" The commander asked again, looking obviously fond of the young boy.

"I'm five-years-old," he replied. His gaze, the way he talked and behaved was very disciplined and confident that everyone had a hard time believing he was just five. However, looking at him and then across to the powerful man standing just a few steps across them, they suddenly remembered that this terrifying tyc.o.o.n had a little five-year-old prince whom the special forces just saved yesterday. The commander also heard that the boy wouldn't let go of his niece so he could only a.s.sume that the little boy was here to see her.

"So you're here to visit sergeant?" Commander Yun asked and for some reason, the boy glanced at the man nonchalantly leaning on his car, unmoving. After a second, he returned his gaze back towards the commander and he nodded.

"Commander, can I ask you to grant me a request?" The little boy asked and the man could only smile. 'Who would dare not grant a request from a prince of this caliber? Even the president wouldn't dare offend that man over there by rejecting his son's request, right?'

"Of course. State your request young man." The commander replied and the boy's eyes sparkled. He raised his little arm and held Davi's hand.

"Please let me take this lady out for a day." He said, with a voice determined and adorably manly. Everyone instantly fell silent as if a noisy crow just flew above them. They were speechless for a long time upon hearing an adorable little boy saying those words, while a certain man's lips momentarily curved with a triumphant smile, knowing his plans were falling into place.

Davi on the other hand, just stood there looking at the little boy the entire time. She was more than surprised at his eloquence that she too was lost for words. She blinked more than three times as she gazed at him until one of the soldiers standing behind the commander coughed, causing everyone to snapped back to reality.

"O-of course, of course. Actually, I was about to tell her to take a day off today. So if she's fine with it, you can have her for the day," the commander said and the little boy revealed the most dazzling smile, as if he was the suns.h.i.+ne warming up everyone's hearts.

Davi, who was gazing at him closely, couldn't help but feel like her knees were weakening. Her heart was like ice cream melting under the sun as soon as she saw her son's sweet and beautiful smile. She had the urge to squeeze this adorable little guy that made her heart go wild so she gave in to the impulse and hugged him tightly again.
