Chapter 37: Just Wanna Leave

Mu heard it and turned around to look at her.

Her pale face and sweat-drenched hair greatly distressed him.

He had no intention of entangling himself with the people here. He just wanna take her and leave.

Then he leaned over and picked her up with the quilt tightly wrapped around her.

Ye finally restored a brief peace in mind in his arms.

But her inner terror lingered.

Around the corner, they met Fang Ze, who came here in a hurry, but it was clearly too late.

“Master, I …”

Right now no more explanation would help with the situation.

“Get the car and go home.”

“Yes.”

Ye kept her eyes closed all the way in Mu's arms, afraid to see the people around. But she had heard crystal clearly what they said. It was only after they got in the car and the doors all snapped shut that the noise from outside were m.u.f.fled.

They were the cause of the noise outside.

But as paper cannot wrap fire, it was impossible for Mu to cover this thing up alone no matter how powerful he was.

He hugged the girl's little body tightly, but he could still feel clearly that her body temperature was dropping swiftly.

“Turn up the air conditioner.”

“Master, it's already the highest.”

But Ye was still cold and shaking.

She looked up and saw surging emotions in his deep eyes. He sat on the back seat holding her without saying a word. A while later, he even lost the strength to hug her.

Ye had never seen him so weak, and never expected.

As soon as her cold little hand reached over, it was held by his big hand. She could feel the scorching heat and wetness in his palm.

He spoke almost tremblingly.

“I'm sorry.”

His hoa.r.s.e voice sounded so feeble to her.

She caught sight of a glimmer in his eyes under the dim lights in the car. She didn't know whether it was his tear or just a reflection of light.

At this moment, she had no mind to get to know this. She just felt a feeling of sympathy emerging in the depth of her heart and spread wantonly to her bones and limbs.

She felt sympathy for him as well as herself.

No one spoke on their way home.

After they arrived, Mu carried Ye into the house and gently put her on the bed. When he was preparing to leave, the girl grabbed him by his wrist again.

“Is this G.o.d's punishment?”

Her voice was so faint and brought with it disturbing feebleness.

He did not answer her question. Instead, he said in a low voice so as not to let her discern his worry for her.

“I'll take care of it. All you need is to have a good rest.”

But right now it didn't work for Ye, who was dominated by incessant self-blame and shackled in her own morbid world of endless censure.

“We're getting what we deserve for the wrong thing we did, right?”

“Stop being paranoid.” Mu then left after saying, “I'll ask Li Ma to come in and give you a bath.”

After fleeing out of her room in a hurry, Mu leaned against the cold wall in the corridor, unable to move.

When he recalled the way she looked at him, he felt the pain all over his body as if his heart was pinched by a pair of hands.

He had managed it so well before this incident. But now everything went out of control. Indeed, he had lost control from the moment he felt wanting to own her.

He had ruined a girl's life for now.

As he thought of this, his eyelids drooped heavily with full of despair.

“Master!”

As soon as he arrived upstairs, Fang saw his master in such state in the corridor and worried very much about him.

“You …”

“I'm fine.”
