Chapter 268 - Great dilemma

Hours ago in Country X.

Zaki was in a great dilemma. He just received the news that Sei's wife was involved in a minor car accident which may have cause her to give birth earlier than expected. He knew that he should tell Sei but he was afraid. Afraid of what would happen to this man the moment he heard the news that his wife was hurt.

He remembered what happened when he told Sei about the news of his wife's pregnancy five months ago and he couldn't help but facepalm himself at the time. Breaking the news about Davi's pregnancy completely destroyed Sei's focus, turning his system into a real mess. The super computer was dramatically demoted into the lowest model of computer in existence, lagging heavily and freezing every now and then, making him useless for some time. At the time, Zaki thought that telling Sei this wonderful, magical news would motivate him to the highest degree but the complete opposite happened and he regretted making that decision down to his bone. The news didn't end up being helpful at all, instead, it became his greatest distraction which slowed down his mission equivalent to the speed of a snail. It was as though the majestic bullet train suddenly turned into an old horse cart in a blink of an eye, causing Zaki to want to hit him hard and say 'Giddiyap, horsey! Why are you going so slow?!'

Sei, at the time, was drowing in a pool of worry and he obviously wanted to rush back home to his beloved wife, though he never said it. He was aware that he would be putting her and their child in danger and this fact was the only thing that was stopping him from flying back. Zaki could only do his best to coax him out of this mental state. He spent a long time trying to make the man stop worrying about her and to return his focus back to his mission so that he would be able to go home before her delivery. However, his hard work almost didn't make any difference at all; at least, not until Zaki agreed to take a risk and let him see her on the condition that he was only to look from afar and not make contact with her as it was too risky to do so.

After troublesome and taxing preparations, they both made their way back to Country J despite the extreme danger. Zaki was troubled and anxious. However, the moment he saw Sei's reaction at seeing his wife, he could only chuckle deep within. He still remembered Sei's expression when he was watching her secretly inside the car. His wife was just stepping outside the hospital with Hinari and Haru by her side. A small baby b.u.mp was already showing on Davi's slight figure and Sei was like a little child, on the verge of tears clinging on the car's window. His face was almost flat on the window, as his eyes reflected an overflowing emotion of intense longing for her. Zaki even remembered Sei's priceless reaction where Sei gripped his shoulders with iron fists, saying the words, 'I… I'm a father now. My wife and I have a child now' over and over again like a broken record.

At that moment, Zaki could only tease Sei, saying he was allowed to cry if he wanted to. But too bad for him, Sei didn't shed a single tear. Zaki also cuffed him that time just in case he lost control and tried to approach her. But gladly, despite his extreme and uncontrollable emotion, Sei still managed to suppress himself since he knew he couldn't afford to put her and their child in danger. They both followed her, stalking her in the shadows for the whole day and somehow, Sei's mood gradually changed as he saw that his dearest wife was fine and happy. Her smiles and healthy complexion soothed the extreme worry within Sei's heart.

Zaki was also very glad to see that the broken computer was slowly fixing itself back to its usual glory.

Zaki told Sei that she was very healthy and that his grandfather was watching her closely on the sidelines. However, the man still demanded for Zaki to deploy a hundred of the best and most trusted nurses to a.s.sist and take care of her 24/7, causing Zaki's head to ache badly. But in the end, he only agreed with thim so they could finally get back to their mission.

It took almost two months for Sei to completely regain his 100% focus back to his mission. And those two months were quite painful for all of them because every now and then, Sei would suddenly fall into a daze even when they were in the middle of their mission. Because of this, the estimate of a five-month time span to finish the mission, increased dramatically.

That was why, at this moment, Zaki was fighting a great war within himself of whether or not to tell Sei about the news, especially now that they were so close to the end. He made sure that nothing serious happened to her, but Davi giving birth earlier than expected was a real problem. It was because he knew that Sei had been working beyond his limit to make it back on the day of her delivery.
