Chapter 50 Part3

Ever since the time w.a.n.g Man had sent her car to be serviced and Cao Yang had dropped her off back home, she had started to come to their dates without a car. Letting Cao Yang take her home would make them seem much closer.

When the two of them walked out from the theater side by side, Cao Yang gallantly stretched his arm out to protect her from being pushed around by the crowd. w.a.n.g Man also stuck very close to Cao Yang as well.

When the crowd dispersed, he naturally put down his arm. w.a.n.g Man then naturally clung to his arm. Translated by The Novelst

Without any change in expression, he raised his arm to let her grab him. After that, they both got into the car.

Even though it was a small improvement, w.a.n.g Man was happy in her heart. But she was also frustrated.

This small step had required her to put down her reservations and take the first step.

This time she didn't let Cao Yang drive the car up into their driveway. Instead, he parked outside on the road, a few meters away from the courtyard.

"If they see us, they'll come to buzz around asking about this or that… It's too annoying," she complained.

Though she was grumbling, she sounded affectionate. She cast off her usual "strong woman" posture and in the dim lighting of the car, her eyes flickered with charm.

Cao Yang laughed softly. When he laughed, his chest vibrated as well, and the corner of his mouth drew upward. He was outfitted in a stiff, neat army uniform, the stark lines of his waist obvious. He looked very manly and mature, and would make any woman's heart skip a beat.

It's him, w.a.n.g Man thought. This was the man she had always been waiting and searching for. For his sake, even if she had to put down her reservation and arrogance, she could accept it…

The air in the car turned romantic.

It seemed as though pheromones filled the air. It wasn't clear if it was his or hers.

In the dark, it was the perfect timing and atmosphere for a kiss.

Her gaze fell on Cao Yang's thin lips. She was looking forward to it.

When she entered the gates of her home, she turned around to look at him.

He still hadn't left, obviously wanting to confirm that she had safely entered the doors first before he began driving. It was a gentlemanly att.i.tude that every man should have.

She walked quickly through the gate, disappointed.

The atmosphere had been perfect – why didn't he kissed her? As long as he took that step, their relations.h.i.+p could become even closer.

But he hadn't.

She couldn't help but remember when Cao Yang told her he was busy on the weekend and had turned down that date. But in the end, she saw him driving on the road with a young, long-haired woman in the car with him.

She stood in the courtyard, listening to the roar of the engine as it started up and drove away, disappearing into the distance.

She knew he had left.

Inside her heart, w.a.n.g Man was slightly irritated.

Cao Yang, driving, was also thinking: nevermind…

w.a.n.g Man was not his cup of tea. Translated by The Novelst

When compared to w.a.n.g Man, the thing that most annoyed him was Xia Rou's recent actions. He really didn't understand; she had always been a good girl, when had she turned so rebellious?

He had been thinking about it the entire time as he drove, wondering if he had neglected to notice any abnormal behavior Xia Rou had exhibited lately.

Cao Yang suddenly remembered that Xia Rou was renovating that old apartment. She had repaired the walls, the floor and had even purchased new furniture.

It wasn't like she lacked for money, nor did she plan to rent the house out. Why would she suddenly remodel and redecorate out of nowhere?

The black hummer drove into the courtyard of the Cao Family.

He stopped the car, bringing out the form again from the glovebox at the pa.s.senger seat.

He looked at it once more, at all the foreign universities. None of them were local.

He then lifted his gaze to look at the second floor, the window still bright. His thin lips pressed together.

No matter what, he still couldn't believe Xia Rou was planning what he had guessed!
