Chapter 6

Five years of absence had left her unaccustomed to the place she had grown up in.

Gu Yubai drove his car, speeding his way through several red lights. When he reached the villa, he honked as he approached the gate ten meters away. The guards on the outermost checkpoints, hearing the sound, gestured to the security to open the door.

For many years, these guards had been trained by the family. As soon as they heard his car, they knew he would never stop for them. He was the king, so they would have to open the gate for him.

As soon as they opened the gates, a royal blue car sped past, blasting wind as it went. Standing on either side, the guard had no time to salute at the car before it disappeared. However, they stood loyally, welcoming the owner. People in military uniforms were stationed every few meters.

Making a sharp turn, Gu Yubai stopped the car.

With an indifferent expression, Gu Yubai got down from the car. Qin Yue was already waiting at the door.

The soldiers at the door saluted. Gu Yubai handed the car keys to Qin Yue before hurrying up the stairs.

Qin Yue took the key and drove the car to the garage to park. He had expected this.

Unexpectedly, even after five years, Miss Lin had the ability to affect his mood so drastically.

The two of them had grown up together. Gu Yubai was overbearing, his temper was notoriously bad. However, he was never angered by anyone easily, notably since his temper had been more restrained in recent years.

There would be at least one person in your life that will make you cease to behave like yourself.

He went straight to the third floor. He saw Gu Yubai venting his anger on a sandbag.

On the third floor, he had built a personal gym that was complete with professional equipment. When Gu Xiaobai was a child, his father was transferred to different places throughout the year. So, he had lived in the military camp with his grandfather from an early age. He was 15 years old when he returned to his parents. Having lived in the military camp from an early age, he had developed a habit of exercising regularly.

Seeing Gu Yubai punching the sandbag, Qin Yue sighed.

In the last few years, Gu Yubai had rarely expressed his emotions. Even in front of him, he always wore a blank expression.

Hiding one’s emotions was not a good thing, it would only drive them crazy. Now, watching him vent the pent up anger and dissatisfaction, Qin Yue was finally at ease.
