He pursed his lips and clenched his fists. An illusory darkness flickered across his dark eyes, evincing his complex emotions as he deliberated on his available options.

Mother s.h.i.+’s wailing, intermingled with the curses and surrounding noise, made Si Jingyu feel as though her ears were ringing.
