Giselle pa.s.sed around the drinks and snacks. Most of the guests were surprised to see the little girl. They never knew that Giselle got married and had a child. Even though, it was all sudden where no one could be notified about the marriage or about the kid, Giselle's close group of people that she cares about always understood her and respected her decision.

Soon after the party began, Anna arrived with her husband Jake Levine. Both of them dressed in their elegant clothes matching each other perfectly. Anna s.h.i.+ned in her customized Gucci dress paired with Bulgari's finest jewelry. The brand was extravagant but her attire was simply elegant for the evening. Anna's husband Jake Levine is the famous Interior designer in the New York City. He is in the top 10 lists of promising designers with the greatest potential. Anna and Jake fell in love during a gathering and went out on dates when Jake finally proposed Anna and ask for her hand in marriage. Jake was supportive of Anna and her decisions. They got married two years back and it was a blast with only limited close family and friends. Their wedding was strictly private that even paparazzi wasn't aware of it. Jake's family took care of the security. Jake and Anna's wedding was made a public announcement later in a fas.h.i.+on magazine where they gave their first interview as the newlywed couples. It is said the issue of the magazine that month was sold out more than their previous issues. They are called to be the power couple in the business where they have their own territory build huge and running successfully.

Besides all of these huge successes, the couple does live without the spotlight. They enjoy spending time with family and friends. Anna and Jake preferred a quiet peaceful life. When Giselle invited Anna to attend her welcoming home party, Jake didn't resist. In fact, he insisted on coming along to see his wife's schoolmate. Jake is an extrovert who enjoys social gathering.

As soon as the couple arrived, Giselle invited them inside and hosted them along with the others. Jake had bought present for Lia which he planned to give it personally. Before planning to give his present to Lia, Anna introduced her husband to Giselle. They had a small conversation about getting to know each other and other details. At the end of the chat, Jake requested Giselle to meet Lia. Giselle agreed and called her daughter. Lia approached them with hands behind her back. She smiled at Anna and Jake and then looked at her mother; meaning to ask 'who are these people?'.

Giselle informed her daughter about Anna and Jake. Jake went on to give Lia the present and asked her well-being. They both chatted while Anna dragged Giselle into a private s.p.a.ce and asked for Lia's father.

"Well, we got divorced. Lia stays with me." Giselle replied.

Anna looked at her with pain. Anna felt bad after hearing it.

"Don't look at me like that. You know I can't work this marriage. It was never meant to be. But I don't blame him or Lia. Lia, to me, is a gift that I can't find any fault. Both of us agreed to take care of our daughter and will do anything for her good life. And just because we got divorced I never hated him or anything. He often visits us whenever he wishes. Oh and for all of Lia's important life decision, I still consult him." Giselle smiled while talking about Lia's father. she continued...

"He was there for me when I was broken. What he did to me will always be precious and treasured forever. He's still my good friend. Wanna know why? Because he knows me very well." Giselle ended the topic when Lia came to brag about the new toy that Jake brought. Giselle bent down to look at the toy and her daughter smiling brightly.

Looking at Giselle and Lia, Anna felt satisfied. She envied the mother and daughter. Jake who was nearby noticed Anna's face; revealing her emotions so easily. He left to have a drink.

Anna caught Giselle by her hands and told her to stay connected and talk to her if there's any problem. Giselle accepted. Both the ladies moved away to join with the others. Dinner is about to start soon.

Now, all of the guests have arrived except for Giselle's parents.
