57 First Day Work

Giselle reached the tenth floor.

"Woah... It's very beautiful." Giselle thought.

The tenth floor, when Giselle stepped out all she could see was the beautiful peach wallpaper. To the right side of the elevator stands the entrance to "KeyLine Publication". The entrance door is made of gla.s.s which sparkled without any dust. One can easily mistake it and b.u.mp into the gla.s.s door, as it looks just crystal clear. Once you enter inside, the wall with huge blocks of letters spells out the company's name, proudly. Giselle's mind exploded with the place's creative designs. The walls replicated bookshelves and even had graffiti designs like people reading books, the fictional world of magical creatures and so on.

Shane Ricardo used to hire young people that he finds on the social media and request them to make these wonderful designs. The combination of colors all appealed to the people working inside. Anyone who enters this place will surely leave with a lot of brainstorming ideas. Such an aesthetics that is sure to attract anyone who pa.s.ses by. However, not everybody can easily enter inside Key Line. The security is strict and fair. With security cameras to watch and record everything, there's no error or any sort of disturbance that can occur inside and outside of the office.

"Mr. Ricardo has informed me. You can go straight to the end and then to your right will be Mr. Shane Ricardo's office." the receptionist smiled as she guided Giselle to Shane Ricardo's office.

Giselle's eyes moved all around the office and she noted people being busy. She spotted Editor's room where she would have her spot, in future. There's pantry where few of them enjoyed their break. Very Soon, Giselle reached Shane's office.

...

(knock, knock)

"Come in," Shane said.

As soon as Giselle entered she could see Shane's office was flooded with files and paperwork but neatly arranged. With simple yet intricate decoration, his office looked professional for the boss.

"Giselle!!!" Shane's voice got high.

"Wow, Oh, wait." Shane paused and then stood firmly.

"WELCOME TO KEYLINE PUBLICATION" Shane greeted her officially.

"Thanks, Mr. Ricardo. It's my pleasure." Giselle felt confident.

"Oh, will you stop calling me that. Just 'Shane' would do. And we're at the same age. I might feel a little uncomfortable." Shane requested.

"Alright, Shane" Giselle replied.

"That's very much better. Alright, without any delay, let's start." Shane exclaimed.

"Okay."

"First, you will need to meet the author. I have spoken with Jayce. Now, I just need to fix a date for you guys to meet. You are familiar with his works right?"

"Yes."

"Good. Then..."

Giselle interrupted Shane.

"Yes?" Shane asked.

"I would like to know about KeyLine first. If it's alright with you, let me meet Mr. Jayce once I get familiar with things around here. I mean just a day will do." Giselle pleaded.

"That was going to be your second task. I thought you might want to meet the author first. Hmm... this will work. You will meet this guy today and get to know all about KeyLine Publication. And then once you're done, come meet me. I'll arrange a meeting with Jayce." Shane decided.

Giselle agreed with his plan and got the information.

"Just a minute... let me give him a call that you'll be coming over..." Shane grabbed his mobile and dialed the number to Wallace.

"Wallace?"

"Yes, Mr. Ricardo" the Wallace guy replied.

"You're free now? I'm sending you Jayce's new editor, Giselle. Train her about our company, got it?"

"Roger that Mr. Ricardo. Send her now, I'm available." the Wallace guy agreed.

"Thanks, Wallace. Bye then. Let me know once you're done." Shane replied.

"Wallace's office room is next to the reception area. The one with says either "Back Online/ In Session" on his door." Shane gave her instructions.

Giselle thanked him and then left to meet the Wallace guy.

She followed Shane's instruction and reached the office room. She confirmed after seeing the "In Session" sign on the door.

...

(knock knock)

"Come on in, Giselle," Wallace said.

Giselle entered Wallace's office room which had more than one computer and Laptop. It looked as if he's a hacker with all the stuff surrounding him.

"Welcome honey, take a seat. What would you like to drink?" Wallace asked.

"Ugh... Tea?" Giselle replied curiously.

"You got it. Do you have any preferences?"

"Ah, no... anything will do"

"Alright" Wallace quickly dialed a number and requested 'One Ginger-mint tea and two americanos'.

"Shall we start?" Wallace smiled.
