69 The Count Down

I can't let him carry me... he'll be able to feel me shake. His look of concern and confusion grows as he says "Okay, I'll just walk back with you then." He pulls my chair out, allowing me to quickly stand and start walking.

I keep a smile plastered on my face as I walk ahead of him, twirling around as I say "If I'm feeling better tomorrow, I really want to see the singing rocks with you and the garden. I also want to check out more things, if that's okay?" I ask him with a bright smile.

His concern slowly lessens as he smiles back at me and nods his head saying "We can see the singing rocks, the whispering springs, and the night garden. They're all magical." I give him a look of excitement as I turn around and keep walking.

I quickly wipe the sweat beading on my forehead with a shaky hand as I act like everything's fine. Once we reach my room, I quickly wave him bye before practically shutting the door in his face. I think he wanted to help me to bed and tuck me in but I can't hold it any longer.

I stumble into the room and fall to the floor. Everything is spinning as my entire body is being consumed by the pain. I have to get to the bathroom... Just in case Kian or anyone else walks in. I force myself to stand on wobbly legs and stumble to the bathroom.

Just as I make it to the bathroom and shut the door, my legs give out as I cry out in pain. I quickly slap my hand over my mouth as tears run down my face. Suddenly, I'm hit with nausea again but this time my lunch is coming up.

I half crawl, half drag myself to the trashcan, and throw up. Pain cripples me as I throw up again and again. Even when there's nothing left, I just keep dry heaving until blood starts to come up. When I'm no longer able to keep sitting up, I fall over to my side with a groan.

I heave again and watch as my bright red blood starts turning black. I no longer have the energy to move as the pain continues to wreak havoc on my body. I just lay there on the floor and pray for it to stop. When it finally does, I'm left in a puddle of my own blood.

I slowly close my eyes as I focus on my breathing, in-out, in-out... before I realize it, I pa.s.s out. When I wake up again, it's late at night and the blood on the floor has started to dry. I force myself to get up and use my magic to clean up the throw-up and blood.

I walk over to the bath, stripping out of my messed up dress before stepping into the always warm water. I walk all the way to the middle and sit down. The warm water washes over my head as I close my eyes and hold my breath.

I feel the blood loosening and lifting off my skin and hair as I continue to hold my breath. A small part of me... a very small part of me thinks about ending myself here but when I think about my father and brother... about all the other supernaturals and even the humans... I just can't do it. Not yet anyway.

My eyes slowly open as I slowly stand up and walk to the edge. Just a little longer... I call my magic to me and try to recreate the same feeling Queen Cara gave me. Warmth washes through my entire body, easing my muscles in ways the warm water couldn't.

After cleaning up and getting dressed, I walk back into my room and crawl into bed. The instant my head hits the pillow, I'm out. When I wake up the next day, I see Kian placing a plate of food next to the bed. Thank goodness I woke up and cleaned up...

"I didn't mean to wake you up." He says when he sees me sitting up. I give him a small smile as I say "No worries, I'm a light sleeper most days. Thank you for breakfast." He brings the tray over to me and says "Don't worry about getting out of bed. Just eat and relax. If you need anything, just let me know and I'll bring it to you."

I give him a large smile as I said "Are you trying to spoil me so that no other guy can measure up to you?" He looks at me in surprise before chuckling and saying "You caught me... So, is it working?" This time I chuckle as I say "Just a little."

He makes a face and says "I guess I'll have to try a little harder then, huh?" We're both laughing as I eat breakfast in bed. When I get done eating, he takes the tray and says "I need to check up with the Queen and the general but once I'm done, I'll be right back."

I give him a smile and nod my head as I say "You don't need to rush, I'm not going anywhere. The bed feels entirely too good." He smiles a little and says "Maybe not today but... Never mind. I'll be back."

As soon as he leaves, I crumble over in pain. I grit my teeth and hold on, knowing well what's about to happen. Luckily, my episode is over and I'm able to clean up, barely, before slipping back into bed and falling asleep.

The rest of the day is okay as Kian and I continue to talk and laugh. Whenever I felt an episode coming on, I would tell him I wanted to rest. I'm actually looking forward to returning to my time so I can suffer in my own home without having to hide it.
