Chapter 3

Authors Note : Although it is SF, it does not come out with politicians or scientists. It is more fantasy, so I will quietly explain the detailed theory.

Well, what about my life that failed in job hunting …?

“Live with a single field … …?”

The snow seems to have stopped.

I could not grasp my father’s intention.

“Do you remember there was one field at the end of the western mountain path?”

My father slowly remind me.

Well, there is certainly was.

I remember there was a farm road at the dead end, behind the mountain a have a feeling there is a field there.

Surely there was … … what to do with it?

“It half hectare, you can use it freely. Try to raise your revenue while living there.”

If it is half hectare, it is equivalent to 1,500 tsubo, which is equivalent to about 3,000 tatami mats. (TN : Tsubo is a j.a.paneses unit of measurement, Half-Hectare = 1512.5 Tsubo = 2999.986 Tatami)

It seems wide, but one third of the field will not be usable due to snow every year.

“So there I produce vegetables and make myself self-sufficient?”

I don’t understand my father’s intention.

“Self-sufficiency… You can do it, you can lend it to others. You can do whatever you want, Unlike Hosaku, you until now went to university, take advantage of that experience and think for yourself.”

(TN : Just reminding, Hosaku is the name of his older brother)

“So… for that one year?”

“I will guarantee food, clothing, shelter and living only for one year, I will lend the fields for free. After a year, I get a monthly rent. When you live here, the rent is also same. This is also the same for Hosaku. So make a prospect as long as you can in a year. ”

My brother laughed nastily behind father.

My older brother was doing such a thing while I was in college.

In any case, I know I will be thrown out without delay if I go against it.

My father is that such a guy.

Then it would be better to hear what father say and prosper for a year.

Anyway, that’s because clothing, shelter and living are guaranteed

I thinks it is better that part-timers, i am also thankful for a moratorium period of one year. (TN : I don’t know a better word to replace moratorium)

“I understood”

I had a hard time not to show in my face my bad mood.

I heard that later on, that older brother seems to be crying under the same condition.

(TN : It really say “saying ‘hihi'” which mean crying so i just replace it to crying)

It seems that the monthly fee (including rent) that we handed out to our parents to pay for the rent of the field and rice field, rise 100,000 yen monthly.

(TN : Not sure about this “親父から借りた畑と田んぼからあがる収益の中から毎月十萬円(家賃込み)を親に渡してるそうな” )

“There will be no savings for that amount of money”

Both the field and rice field that my brother uses are originally my father’s and I know how much the yield is.

Also, the bags that prepare the final tax return annually,  i know how much income my older brother has.

“From there we take 100,000 yen per month … …”

You’re… a demon.
