318 First Day At Shooting!

Lucy portrays the female main character called Claudia, a rising model in the city. Naive to her nature and captivating, this mesmerizing beauty is not single, for she is already in a long-term relations.h.i.+p with her loving boyfriend, Mitch.e.l.l.

The first scene for their first day is Mitch.e.l.l calling his girlfriend, Claudia, out for dinner. He calls her at work and informs about them spending lesser time lately.

Two separate shots with Lucy portraying Claudia at work, in a photoshoot as she receives a call from her boyfriend, who's been recently away more and more, and she picks up to answer the phone. To her surprise, Mitch.e.l.l invites her out for a romantic dinner. He confesses about spending less time lately. To compromise his growing absence, he makes such an offer. Claudia, startled at his sudden move, soon fell to delight from his caring. She gleefully agrees to him.

Both separate shots of the actors are going to be the spring of this movie. The male actor who plays Mitch.e.l.l, Claudia's boyfriend, will have the first scene then followed by Claudia with their call conversation.

Lucy waited while the male actor arrived at his mark to start the first scene.

"You ready?" Frank's voice came from behind that Lucy, for a minute, got scared if she got asked to do the opening scene. The stage fright that she kept concealed leaked in a split second to a casual call.

"Frank! You scared me there," Lucy says to silently pant.

Frank studied her to ask if she was still nervous.

Lucy did not respond. Her stillness gave Frank her reply, and he didn't pry anymore.

Returning to solitary silence, Lucy glanced at Ivy, who was standing next to the cameraman, discussing solemnly. For a long time, she'd been waiting, their eyes never connected for once as they did back then. Both did glance at each other occasionally, and Ivy gestures a friendly nod to walk away to her duty while Lucy remained in her spot.

The location grew tense as time ticked to their first scene, and upon Ivy's call, the slate slapped to the first take. The male actor entered his introduction scene. A typical day at his work while he greets his fellow employees and marches to his seat.

"He's good!" Frank comments from the actor's performance.

"He hasn't said a word," Lucy grunted from Frank's praise.

"Acting is not about delivering the dialog perfectly! His demeanor says it all. Remember!" Frank said.

Lucy returned to watch the guy act.

There, seated in his place, Mitch.e.l.l takes out his phone to go through several emails and responds to text messages.

Lucy watched him play the part with expertise as if he is a salaried working man. He had no lines to deliver, yet he could convince the audience about his role.

After resorting to his personal calls, Mitch.e.l.l then looks at the picture on his desk; A picture of him and his lovely girlfriend, the angel, Claudia.

Lucy remembered taking the pictures previously for this scene and a few others. It is the first time meeting the actor who plays her boyfriend in the movie. He is also part of the main cast, having a prominent role in the story. They exchanged a formal greeting, and Lucy already respected his professionalism.

Looking at the photo, Mitch.e.l.l gets reminded how long it's been since they've hung out as a couple on a proper date.

Lucy saw his eyes longingly stare at the photograph, expressing his sadness in missing his girlfriend. The actor improvised the scene to add more realistic eloquence.

Lucy's eyes moved to Ivy's spot and found her focused on him. She wondered if those eyes would be on her when she performs. If so, it could become troublesome to satisfy those judging gaze.

Coming to terms with his lack of commitment to his relations.h.i.+p, Mitch.e.l.l picks up the phone to dial to Claudia, who is at a brand photoshoot.

"Cut!" Ivy says to cut the scene, which also snaps Lucy out of her anxious bubble.

The director and the crew go through the part, and after satisfied with the performance, Ivy gives a green signal for the next scene with Claudia. It is going to take a while to prepare the second set and its atmosphere. The extras are waiting nearby to stand on their marks while Lucy gets a call to join.

"You're up next!" Frank said.

Lucy takes a deep breath and hands over the script to her manager. She looks into the mirror to check herself and made adjustments before preparing to leave.

"Don't worry! You'll be great!" Frank said after noticing her restless brow wrinkling her forehead.

Lucy paused to see him, to acknowledge his heartfelt words and smiled wordlessly. She needed that boost! Finis.h.i.+ng her touch-up, she walked to meet the rest who would join in her scene.

Parker was ready to signal Ivy, who called forth the actors to get to their marks.

Lucy hesitates a few seconds before stepping to her spot. She saw the others take their position.

Ivy stood upfront to supervise the others and made few changes until she came near to Lucy. Their eyes meet again with an exchange of soft smiles.

"I know this is your first-ever acting gig! Are you ready?" Ivy asked.

She then sensed the lingering nervousness from Lucy's loud exhale.

"I told you it's natural to get nervous. But remember, you are not Lucy anymore," Ivy said to add one last phrase that could encourage Lucy's mood.

"You are Claudia!"

A luxury brand's new makeup product, their futuristic lipstick is the latest innovation, and they chose Claudia, the famous rising supermodel, to represent the house and reveal its current creation.

Lucy, dressed in an elegant gown, sat in front of her royal dressing table, occupying all luxurious products and amongst those, stood the superior lipstick. Claudia, who already looks like a G.o.ddess, picks up the product to give it a dash on her rosy lips.

Frank stood closeby to catch Lucy acting. Since her first scene is a photoshoot, a familiar play known to her, Lucy had the upper hand in portraying the part. She went to pose as the photographer kept clicking pictures. The shoot ends to give Claudia a deserving break for her excellent work. The model walks out to her waiting s.p.a.ce, where she gets her makeup done again, tweaking the tiny touches to make her look absolutely flawless.

Suddenly, the sound of a phone ringing echoes inside the room to interrupt everyone.

The guy who did Claudia's makeup saw her seem absent-minded. He then calls her to inform, and Claudia picks up the phone to see who's calling her now.

Frank's calm, composed att.i.tude began to quiver under the running out time. Sooner or later, Lucy would start to say her dialogs, and Frank wished for nothing to interrupt her play. He kept a close eye on her act while simultaneously watching for the crew's instant reaction.

'So far, so good!' he thought.

Lucy, who's portraying Claudia now, walked like a model, with style and finesse to her swaying hips, picks up the phone to answer the call.

Lucy no longer feared because of the gus.h.i.+ng adrenaline to perform better. She got excited and thrilled to say her first line.

"h.e.l.lo!"

Frank exhaled in relief. All his time spent practicing with Lucy did not go to waste as she stayed in her character. He believed in her and wanted everyone to see it. His natural smile declared itself to be proud of his client. Nevertheless, now begins the journey, and Frank continued to watch her.

Ivy is beginning to feel proud of herself for choosing Lucy to play Claudia. However, it is too soon to get pleased already. She waited to continue to watch Lucy act.

The male actor who plays Mitch.e.l.l also joined the scene from another set as the two casually chatted in the beginning. Soon, Claudia hears Mitch, her nickname for Mitch.e.l.l, regret about spending less time recently.

It was true, yet Claudia innocently forgives him. Mitch.e.l.l hears her cheerfully convince him while her face sulks secretly. However, she persisted in letting him not feel guilty about it.

Mitch.e.l.l then offers to take her out for a romantic dinner.

Ivy carefully watched for Lucy's act at this moment, for despite the sadness and longing, Claudia somehow feels different. Mitch.e.l.l never requests formally for a date. It bothers the model before she ignores it to his sweet talk and soon succ.u.mbs to his idea.

Claudia happily agrees to meet him for tonight's dinner.

The call ends to her solo shot.

Parker focused on Lucy.

Claudia, after the call, kept staring at her phone until a summon for her work came to startle her. She then realizes her atmosphere and left to finish her work without any delay. Her face had no trace of the lingering doubts.

"Cut!!" Ivy called out.

And the actors broke their tense faces to rest. Lucy first looked for Ivy's reaction and saw her with Parker.

Both the actors wait for the verdict.

Ivy looked up shortly to smile, nodding her head in approval.

Looking through the crowd to find Frank-

Frank already appeared in front of Lucy to appreciate her work. Lucy's anxiety disappears with a good start. She got told to take a break while the male actor who plays Mitch.e.l.l resumed performing. He had a few scenes to complete before their dinner play.

"She looks good!" Parker commented.

"Yeah!" Ivy spontaneously responded.

"I meant she is acting well!" Parker repeated in detail.

Ivy turned to peer at him, agreeing to his words, "I know."
