Chapter 27.3: Giving Slag a New Name

Xiao Bing stood firm like a block of wood in place. Her hands fidgeted around in nervousness and her eyes looked left and right and everywhere but Shen Lang.

"Xiao Bing, I'm a kind person. I am not the sort that would ever force a woman to do my own bidding. You will know it after being with me for a while."

"Yes…" Xiao Bing lowered her head and replied feebly.

"But…" Shen Lang paused for a dramatic effect. "This kind of thing can't be avoided. I will give you some time to settle this idea and cus.h.i.+on it in the back of your mind. You should begin to prepare yourself. After all, you still have to carry on my family line. You may go."

Xiao Bing's cheeks turned red.

She quickly fled away.

Shen Lang sighed and looked down at his rising sword. Sighing once more, he threw his body on the bed and looked at the ceiling in a daze. "Mulan's room is not too far away… what would happen if I rush into her bed? Ahhhh! I'm going to die from depression!"

He turned to the side and began fantasizing Jin Mulan's sensual figure.

Soon after, he fell asleep.

The next day, Shen Lang and Jin Mulan had breakfast together.

Xiao Bing served them and stood on the sidelines thereafter.

Jin Mulan looked up. "Husband, today, I am unable to visit my parents-in-law. My duty calls. Please bear them gifts in my stead. If you'd like, you can bring Xiao Bing with you."

Shen Lang nodded. "Alright."

All was silent. The husband and wife returned to their own reality of thoughts.

Soon after, Jin Mulan broke the silence. "What are your thoughts and goals in the future? What do you long for? What are your ambitions? I am quite interested."

"There is none."

Jin Mulan raised her brows slightly. "How can someone have no goal?"

Shen Lang smiled softly. "I don't really have much, but if I do, then it's quite big."

"What is it?" Jin Mulan questioned.

"Kill off the Xu Family from the face of this world and let Xu Qianqian kneel in front of me crying and begging for mercy."

"Ah…" Jin Mulan leaned back in shock.

Aren't all men ambitious? Don't they all hold lofty ideals? No matter the intent be good or evil, they show a face of magnanimity. Husband, you are… how should I say this… shamelessly direct…? Is this a good thing?

"I can understand the husband's mind, but I'm afraid it isn't easy to do that."

"Can I kill Tian Heng first?"

Again, Jin Mulan shook her head. "I'm afraid not. Tian Heng is the head of Xuanwu City's Civil Army. He is a man who belongs to Xuanwu City. And he'd just joined the Zhang Family not too long ago. If the Count's Palace were to make a move against Tian Heng, it'd be a blatant move against the Great Yan and a strict violation of the New Deal. Jin Mulan coughed. "Well… I'm really sorry for you…"

Mulan looked at her husband with a face full of embarra.s.sment.

Looking at Shen Lang's expectant eyes, Jin Mulan nodded her head and blurted out her approval.

"That should be alright…"

Smiling gleefully, Shen Lang pushed his bowl aside and stood up. "I'm full. Wife, eat slowly. Your husband will be taking his leave first."

Jin Mulan looked at Shen Lang's fading figure.

She was surprised and speechless throughout their conversation.
