Chapter 4 Part2

“w.a.n.g Shu, thanks” Gu s.h.i.+ shook hands with w.a.n.g Heng, and then escorted his wife inside.

After they stepped inside, w.a.n.g Heng felt uneasy. The young master of the Gu family did not act according to common sense. He was notorious for his bad temper. Being the only son of the Gu family, his arrogance was acceptable. Just that he hadn't visited Ouyang's manor in recent years, he hadn't touched them with ill will in retribution all these years.

Now he had no idea how Gu Yubai would react. He couldn't figure him out.

No matter what happened to the Ouyang family in the past few years, he never came to visit them. Was he coming tonight to meet Miss? He just hoped that everything would go well tonight, and no one would make any trouble.

“Mrs. Lin, happy birthday.” Gu s.h.i.+ and his wife, Qiao Yan, went forward and expressed their wishes to Lin Xuihui.

“Gu Shuji, you came. This made this old lady happy,” Lin Xiuhui said with a smile, satisfied with the couple. Even though so many unpleasant things happened in the past, Gu Family ignored it, proving themselves to be generous people.

“Lin Grandma, happy birthday.” Gu Yubai who was standing by his father said to Lin Xiuhui.

“Oh, long time." Lin Xiuhui looked at him. She had not seen this child for the last five years. He had changed a lot, having become more mature and calm.

Ouyang Yan came over. Pointing to Gu s.h.i.+ he said, “Gu Xiao'er came, this old man is happy.”

“Thank you, Ouyang Uncle for reminding father. He still refuses to accept the fact that he is old. He thinks his body is still tough. So he stays in the military camp at times, unwilling to return home.” Gu Yubai said.

“Ouyang grandfather,” Gu Yubai politely addressed Ouyang Yan.

“Oh, I haven't seen you for a long time.” Ouyang Yan looked at Gu Yubai. After Xiao Meng left with Jun'an he never came here again. His sudden appearance puzzled him as well.

The group continued to chat. Gu Yubai found an excuse to retreat. He didn't know why he came here.

At first, he did not intend to come here but when his mother asked him, he tagged along. In the past five years, there had been no major changes in the manor.

Except, he had changed. Their relations.h.i.+p had changed. A feeling of déjà vu accompanied him as he strolled around the place.
