24 Chapter 24 - Portals

It was at times like these that Zaro regretted being a lone wolf and chasing away all of those that tried to help him. When he wasn't living and running about, his human emotions had begun acting up again and really caused him to think straight.

Hours pa.s.sed and he could sense several creatures sniffing his body, however, none touched him as if he was no different from a plant. After some time he opened his eyes once again and his senses came back to him and he began staring at the blood-stained soil.

Over-using his powers were great and all but what he needed to do now was to leave the dimension and proceed to the sixth stage. He could no longer sit around crafting pills, it would be more important to get back to the cubs and ensure that they don't get picked off by some beast.

He then mustered his strength to push his large body from the ground and then started walking forward with the only thing on his mind being to kill. In order to keep going, he had to gain as much beast souls as he possibly could, so, he started walking back towards the dimension gate and hunting beasts in the meantime.

Just as he was leaving, one of the wolves he met before had approached him holding a core in his mouth. Without any sort of hesitation, a cruel and aggressive Zaro had come out and ripped the wolf to shreds causing another 'ding' sound signaling that he got another beast soul.

However, before he started his hunt, Zaro let out a few fearsome howls, alerting creatures in a twenty-five-kilometer radius to hide if they can. Shortly after, he stretched his body and then bolted through the forest, his claws already having essence flowing through them.

Any creature that he found, no matter how strong or weak it was, would end up becoming a 'Ding' for his personal success. Zaro was quite surprised how the creatures in this world, despite it being so divine, looked just slightly stronger than the ones on earth?

-------

The following day, he stormed through the plains in his camouflaged form and attacked most if not all the creatures that he encountered. The plains deer could be considered strong, purely from their core, however, they were never really a challenge for a wolf to begin with.

Suddenly, Zaro came to a stop because he sensed some familiar feeling almost as if it was calling for him. He looked around attentively and discovered that it was coming from a cave not too far from him.

The cave was in the middle of an extensive gra.s.sland and couldn't be seen unless you randomly came upon it or detected the aura that was emitted from it.

He approached the cave and was suddenly overwhelmed by this aura which could only be described as dark, murderous and evil. Despite all of the warning signs, he ventured into the cave and for some reason, it was actually comforting as if he was in his own home?

He eventually reached the bottom of the cave and was surprised to see a glowing greyish-black flower patch. The flowers were the ones emitting the aura, of course, to test out if they had any power, Zaro gathered at least three of them and decided to form a pill from them.

Not even five minutes had pa.s.sed and all of the flowers had turned into a pill of perfect quality, which amazed him as usually it would take double the time but what was more interesting, white glowing letters appeared saying 'Darkening Lily Pill' and then fading away shortly after.

Out of curiosity he swallowed the pill and immediately noticed a dark energy wrapping around his core and cleansing it of all impurities. As well as that, he could feel his fur becoming a shade darker.

The results were amazing and even comparable to the root he ate before since the results were so interesting, he gathered the rest of the lilies and started refining them all at once which took almost no effort again and he did it within an hour. This time, however, the words appeared with 'Enrichened' at the beginning.

He swallowed the pill and once again it wrapped up his core and cleansed it thoroughly and separated the good and bad like water and oil. His body felt extremely good too and all of the blood he lost before was now replenished and his mind was much more focused.

That's when he remembered about his high compatibility with the darkness element and figured that it had something to do with that. It definitely explained why he could form a pill so fast and have it bond with his core immediately!

This was what Zaro needed, the dark element, it made him extremely strong and improved almost every aspect of his body and got him even closer to breaking through to the next stage! Just as he was about to leave the cave, a portal appeared releasing the same soothing dark aura.

He stared at it for a while, no matter how one looked at it, it had to be a trap... Zaro sat in front of it for a brief moment and then made his decision.

----------

A fierce howl could be heard from a long distance away, Yizar and his men shuddered, deciding to eat the deer quicker in fear that it was the same wolf again. The group were blessed with the core and decided to give it to Yizar for standing up for them whenever there was trouble.

After they finished eating their meals, the group kept moving onward to find what they had actually been looking for this entire time... the exit from this dimension. It was easy to find if you were a beast but if you accidentally stumbled across the dimension years before, then it would be extremely hard.

Plus, humanoids didn't appear in front of the gate like beasts, they were scattered throughout the whole dimension which was bad because they had separated from their groups.

"Yizar, other than you, was there anyone else from the nomads that had the potential of becoming powerful or was powerful?" Gerald asked politely.

"Yes, from what I knew there were two nomads that were incredibly strong, they were the pillars of our group. However, its been a long time and I do not remember their names... one wielded dual axes while the other was a mage," he responded casually.

"A mage?! Isn't that the most difficult route to advance in as a nomad?" Tauren shouted.

"It is, however, if you manage to break through, your power would far exceed that of any other warrior on the same level but it is tough because you have no mage scrolls to read from and most of what you do is self-taught," what Yizar said was true, being a mage required some serious dedication or great luck as you couldn't learn spells or create even a staff without some intense practice.

"Hey, guys... look... a portal..." Gerald said as he led the way which caused everyone in the group to freeze. It can't be? The exit they had been looking for this entire time was casually sitting, waiting for them to hop inside?!

"Move aside, where?" Yizar called out and it was indeed true, a portal the size of a small door had appeared and without a second thought, Yizar jumped inside and the others followed as well!

The portal was just like a portal and shot them out of the entire dimension?! However, rather than ending up outside, Yizar noticed that they were traveling to another one rather than to the outside world which annoyed him.

When they were shot out, however, they all watched with their eyes wide as a group of nomads were staring at them on the other side!
