47 Lia's Own Adventure

"Yeah. But I still let him know about Lia." Giselle answered.

"Ugh... you are really one lucky girl, believe me, or not. You do meet some great people in your life who cares about you deeply." Mrs. Beth felt grateful.

"Alright. I will be very happy to have Lia joining this school. I will take care of her very well." Mrs. Beth stated. She now wanted Lia to join her school so badly.

"I know you will and that's why I reached out to you." Giselle agreed.

"What about work? Did you find a job in here?" Mrs. Beth asked.

"Yes. I will be soon starting as an editor at KeyLine publication. I haven't heard from them yet as for when to start working but, the boss did mention that he wanted to give me a few days off in order to settle down and find Lia a school." Giselle replied. She got reminded about Shane Ricardo trying to help out with Lia's school. However, Giselle's glad that she tried on her own.

"Good. I will make sure to visit you soon. Still, we have to wait for your daughter to know if she's like this school or not." Mrs. Beth saw the time.

"Yes. Is it alright for a young girl to loiter around the school when it's on a session? I mean, I hope she doesn't get into any trouble." Giselle was worried.

"Don't worry, that's why I'm here. Let's wait for here. Meanwhile, Do you want some tea?" Mrs. Beth asked.

Lia went to the first floor. The school was s.p.a.cious. Since the cla.s.srooms were in a session Lia walked carefully without making any noise. Slowly, she peeked into the windows and saw the cla.s.srooms. It was neat and had about 14 kids in it. Most of the cla.s.sroom's strength ranged from 14-18 kids per cla.s.s. All the kids seemed to have fun. Of course, Lia noticed the sleeping once in the back. She giggled. After crossing a few cla.s.srooms she reached the notification area. It was huge and heavily packed with a lot of information. Club events, student's achievements, circular information, compet.i.tions, and prize winners and etc. There was so much information on it. She realized that the school supports a lot of activities. It encouraged her even more. As she got all enthusiastic while reading them, Lia noticed a kid's shadow appearing from behind her. She got scared for a moment.

In the next few seconds, Lia was dragged by this girl who might be at a similar age with Lia.

"Alright, Jessica's on her way. Let's meet her up there. Soon..." the girl rushed Lia. They both took the stairs and went up to the cafeteria. Lia hasn't had the opportunity to explain. So, she kept going along. When both the girls reached the cafeteria, it was all empty.

"Ah, man. Jessica should have been here already. Where the h.e.l.l is she?" the girl murmured.

"Stephenie, right? Do you have any idea where Jessica will be? I was told to bring you along. But, she isn't here. Aaah..." the girl became unstable. She fidgeted around nervously. A few minutes later, another two girls showed up together, Jessica and Stephanie.

"Jessica!!!" the girl with Lia shouted.

"Shush, are you trying to get us caught? Wait, who the h.e.l.l is this?" Jessica questioned - looking at Lia.

"Who? Ah, Stephanie..." the girl answered casually. The next moment got awkward when the original Stephanie next to Jessica made her presence. Now, the three girls were shocked by looking at each other. Lia finally found the time to make her point.

"Excuse me!!! I'm not Stephanie as you can see that we have the original one here already. And I believe this person has mistaken me for Stephanie. I was not able to explain because of the rush." Lia explained.

The girls got relieved by the fact that she's new and not someone who can bring them trouble.

"I'm sorry" the girl who dragged Lia apologized. Her name was Andy.

"Are you girls trying to do something bad?" Lia asked.

The girls gaze focused on Lia all at once. "We're not notorious..." Jessica paused.

"It's Lia," Lia mentioned her name.

"... Lia. We're here on a mission. Stephanie, if you may..." Jessica completed her sentence.

"Yes. Every Monday, the school prepares a special dessert for the students. Since it's only once a week, all of the kids in here try to crowd the place and we never had the chance to taste it." Stephenie explained.

"And Jessica here is our mascot because she's in the sports club for her practice. If we tagged along with her, then we won't get caught red-handed." Andy finished revealing their mission.

"So, you guys are here to buy some special dessert?" Lia enquired.

The girls replied in a chorus - "YES".

"Alright. Well, let me not delay you anymore. You can go ahead with your mission. good luck." Lia tried to leave when Jessica asked her to join them.

"Yes, come with us. You're new right? which cla.s.s?" Stephanie asked.

"No, I haven't joined in yet," Lia replied.

"What?" "So, you're not a student in here. Wow, talk about meeting strangers." Andy teased.

Regardless, the girls insisted on Lia joining them and went right up to the counter.

"Four Lucky treats, please." Jessica led the pack at the front desk to order.

The lady at the counter looked at the girls and asked, "Jessica, are they in your team?"

"Yes. They are the subs, newly recruited. They got exhausted after one practice and begged for some snack. I brought them here." Jessica lied casually. The girls accompanied her and acted out as if they were really exhausted.

"Oh, you don't wear these dresses while you practice, do you?" the lady pointed out Lia.

The girls panicked. Lia looked perfect in her new dress, untainted, clean and fresh. Before blowing out their covers, Jessica spoke out.

"Oh, her track pants got ripped during practice. That's why she's wearing a new dress. Look at us, we're all drenched in sweat. Lucky her. Oh, and that's why we're getting her Lucky treats." Jessica laughed trying to please the lady. It worked.

"Alright, girls. Here you go. This is usually sold out only during lunch for students. Since y'all are from the volleyball team, I'll let you buy it before the lunch hour," the lady handed out the paper bag with four Lucky Treats dessert.

"Aw, thank you. We are going back to practice now. Thank you so much, Mrs. Abby. Love you" Jessica said and the girls' chorus thanked Mrs. Abby and quickly left the place.

They all met outside near the playground and shared the treat. Meanwhile, the bell had rung and the kids started rus.h.i.+ng to the cafeteria.

"Wow, talk about the crowd." Lia exhaled.

"Here you go..." Andy gave Lia's share.

Lia accepted it graciously and thanked the girls for the treat.

"Ah, it's not big deal. Have it soon." Jessica responded.

The lucky treat was a chocolate treat that's shaped as 'four-leaf clover'. It had orange cake with chocolate lava filling topped with confetti and chocolate chips.

As soon as Lia took a bite, she froze.

"See, awesome, right?" Andy responded to Lia's reaction.

"Yes," Lia replied.

The girls enjoyed their dessert and Lia said her goodbye's and thank you's to them. As she walked away, the girls shouted her name.

"LIA!!!" the girls shouted.

Lia got startled. She turned around.

"We'd love you to join here." the girl cheered on her.

Lia smiled and gave them a thumbs up as the confirmation. The girl felt happy. Soon after that, they all parted their ways. And Lia happily walked back to the "Mrs. Beth's office".
