"You f.u.c.king b.a.s.t.a.r.d" He said angry as a wounded lion.

"Who the f.u.c.k are you?" Derrick asked, his day started bad enough, and this a.s.shole was just what he needed.

"Im Damien, Jason's older brother"

"Oh, now i see, same t.u.r.dy att.i.tude"

"You're going to pay for what you have done!"

"What have i done?"

Damien went silent, his angry expression water'd down.

"Tell me f.u.c.ker!? You come into my face! And threaten me!? So tell me!? What have i done!?" Derrick yelled and pushed Damien away.

"This isn't over!" Damien said ealking off, Derrick saw Sasha's disappointed face as she left with him. But Derrick was fired up, all this s.h.i.+t happening recently, he was done playing nice guy.

"Yes it isn't over, come here! So i can teach you the same f.u.c.king lesson i taught that sc.u.m brother of yours!"

Damien turned around and walked straight at him.

"Damien!" Sasha yelled.

"Derrick!" Kara yelled.

Damien stopped in front of Derrick, Derrick already had a fist ready.

"Enough! You won't start a fight here!" Sasha said.

The two girls didn't know what would have happened, Damien was twice the man Jason was, and they already knew what Derrick could do, it would have been a bloodbath.

"Lets go Damien" Sasha said but Derrick grabbed him by his collar and drew him close.

"Listen here you s.h.i.+t!" Derrick whispered "You so much as touch either Sasha or Kara, you're going to suffer before you die"

"Derrick!" Kara said pulling him away from Damien.

"Let go!" Derrick said ripping away from Kara's grasp.

Damien smiled as he left with the two sisters, Kara only glared at him over her shoulder.

Perfect, he thought, that got her angry at him. Now before she got a chance to come to him some time throughout the day and ask him to apologise, he turned around and left the school.

Set up under neath cammo nets, the Ratel layed in wait like a stalking lion. Koos set it up in such a way that only is guns and smoke grenade launchers stuck out the net, then they stood in a bush roughly the color of the net. Waiting since before the sun rose they ensured no one saw them park there. Frits calculated that the vehicle would pa.s.s around six, a time where the highway wouldn't be too busy.

"Three klicks in closing" Frits said.

"I see them, white panel van, tinted windows" Koos said. It was currently the only approaching vehicle.

"Start it up Piet, get ready to move"

Piet started the engine.

"Two K's"

"Im going to fire on one" Koos armed the guns.

Seth felt a bloodl.u.s.t urge then stood up in the van, his first a.s.sumption was s.h.i.+va, since she's the one most mentally unstable.

"Don't start your s.h.i.+t now s.h.i.+va!" Seth yelled, but she looked at him shocked.

"What the f.u.c.k are you talking about!?"

"Someone's targeting us!" Claire yelled kicking the brakes but it was too late.

The two mini guns roared along with the constant rapid fire of the four twenty cannons, the onslaught tore through the van like a soda can, Claire had the van in reverse but the ninety cannon boomed hitting the engine, the van got blown backwards making a flip and landing on its back. The rapid weapons of the Ratel still combed the van, its auto cannons fired explosive tips and there were constant unstopping explosions all through the vehicle, another shot from the ninety sent the van flying into the air, and finally the guns ceased. The echo of all the weapons still running like rolling thunder, then silence.

"Cars incoming, no time to confirm kill" Frits said.

"Piet! Evasive maneuvers!" Koos yelled.

Piet hit a b.u.t.ton and slammed reverse. The Ratel fired smoke grenades all around it, covering it completely, as the smoke s.h.i.+eld was up the Ratel reversed away, turned around and disappeared.

Derrick got home and packed a bag. In order not to raise suspicion he also dressed in casual clothing. He may not have his drivers license yet, but at this moment, he couldn't give a d.a.m.n.

Outside he took his father's pickup and left the house. Derrick's grandfather's house was in Wolwekraal north of Pretoria, about a fifty kilometer drive. He havent been to the farm since his parents died, and longed for some farm work. Every weekend they would go there as a family, Him, Seth, s.h.i.+va, Silvia, and Elsje. Those were the good old days, before he and Seth started fighting and thats also where Seth talked him and his sisters, into killing someone.

"It will be easy, we all know what to do? Right? We all know how to use knives, and with Derrick's eaps, no grown man can stop us"

They headed to the neighboring farm, and attacked the farmer and his family. That time Derrick felt it normal, it felt so f.u.c.king normal. To this day he didn't know what drove him to break that mans neck, the problem was, he enjoyed it. The local authorities said it was a farm attack, one of the recently uprising crimes in South Africa, so they weren't suspected.

When Michael found them with the b.l.o.o.d.y knives and Derrick with b.l.o.o.d.y hands, he completely lost it, Seth beaten nearly to death, and his sisters sent to live with their father. Later he heard s.h.i.+va killed their father aswell so Michael agreed to allow the triplets to live with Dianne again, this time Michael kept a close eye on them. Thats when the tension between Seth and Derrick started. All five of them craved to kill again, but didn't want to risk facing Michael, so s.h.i.+va came up with the idea of the two brothers fighting each other. Derrick at first didn't want to, but Seth kept fis.h.i.+ng him out, until he couldn't stand it any longer. They beat each other untill one pa.s.sed out, only then did the fighting stop. Later on the fights, the rivalry, everything intensified, leading to cart races, bike races, mountain climbing, even hunting was a show off between the two, and the sisters enjoyed every moment of it. Untill that one faithful day, when they were on a trip to the Fish river canyon in Namibia, another fight between the two broke out, right on the edge of the one kilometer drop down into the canyon. Seth beat him but before he knocked him out, he picked him up saying.

"If you survive this little brother, know that if we meet again, we wont shake hands, we wont see each other as brothers, only as enemies... I hope you do, because i really enjoy our little fights"

Seth held Derrick over his head then dropped him over the side. Derrick felt every blow, every rock and branch as he went down, the pain was numbing and made him faint. When he woke up, jackals were already eating from him, he kicked at them and they scrammed. The pain in his body didn't allow him to get up, so the jackal kept coming back for more, it felt like hours when he eventually could get up and walk, he found a staircase that led out of the canyon and started to climb, looking back, those three jackal's still stood staring at him.

At the top Michael was waiting for him, standing with his arms folded.

"Dad?"

"Took you long enough runt!"

"You knew i was down there?"

"Yes"

"Why didn't you come save me?"

"Why must i do that!? Look! You made it up yourself!"

"Yes but..."

"I dont raise p.u.s.s.ies Derrick, and if you died down there, then you were just a p.u.s.s.y. But now that you're here, your training can begin"

Derrick rubbed his eyes as he drove, those were hard times. Michael didn't go easy on him, making him do pushups, situps, pullups, he even chased him with the pickup, if Derrick dared slow down, Michael would ram him. Then Michael taught him to forge weapons out of every day things like brooms and chairs, Derrick could even make a weapon out of a rubber inner tube when he was done with the training. He missed his father, regardless of the severe hards.h.i.+ps he had under him, that man gave him a sense of direction in life... Now, werewolves, strange cats, wierd girls, and the thought of Seth returning, it was too much for him after his mother and father's death.

His phone rang and without looking at the ID he picked it up.

"h.e.l.lo?"

"Derrick? Where are you?" Kara asked.

"I'm not in the mood to talk to you Kara"

"Im sorry i pulled you away from Damien Derrick, but you know what would have happened!"

"What Kara? You think i would have killed him? Like Jason?"

"I, well i..." She went silent.

"What happened that night at your house Kara?"

"I, cant tell you"

"Then rather stay out of my way, you never could tell me a secret about yourself anyway" he put the phone down and screamed.

***

Kara put the phone in her pocket, she felt like she somehow deserved that, but her heart felt heavy, what got into Derrick? He was always calm and collective. Now hes picking fights left right and center, that's not like him, or is it? Kara only knew him for little more than two weeks, could he slowly be showing signs of who he really is? She looked over at Sasha talking to Damien, atleast she got someone she likes, Derrick is so hard to read because hes just human, even if he gets that angry, to her he was just a human getting angry. Damien on the other hand, Kara could feel he was a late alpha, almost a dire, and much, much more powerful than Jason, whould Derrick be able to stop him? Or? Would Damien slaughter him effortlessly? Kara had no way to really say, because Derrick was still just a human! She averted her eyes as Sasha and Damien kissed 'Oh brother' she told herself, but remembered her kiss with Derrick... She missed it, she wanted more of it. The honk of Luna's car made her pick her bag up and head over. Sasha said her goodbye's and also came.

"So? What did Derrick say today?" Was the first thing Luna asked.

"Apart from almost fighting with Damien, he seemed to have skipped school"

"Skipped?"

"Yes, do you mind stopping by his house quickly ma?"

"No problem"

The gates had a lock on, the garage door closed, and they saw the bright blue LED light of the alarm system s.h.i.+ning.

"Hes out?" Luna said.

"But were to?" Kara started to worry, tonight was the second last fullmoon of the cycle, she was running out of chances, but, would she be able to kill him if she got the chance?

"Where do you think he went?" Sasha asked.

"Not sure. But i have a way to find out" Luna said dialing a number.

"Hi detective, its me again. Remember i asked you about that tracker on a one called Derrick Black? Well could you give the location? Its a surprise we want to organise for him, yes?"

Luna took a pen out of her top pocket and wrote the adress down on her palm "Thanks detective, no he's not causing trouble, thankyou bye"

She looked at Kara "And there you have it" Luna punched the adress into the car's gps and it threw up Wolwekraal.

"Jeez thats far! Whats he doing all the way there?" Sasha asked.

"It doesn't matter what he's doing, the question is, are we going?" Luna asked looking at Kara, who looked back at her mother

"You'll come with me to make sure no one bites me right?"

Luna nodded.

"Then lets go"

The silence on the farm was so welcoming, Derick stood in the driveway pa.s.sing the house towards the tractor sheds, seeping in the calm.

His grandparents pa.s.sed away a while ago, so his parents sold all the livestock, the place was basically holiday spot for them now. One thing his grandfather wanted to do was plant an Olive orchard, so at the field where the ground was prepared for this Derrick started digging the holes with a pickaxe. Although gra.s.s started growing there again, Derrick left it like that, only removing alien plants and weed's. The work he done on the farm helped alot with his adrenaline, the fact was, his body was constantly producing adrenaline without him needing it, so if he didn't in some natural way work it off, he'd struggle to sleep, get anxious, irritated and anger up quickly. When he gets angry, the adrenaline production is boosted triple fold, and thats what causes the danger for him. Whilst hitting the ground he thought of that white wolf, being chased by her had its up sides, he got rid of this excess adrenaline and it made him sleep rather nicely, he enjoyed the sport he had with her. Now he hoped he could stay away from her, she won't find him here right?

His thoughts were answered when he was still busy digging holes at around eight. Taking a bottle of water he drank, as he lifted the bottle up to tilt it into his mouth, he saw the full moon... she won't find him here, right? But a russle of gra.s.s had his hand on the pickaxe. He saw the white ears first, then the green eyes, but instead of the exposed fangs she was calm. He held the axe up as she slowly came over a small hill, then sat like a dog in front of him, making him frown.

Kara decided, he needed to know the truth, atleast before she killed him, her heart was in such chaos now trying to decide between killing him or sparing him. Her main decision still remains her desire to become a full wolf, and nothing can change that, even if she really did love him.

"Back for more?" He asked watching her, but she shook her head slowly.

"Then what? You really are persistent aren't you?"

She smiled. Kara was still deciding as she sat there, to kill, or not to kill?

"You spoke last time, what's wrong now? Cat caught your tounge?"

She shook her head again, she withheld herself from talking, not wanting to hook on a conversation that might twist her from killing him. But then he did something she didn't expect, Derrick turned back to the ground and continued digging, his back to her.

"Well, i dont have time for games, either chase me or not, and if you get me... Make my death quick" he said looking over his shoulder, the very sight of his back screamed 'attack!'

"Just watch out for the black wolves ok?" He said and hit the ground "I have a feeling they're not far"

Kara wiped the attack decision, what did he mean by that!?

Derrick suddenly heard a shrilling yelp behind him, he swung around and saw another brown wolf had her by her arms, its fangs sunken deep into her shoulder, it sparked rage in him and he lifted the axe. But the brown wolf let go and bolted into the distance.

"Come back here you f.u.c.ker!" He yelled wanting to pursue, but the speed it ran with told him hed never catch up, then his attention turned to his white furred friend.

"Hey!" He ran to her, she went to her knees and before she collapsed he caught her.

"Hey! Are you ok!?" He yelled, she was growling in a way that signified she was in pain, agony and angry.

"You can heal from this right!?" He screamed but two more white wolves landed infront of him, he lifted the pickaxe and stepped in between them and the wounded wolf.

"You just keep coming hey!? Bring it you f.u.c.kers! I'll slaughter all of you!"

"Were here for her"

"I figured as much! Touch her and die!"

The steam already came from his body.

"She belongs to our pack, we were here to help her, but was too slow"

"s.h.i.+t! So whats going to happen to her now?" He asked stepping aside. The one bigger wolf had his friend in her arms.

"That's none of your concern anymore, she won't come after you again, you can rest easy now"

"No! That's a s.h.i.+tty answer!"

"Live with it" The taller wolf snarled then both wolves ran into the distance.

Derrick threw the axe down "f.u.c.k!"
