21 Chapter 21 - The Spiritual Roo

Next to it was the pink root, this root was exceptionally odd as it didn't give off the same feeling as a normal plant would.

Zaro decided that it would be safer to consume the pill before moving onto the root just to give him that extra burst of power before he began the extraction.

Thus, without much thinking, Zaro just swallowed the whole necklace without removing any of the metallic pieces around it, although he wouldn't have been able to anyway.

The necklace traveled slowly down his digestive system and his core had immediately begun the extraction. Zaro understood that the pill was created in a different way which made it much more powerful than any pill he ever made.

On top of the incredible essence stored inside it, it also was very easy to extract and his core had almost bonded with the pill!

The feeling of consuming essence was a satisfying one, it gave a warm tingling sensation in the chest like heated water pouring on a cold body part. Other than that it tasted incredible and always made Zaro hungry for more!

About two hours had pa.s.sed and Zaro opened his eyes and faced the root with more confidence now. That pill had tremendously helped him, even though it didn't break through and cause an evolution inside his body, it did help get close to it.

Zaro reached down to sniff the root and was surprised by the amount of essence that had entered him just from the smell!

He poked at it with his nose for a while and then found the courage to swallow it but did not expect the sudden strange feeling.

It was a similar feeling to when he swallowed the pill but the only difference was that it was all rus.h.i.+ng to his head!

Along with the rush of essence, his body was sweating all over as he focused incredibly at extracting the core.

Since he wasn't able to use his core to extract it, he had to use every ounce of brain power to consume the essence using his mind.

However, after about thirty minutes, Zaro found himself breathless lying on the floor with his tongue stuck out and his body trembling.

He wasn't shaking due to the power of the essence but he was quivering due to all of his inside being transformed into something incredible! The root was only a quarter done from extracting the whole thing but Zaro laid lifelessly and felt as it was being wasted away slowly.

"What is this thing?! I can't even extract anymore of it because my body can't handle the essence contained within it?" he cried inside.

Zaro was determined to consume as much of it as he could and did so by taking many breaks until the root was eventually used up. He felt like his body was undergoing a drastic change in the meantime, however, just before he could see the results, he collapsed and went into a deep sleep.

"Yizar, we have been traveling for about a day now and have nowhere to stay nor the power to create another underground camp! Not to mention, we lost our most valuable a.s.sets to that d.a.m.ned wolf!" Tauren said with hatred filled in his heart.

"Believe me, we wouldn't be a match for that beast..." Yizar pondered for a moment before continuing, "I feel like his power far exceeded that of a diamond-core beast..."

The others stared at Yizar with their eyes wide open in horror, "You must be joking?!" Tauren cried out surprised.

"How else must he have found us? He must have detected the spiritual essence from the root and used it to hunt us down... also, you didn't see his core?" The others looked at each other horrified, perhaps it was a good thing that they were let go free.

"Could that mean-"

"Yes, it must be either the less likely... an unawoken beast... or he must have already evolved into a spiritual being." The logic wasn't wrong as Zaro did give off a terrifying aura, and many did not see a wolf manage to make it that far without awakening.

However, little did they know that Yizar had the ability to fight him head on and even have the upper hand but due to the uncertainty they had all chose to retreat.

"Hold!" The nomad ahead whispered and the group immediately crouched down and hid behind some bushes.

"Is that the Elatus tribe?! What are they doing in this dimension?!"

"Hold on, I think there is only one... a woman at that."

"Should we attack-"

"Don't be stupid!" Yizar snapped and silenced all of them at once before speaking again, "Man or woman, the Elatus could easily annihilate all of us in one go!"

Suddenly, Lidya stopped and inspected her surroundings, surprised to find some wretched nomads spying on her a distance away, "Nomads, come out of your hiding," Lidya commanded.

On the other hand, the nomads were currently laying waste to their own underwear with their hearts pounding with fear.

Yizar, however, calmly walked out of the bushes and faced Lidya head-on with his hand gripping tightly onto his weapon, "What is it you want, Elatus?"

Lidya inspected Yizar and then said calmly, "I have a question to ask, if you manage to help me, I will allow you all to live but if not... I will create a sacrificial altar and send you off as tributes for the sake of my kind.

Although Yizar tried not to show any change in his facial expression, he was dying on the inside but managed to reply, "What is it?"

"I have a friend, he is a wolf, and for some unexpected reason, he fled towards this forest and I have been tracking him down for the past month..."

"A wolf?" Yizar was quite surprised... he knew that the Elatus were excellent beast tamers but never expected it to be the same wolf that they had run into before, "We were chased away by a wolf, less than a days travel from here... he took what was ours in exchange for our lives..."

"Was he big in size?"

"Of course, he was ma.s.sive and his claws and fangs looked like they could kill just from looking at them... if you continue in that direction you will find your wolf either inside a hole or near one."

Lidya dropped an unexpected smile and in a blink of an eye drilled a sharp-edged stone straight through a nomad's skull, stunning the rest of them.

"You said you wouldn't hurt us!" Yizar exclaimed while slas.h.i.+ng his weapon in front of him, preparing for the inevitable.

"I have no intention to hurt any of you, however, if you eye my body with malicious intent... I will only be forced to retaliate to save my pride as a woman," Lidya smiled once more and resumed walking towards the direction Yizar had pointed out.
