64 Don't Come...

"I left my game CDs at your place. I need them back." Lillian stated her reason to visit.

Lillian felt that Shane acted differently as soon as he heard her saying 'coming over'. It made Lillian doubt her friend.

"What's going on Shane? Are you with your secret girlfriend now? Is that why you're scared of me coming over?" Lillian doubted.

"There's no secret girlfriend, Lillian. Why do you need them now? If you want it so badly, I can visit you later in the evening." Shane proposed. He knew that he has guests visiting him today at his place.

"Nah... I need them now. I seriously doubt that you're hesitating. Are you sure that you're not hiding your lover from me?" Lillian argued.

"I'm not like you, Lillian!!!" Shane snapped back.

"Woah... Are you stalking me somehow? How did you know that Lucy was here?" Lillian got surprised from Shane's guess.

"Because I'm not a pig like you..." Shane maintained his sa.s.sy att.i.tude.

"Brother, it takes a person in love to understand those feelings which are not possible in your case since you're dating a ghost, I presume," Lillian replied sarcastically.

"Anyways..."

"don't come here," Shane ordered.

"Why not?"

"Because... I'm not at my home, dummy!"

"Oh! Are you in office right now?"

Shane denied. Instead, he said that he's out meeting with Jayce. Lillian believed in the story and almost dropped the idea of going to Shane's place.

"Man, I'm busted. I wanted to play games..." Lillian wept like a child.

Shane did his best to convince her but lying to his friend felt uncomfortable. It made him feel guilty.

However, he can't let Lillian interrupt his meeting with Jayce and his new editor, Giselle. He ended the call with an apology.

"What's going on with this guy? He never responded like this?" Lillian guessed his strange behavior. However, Lillian didn't focus on it too much but was thinking pretty hard to play her video games.

...

"That was close... What is it? The fate?" Shane mumbled to himself as he felt relieved, stopping Lillian from visiting his place for a mere game CDs. If he didn't have any guests visiting him today, their video game CDs would have taken the top priority. But somehow, Shane Ricardo is a normal conscious man. He knew his priority at times.

Lillian Grey's call both gave him a shock and surprise. He felt relief once everything was settled. It was almost time for his guests to arrive at any given moment. But dealing all these issues right from early morning worn-out Shane and he deserved to take a break until anyone arrives. He went back to the living room which is huge and s.p.a.cious with a large LED Television on the wall, hanging like a clock. The living room itself looked majestic with most of them being Rustic decorations. His couch took over one-fourth of the living area making it probably the biggest and comfiest couch in the world. Shane walked towards the couch and jumped on it right away. Within an instant, he fell asleep, giving out little snores. The guy was purely exhausted.

Seconds pa.s.sed like minutes and minutes pa.s.sed like hours, when Shane's sleep was disturbed with a loud noise of his doorbell. He sighed while struggling to wake up from the comfy couch. He then moved like a turtle slowly, pace by pace, and very soon approached the main door. He opened it and saw the figures standing in front of him. His expression never changed and kept still - revealing that the guest is someone he's well acquainted with.

"Hey Boss!!!" the person said, smiling brightly that it almost made Shane got blind.

"Jayce! come on in..." Shane welcomed his first guest inside. Jayce sat on the comfy couch and relaxed before meeting his new editor. Meanwhile, Shane was in the kitchen preparing freshly brewed Brazilian coffee for two.

"So, when's my new editor arriving?" Jayce acted like a kid expecting to see something new.

"Soon..." Shane's energy literally went down to zero when he returned back from his kitchen with two cups of hot coffee.

"Are you sure, you're okay? Do you want to cancel today's meeting? I don't mind. You look terrible, Shane." Jayce was worried about his boss.

Shane shook his head and took a sip of coffee from his 'Motivational Monday' coffee mug. As soon as the coffee went in, it triggered and Shane felt a bit better.

"I'm just tired. It's alright. Let's get this over today itself. The more sooner, the better." Shane replied and kept sipping his coffee.

"Alright, Is she on her way?" Jayce became impatient.

"Hmm..." Shane replied but kept focusing on restocking his energy before Giselle arrives.

"Ah man, I can't wait to meet this girl..." Jayce smirked while his eyes kept staring at the main door.
