Chapter 99 - This adorable little thing is at it again

In the kitchen, Davi and the two young boys were cooking happily while a certain man was left sitting on the couch. When he heard their laugher, he stood up and walked towards the kitchen, curious. He then leaned quietly on the kitchen's door frame and just watched them.

Davi immediately felt his piercing gaze so she knew he must be close. She turned her head and she was right. The man's face was blank but the moment she looked at his dazzling eyes, she didn't know how but he just turned into an abandoned, adorable, little beast in her eyes, causing her to immediately walk towards him.

"Wanna join us?" she asked hesitantly. The man instantly nodded, causing Davi to be a bit taken aback. Well, she was kind of joking when she asked that question as she couldn't possibly ask this man, of all people, to help them cook. She just wanted him to sit there like a king but when she saw eagerness in his gorgeous eyes, she just didn't have the heart to say no.

"A-are you sure?"

"Yes."

Davi was shocked at the speed of his reply. So, she helped him roll his sleeves up before finally giving him his most awaited task. She gave him a wooden spatula and asked him to simply stir the soup.

Sei-er immediately nodded as his gaze was directed to the boiling pot.

At that moment, Davi and the two young boys all focused their gaze towards him as they waited for him to start his task. YiJin became unbelievably restless, as if he was about to witness something unimaginable.

Sei-er then carefully lifted his hand and started stirring the soup seriously, as though he was doing some scientific experiment. His stance wasn't relaxed at all that Davi couldn't help but chuckle.

She walked closer to him and she held his hand gently.

"Lower your arm, hold it like a pencil," she said as she kept smiling while the man just replied with a "Mn."

After Davi's instruction, the man finally relaxed a bit and as Davi watched him, she just couldn't help but feel the fluffiness again.

"Am I doing it right?" he then asked and Davi just nodded like a rattle.

"Mm… great job, you're doing well. But make sure that the spoon reaches the bottom, okay?" she replied and when he nodded she turned away and continued peeling potatoes, glancing at him every now and again.

Moments pa.s.sed by when YiJin suddenly sidled closer to her.

"Miss, the boss has never used any kitchen utensils before… are you sure this is fine? What if he gets burnt? What if he gets hurt?" he whispered worriedly.

"Stop worrying. He's still a grown man, okay? Besides, yours truly is here. I'll make sure he won't get hurt." Davi a.s.sured him as she patted the young man's shoulder. Hearing her a.s.surance caused YiJin to finally relax and he stepped back to continue his task.

Time pa.s.sed and the soup was ready so Davi told Sei to just sit and rest but he did not look pleased to be told to just sit and watch. But because it was an order from the wife, the obedient Sei-er could only gaze at the peeled potatoes, as if slicing them in his imagination.

Davi noticed the adorable beast quietly behaving, seemingly trying to suppress himself, even though his eager aura was wildly blazing out. Looking at him like that was just torture to her, causing her to finally gave in.

"Okay, do you want to slice the potatoes?"

"Yes."

Sei-er's instant reply almost made Davi burst out in laughter. The man looked like he was waiting for her to ask him all this time.

G.o.d, this adorable little thing is at it again.

Looking at his determined eyes, Davi then gave him a knife.

Sei-er immediately began the work. He started slicing the potatoes carefully and slowly as though the potatoes were some precious and fragile thing that was meant to be handled with the utmost care.

Time pa.s.sed by and Davi, becoming a bit impatient, finally started helping him slice the potatoes. It was because the man was slicing way too slow. He was like a curious G.o.d-turned-human who was trying his best to learn simple human activities for the first time ever.

Davi sliced the potatoes quickly, causing Sei-er's eyes to widen a bit, as amazement slowly flashed across his gorgeous eyes. After he watched her, something glittered in his eyes.

He gripped his knife and he started copying Davi's pace. Sei-er's sudden change of pace surprised Davi and at the same time, worried her.

"Slow down or you might get…" Davi couldn't continue her words because the moment Davi talked, the man looked at her before he stopped slicing.

Davi instantly s.h.i.+fted her gaze to his hands and when she saw blood coming out, she suddenly grabbed his hand and before the man could react, his thumb was already in his wife's mouth, sucking on the small cut on his thumb.

At that very moment, Sei-er felt like he was being struck by a thousand thunder bolts, all at once.
