This altar was the place where all the sacrifices to the goblin G.o.d were performed in the past.

The goblin in front of the altar was a Level One monster just like the wolf king. He was currently anxious because they have not found a sacrifice yet.

As he was thinking about it, a goblin rushed towards him and got on its knee. "We have found a sacrifice, my lord."The goblin said respectfully to the goblin lord.

Hearing this, the goblin lord was overjoyed. This sacrifice was very important to him. He wanted to ask for a treasure which can evolve him into a second level monster while performing this sacrifice.

A second level monster was hundred times stronger than a level one monster. This goblin had been stuck at level One for a decade now.

It has finally decided to perform a sacrifice and ask the goblin G.o.d for a treasure which will let him reach level two.

Once he becomes a level two monster, he can subdue all the other goblin colonies in the area and establish his kingdom.

Then he would ama.s.s riches and start conquering other kingdoms until he ruled all the world.

This was his plan and he was sure it would come true if he reaches level two. Since the level three monsters rarely leave the dungeons and come to the secular world, he can roam free with his level two body.

He immediately followed the goblin to see the sacrifice. He had to check if the sacrifice was authentic or not.

As soon as he laid his eyes on Carnage, he knew she was the perfect sacrifice. But he still observed her carefully and only after finding that she really can be used as a sacrifice did he relax.

Even though Carnage was perfect to be a sacrifice, the goblin lord was not in a hurry to sacrifice the girl yet.

In order to maximise the probability of a higher reward from the sacrifice he waited patiently.

The reward from the G.o.ds depend on a lot of factors, First is that the higher the number of people watching the ceremony, the higher the grade of the reward.

This has something to do with showing the G.o.d's power to a larger crowd.

In simple words, if more people come to the ritual, more people would be able to see the power of the G.o.d. This in turn increases the people's faith in their G.o.d which would strengthen the G.o.d himself.

So higher the crowd watching the ceremony higher the rewards from the G.o.d. So the Level One Goblin sent messengers to other goblin colonies inviting them to attend the sacrificial ritual.

He then took out a strange pill he stole from a laboratory in the dungeon when he was still a young goblin.

Goblin were weak monsters and it was very tough for them to level up. This can be seen when you notice that there was only one level one goblin in this colony.

And that too was a very rare case, the only reason he could become a level one goblin was because he looted a laboratory when he was small and the pills in there allowed him to level up.

Out of all the pills he took from the laboratory the pill he was holding in his arms right now was the most precious. The whole laboratory had only one such pill.

The level one goblin had a bold speculation that the laboratory was created to create this pill.

This precious pill was called sample two thousand seven. Apparently they have tried to make this pill a lot of times and the only time they succeeded was on the two thousand seventh try.

That said the effect of pill was not as powerful to let monsters skip levels and reach higher levels. It had a basic use, and that was to let any monster who consumed the pill to transform into a human.

Since he wanted to maximise the rewards of the sacrifice, he planned to feed this pill to Carnage and make her a human.

A pure virgin human girl, the best sacrifice. He was sure that his G.o.d would bestow him with the treasure he required.

Sky slashed the last wolf following him harshly.

As soon as he felt his heart being gripped, he immediately discarded the wolves and started running in the direction in which his heart weakened with every step.

But the wolves have gone mad with all the blood and started chasing him, he had finally killed the last wolf that had chased him.

He did not stop after killing the wolf, he ran towards Mey's dead body. He only slowed down when her body came into his view.

He walked with tears as he saw Mey's dead body. He slowly took her into his arms and hugged her hard. She smelt pleasant even in her death.

But the expression on her dead face showed that she died with regrets. She could not save Carnage from the wolves and did not have the courage to be violated, so she took her own life.

Even in her death she was mocking herself for being scared and committing suicide. She felt as if she ran away from reality.

But now she was no more, there were no more regrets after your death, there was only silence.

Sky cried and cried but she did not come back to life, he lost his rationality and stayed there unmoving, with Mey's body in his arms.

While he was distracted, a strange phenomenon occurred in the surroundings. All the air moved to the centre and formed a vortex.

A semi transparent silhouette appeared in the middle of this vortex and if one looked closely, you would find this silhouette being very similar to Mey.

This silhouette looked at Sky and her dead body in his arms, she looked for quite sometime before sighing.

She has to disperse so that she can finally rest, but she was not able to until now since she had some regrets about dying.

Only after seeing Sky cry for her did she finally feel that her life was complete. At least there was someone who weeped for her death.

The soul of Mey started dispersing, "Goodbye Sky!" She said as she was about to totally disperse and cease to exist.

But suddenly Sky's left arm glowed with white light and absorbed her dispersing soul.

The left arm then healed the destroyed parts of her soul and made her whole again.

This surprised Mey, but she did not know what was happening, after all this was her first time dying.

As she was thinking, her eyes suddenly seemed heavy and she fell into a deep sleep. The left arm was nouris.h.i.+ng the soul so as to not let it disperse.

Sky felt the change in his arm but he did not know what had changed exactly. He could not see Mey's soul so he did not know all that happened until now.

But this change in his arm woke him up and let him see the surroundings, when he saw a small part of a familiar net stuck in Mey's hair, his eyes spewed fire.

Now he knew who killed Mey, he could not forget the net made from such caution. He had learned how to make this net in the first three years of his life.

"Goblins!" He said as he got up, he knew that the goblins had taken Carnage with them.

Goblins were weak monsters but they were very crafty, they erased all the signs of their presence as soon as they catch the prey.

But having lived with goblins for three years, Sky had methods to track them from the way they erase their presence.

Sky slowly started walking towards the old village ruins carrying Mey's dead body.
