Chapter 3 Part2

Huai'an nodded but frowned in the next moment; he was sad. Why hadn't so many people come to celebrate his birthday?

Lin Meng stood up and walked up to him. She picked him up and gently patted his back.

When she left home with Jun'an she did not plan to return. Now, Jun'an was no longer by her side when she returned.

Grandfather and grandmother had agreed to let them live in their house but they refused to acknowledge Huai'an. His ident.i.ty was an embarra.s.sment to the Ouyang family because he was her son.

She knew the child. Although many children his age couldn't detect the scorn, he was more sensitive than others.

“I'm sleepy,” Huai'an leaned into her arms and said in a low voice.

Lin Meng took him to the bed, covered him with a quilt, and soon he fell asleep.

After a while, there was a knock on the door. She stood up and opened it. It was her grandmother.

“Tonight, stay upstairs. No need come down.”

Lin Meng nodded. Lin Xiuhui did not speak further; she turned and left. Lin Meng looked at her leaving form. Her grandmother used to love her so much but now she treats her like a stranger.

Everything changed after she came back.

Lin Meng closed the door. In fact, she had never thought of attending the celebration.

Lin Xiuhui stood on the second floor and looked at the people coming and going in the hall.

She had no joy in her heart. He said he would accompany her on her 70th birthday, but he did not wait until that day.

This is because of her!

The granddaughter who grew up right in front of her eyes. Whom she loved since she was a child.

Her son was dead, but the girl was alive. That fact was enough to give birth to hatred. How could she face her calmly?

“Grandma.” Ouyang Ning walked over to her grandmother.

She knew that she was thinking about her uncle again. Grandma had a son when she was middle-aged. When she first gave birth to her uncle, she almost lost her life. After the hard birth, she loved her son whom she had won against time. It was a pity that the uncle died so young.

“Ning, you are back so early?” Lin Xiuhui pulled Ouyang Ning's hand and said with a smile.

“Today is Grandmother's birthday. Of course, I have to come back earlier. Grandma, happy birthday, I wish you health and youth,” Ouyang Ning said with a smile. She placed a jade bracelet in her hands.

“This child.” Lin Xiuhui looked at the jade bracelet in her hand. Although not very good, it showed her granddaughter's heart. She reached out and pinched Ning's nose. Her mood got a lot better.

“Grandma, let's go down, many people are waiting for you.” Although it was still afternoon, many people had already arrived. Most of them are students taught by Grandma.

Lin Xiuhui nodded, today was her birthday. So many students had made a special trip for her. She should not be rude and greet them.
