Chapter 336 Master of Hoodwinking

Friday, the day that Ye Lingchen had agreed upon with Chen Xiaoyan. He would be going with her to take part in a variety show that weekend.

Ye Lingchen applied for a week’s leave with Professor An, to which he approved without question. Moreover, he once begged Ye Lingchen desperately to join the mathematics department.

This variety show was named Survival on Deserted Island. Most likely the crew would bring a group of celebrities to some deserted island to stay for a week. During that period, all aspects of life such as food, water, laundry, and so on would have to be taken care of by themselves.

This time, if Ye Lingchen put on Y’s mask again, that would seem really out of place. With his Transfiguration skill, he easily created a human skin mask. That mask only covered the top half of the face while exposing the mouth.

Although it was a mask, it did not affect his appearance at all. It was just like a thin layer of facial mask on his face. It would hide his real appearance, yet not cause him to feel out of place.

‘My mask still looks the best. What’s wrong with that Superman Y mask, so ugly!’

Arriving at the meeting location, he noticed a pretty woman in shades standing by the street from far away. She was constantly looking around. Next to her was a pink colored sedan.

When she noticed Ye Lingchen, the pretty woman hesitated for a moment before hurrying over. Her eyes glowed as she looked at Ye Lingchen. “You…you’re Y?”

“Xiaoyan, it’s me,” Ye Lingchen acknowledged as his lips curled slightly upwards.

Chen Xiaoyan’s eyes grew brighter, stealing a glance at Ye Lingchen. A joyful look could be seen in her eyes. “Thank you for coming with me. Let’s get in the car. I’ll go with you to the show’s crew.”

She only had a vague image of Y, plagued by the image of a shadow. Now that she met him in person, it felt better than she imagined, almost completely matching the perfect image she had of him.

Ye Lingchen’s body was well toned. His presence was also impeccable. It gave off a sense of security. Although he was wearing a mask, it gave him an added allure of mystery.

He should be quite young, and furthermore…very handsome!

“Why are you smiling?” Ye Lingchen asked out of the blue.

Chen Xiaoyan was visibly surprised. Her face turned red from embarra.s.sment, then lowered her head and answered meekly, “No…n-n-nothing…”

The atmosphere in the car immediately turned awkward. Ye Lingchen could almost hear Chen Xiaoyan’s heartbeat. He could also feel Chen Xiaoyan constantly stealing glances at him from the corner of her eyes.

‘Being a handsome man is truly a problem!’

Ye Lingchen lamented in his mind. He was prepared to jump out of the car anytime. After all, it worried him greatly with Chen Xiaoyan driving so absentmindedly.

‘How wonderful if this could go on forever,’ Chen Xiaoyan thought to herself, feeling incomparable bliss.

The car drove on towards the airport.

The show’s crew had been waiting at the airport. When they saw Ye Lingchen beside Chen Xiaoyan, they were all caught off guard. Although slightly confused, they still came up to greet them.

“Welcome our new Music Queen,” joked one of the crew members.

“h.e.l.lo, I’m Dalei, and this is my companion for this trip, Brother Yang,” said a man with a full beard. Standing next to him was an average looking man with an average body.

Both of them were trending singers, famous in TikTok. Many people would come from all over the world to hear them sing, constantly causing bad traffic.

“Brother Dalei, Brother Yang.” Chen Xiaoyan nodded, then followed up with her introductions, “This is my companion for this trip, Singer Y.”

‘What?’

The whole program crew instantly s.h.i.+fted their attention onto Ye Lingchen, their faces filled with surprise.

This event’s program crew only notified three people. After that, it was up to them to find a companion. Furthermore, these three people did not know who the other two were.

“Chen Xiaoyan, he’s really Y?” The director took in a mouthful of cold air, his burning eyes locked on Ye Lingchen as he strode towards him. He stretched his hands out and grabbed Ye Lingchen’s hands then greeted him with the utmost respect, “Y, nice to meet you. It’s my honor for you to join my show. I’m Zhang Yong, the director of this show.”

It was already a huge surprise for them to successfully invite Chen Xiaoyan. He did not expect Y to come along. Zhang Yong could already feel that his show would be a hit. Be it Chen Xiaoyan or Y, they were big shots to a mid-tier director like him!

“Nice to meet you!” Ye Lingchen nodded, replying courteously.

“You’re Mr. Y?” Next to him, a blonde woman was measuring up Ye Lingchen curiously. Her voice carried a foreign accent. “My name is Arnelle. I’m a fan of Mr. Y. I came here with my friend Little Mo.”

Arnelle was the typical Western beauty. p.r.o.nounced facial features, tall body, blonde hair, and blue eyes. She carried an air of n.o.bility, giving others a strong impression. She too was a singer. Although from Murica, she was good at both English and Chinese songs.

On the other hand, Little Mo was Chinese. Although she looked average, she was a talented singer. They never expected her to bring in a foreign singer to be her companion.

“h.e.l.lo everyone,” Ye Lingchen greeted everyone.

“This outdoor survival will surely be very interesting. I’ll be in your care!” Arnelle was the most enthusiastic one in the group. It seems foreigners have a natural affinity towards the outdoors.

Following the program crew’s arrangements, they boarded the plane and flew towards the magical city of Hong Kong.

The difference between the Chinese and Murican people was fully displayed. “Miss Arnelle, is something the matter?” Ye Lingchen finally asked.

“Mr. Y, I’m very curious about your face. Can you let me have a look?” Arnelle asked bluntly.

Ye Lingchen laughed, then answered, “Miss Arnelle, my clan has a rule. My face can only be shown to my wife. The first lady to see my face would have to marry me. Do you still want to look at it?”

Arnelle stuck out her tongue, replying immediately, “Just one look and you want her to marry you? How can you be so carefree? Love is sacred.”

“Buddha once said, looking back 800 times in the previous life would get you one chance to pa.s.s each other by. For you to be the first to see my face amongst the billions in this world, that should be fated. Isn’t it fair to be married to me?” Ye Lingchen replied with a smile.

“Wah, so romantic…” Arnelle was mystified.

The others around them tried very hard to hold in their laughter, silently giving Ye Lingchen a thumbs up. That talent in hoodwinking was unmatched…
