Chapter 44 - Step #14

"Uhm… thank you."

Upon hearing her thanks, Sei nodded but he still didn't look away because the girl looked like she had something to say .

At that very moment, Davi instantly switched gears. Step nineteen's result wasn't clear so it may be a bit too early to execute it, however, Davi knew she could still take advantage of this situation to execute a different step from her mission plan.

Thus, she thought about step# 14.

'Step #14; Don't be too agreeable'

Davi remembered her friend's words about this particular trick. She said that most men don't find extremely agreeable women attractive. Possibly because they think such a person appeared boring to them and not challenging at all. Furthermore, Davi had always been a person who hated being an agreeable puppet, so she would say 'no' even to this man if she wanted to.

"Uh… I think I would prefer the maids to help me take a bath, after all," she said in a way that sounded a bit shy and mean at the same time. Well, part of it was punishment for him not showing her a clear reaction a while ago.

However, Sei remained unbothered. "Okay. Wait here and don't move. I'll call them," he said and walked out of the bathroom.

Later that day, Davi spent her time studying her books while Sei went out somewhere again.

By the time he arrived home, Davi was already preparing to go to sleep. She was deep in thought staring at the ceiling while she waited for him. She was thinking about what Sei's feelings could be towards her. In her eyes, their relations.h.i.+p was definitely improving. Sei, from the start, had always been good to her but lately, she felt like he was now starting to spoil her. Still, it appeared as though she still had a long way to go when it came to seducing him.

While she was deep in her thoughts, she didn't notice Sei come in the room. This gave the man a moment to observe the girl lying on the bed, lost in her own world. Without a word, he strode towards her with loud footsteps, making his presence known, to avoid startling her.

Noticing him, Davi instantly sat up. "Welcome home," she said softly as she turned to look at him.

Sei sat on the edge of the bed as he uttered a single sound. "Mm."

Minutes went by and the two were now lying quietly, around three inches away from each other. Davi could tell that Sei was having trouble going to sleep and for some reason, Davi was also having the same problem. The two bed lamps on either side of the bed were still casting a soft glow in the room and Sei was still wearing his mask. The silence was deafening, however, neither of them were uncomfortable with it.

"What were you thinking about?"

Unusually, Sei started talking. Upon hearing him, Davi was astounded and a bright smile carved on her face. Before she answered him, she rolled over and faced him.

"Hmm. I was wondering if I could ask you something. Can I?"

"Go ahead."

Davi's entire face lit up even more upon hearing his approval. Excitement and eagerness glowed in her eyes as she began to open her mouth.

"On… on a scale of 0 to 10, how much do you want to… I mean how much do you like me right now?" she asked and she held her breath as she waited for his answer.
