214 While Waiting...

Lillian was waiting alone. She took this time to relax and watch her cla.s.smates dance.

With the pa.s.sing time, a few couples left the place for their own adventurous night. The dance floor became more s.p.a.cious than before, and so, even the couples who hesitated at first joined now.

Out of all the couples that took over the dance floor, one caught Lillian's attention.

Grace and Chloe danced together.

Lillian didn't remember spotting them at the beginning.

'They must have waited until now!' – she thought.

Grace and Chloe knew that they would get taunted if they go first with everyone. Hence, the two stayed back to spend some time and then arrived to dance when the crowd got less.

..

"Look at those two," a girl's voice came from distant.

Lillian turned to see a group of girls whose partners were away for the restroom break. They saw Grace and Chloe dancing and pointed out at them.

Lillian got p.i.s.sed off from their stupid comments.

Nonetheless, the girls kept going with their remarks, not caring about anyone. Their offensive words targeted the two girls who danced. This group of girls laughed at them horrendously, mocking at their relations.h.i.+p by calling them various names.

Lillian Grey controlled herself from getting involved. If it were a typical day at school, then she would have already busted their a.s.ses for talking behind someone's back. Lillian didn't unnecessarily want to start a fight since it is a special occasion. Also, her costume is not giving her any comfort to engage in any battle. Therefore, she turned deaf ears to them.

"I wonder what they see in each other!"

"Right, how can you get attracted to your own s.e.x?"

"Gay-wonders," one of the girls burst into laughter.

The other girls followed.

"Poor Giselle doesn't have a girl to dance with her!"

"Oh my G.o.d, it's better if she didn't attend the prom."

"That's so hars.h.!.+"

"Who cares?"

"How about me?"

The girls all blinked in confusion because the voice sounded different.

Turning their heads, they found Lillian Grey standing behind one of the girls. Her eyes emitted a menacing aura as she glared at them with absolute hatred.

"Lillian- It's Lillian Grey,"

"Didn't know you were here!"

"Oh, you didn't know, you poor girl, want me to punch you in your face so that all your senses can work properly?" Lillian asked."

"What? Do- Do you think I'm afraid of you?"

"Yeah, yes, don't think we are still scared of you!"

Lillian, let alone kept throwing her best glares directed at them.

"If you have time to talk about others behind their back, why not fix those ugly faces of yours. I'm sure the guys are crying in the bathroom, thinking how unsightly you all look right now," Lillian spoke.

"Talk about them or Giselle. You will see me kicking that horrible mouth of yours until it splits apart. Want to try me?"

Lillian's deadly threatening worked with the girls instantly running away, fleeing the place, as if escaping from the devil itself.

Lillian sighed.

'Even if I want to, I can't stay enduring all that s.h.i.+t.' – She thought.

Until a few moments ago, Lillian didn't care about the group sa.s.s-talking. However, when Giselle's name surfaced, Lillian didn't care about her costume or her conscience anymore. She doesn't want anyone bad-mouthing Giselle in front of her presence.

Without hesitating, she moved swiftly and stopped those girls from mocking at Giselle as well as Grace and Chloe.

Only after doing it did she feel relaxed.

Returning to her seat, Lillian sat. No matter what she did, the words of those girls specifically mentioning about Giselle not having a girl to dance with triggered Lillian Grey.

'I wish to go to the prom with you.'

Giselle's confession from the park that day replayed in her mind continuously. Lillian sensed her mood drop drastically, thinking of Giselle.

They haven't patched up yet, and there's an enormous burden of them not talking to each other for long time stays real.

"I'm back, Lilly," Diego returned from the restroom, alarming Lillian Grey.

"Wow, they do have a lot of cla.s.sic collections," Anna noted.

Nat King Cole's 'Unforgettable' tuned in playing.

"Well, these are so pleasant to listen too, don't you think?" Anthony asked.

"Hmm… yes," she agreed,

"Nostalgic-" Anthony uttered.

"What?" Anna looked.

"Nah, this song-" Anthony hesitated.

"What? Past Love memories?" Are you an old geezer?" Anna teased.

Smirking to her comment, Anthony admitted.

"First Love?" Anna guessed.

Anthony nodded.

"Wow, who is she?" Anna got curious.

"Are you seriously going to asking me about my past love story at this moment?" Anthony questioned.

Sensing the place and time, Anna dropped her questioning and focused on matching movements with her partner, Anthony.

"So," Anna spoke.

"So?" Anthony followed her.

Anna hissed.

"Then, what do you think of me?" Anna asked.

Anthony got taken back from her daring approach.

"Wow, you are so bold," he commented.

"Nonsense, I'm simply asking you if you are having a good time with me," Anna played along.

"And, what if I am not, how are you going to satisfy me, Anna?" Anthony teased her playfully.

Anna seemed flushed from his flirty words.

"Well, you look like you are already enjoying this, so I guess there is no need for me to do something else to satisfy," she replied.

Anthony made her spin with his moves and caught hold of her. The closeness destroyed Anna's cheeky att.i.tude. She remembered all of her tender emotions go crazy from this guy's play.

"If this goes on, I think you would fall in love with me," he exclaimed.

"Are you joking?" Anna resumed their dancing while was.h.i.+ng out all of her mental illusions.

Anthony chuckled from seeing her react this way.

"Alright, I'll apologize for sprouting those words. I just wanted to tease you a little where you don't snap back at me with your sharp remarks."

Anthony's response made Anna pout.

They continued dancing.

After a few more steps, Anthony spoke again.

"Perhaps, do you think that there's a chance for us to be a thing?" he asked.

Anna reacted as if she expected the question. She remained calm.

"I don't know. Until now, I'm having a great time with you. It's fun, but I'm not sure if you are the ONE, Mr. Model," Anna replied.

"What do you mean that you are not sure?" Anthony questioned.

"It means that I didn't fall in love at first sight."

Although Anna meant it playfully, it did sting Anthony a little.

"That's harsh, you know," he frowned like a little kid.

Watching the guy sulk, Anna couldn't help from stopping her triggering words.

"Come on now I meant, that I don't believe in love at first sight bulls.h.i.+t. Unless my heart goes crazy for you, I won't know, right?" Anna explained herself.

Even though her explanation seems reasonable, Anthony maintained an act of sulking. However, his silly smirk soon exposed him, resulting in Anna stomping on his feet as an act of sweet revenge.

"Stop it already. If my feet go numb, then you won't get to continue the dance," Anthony warned.

"Blackmailing won't stop me from beating your a.s.s," Anna continued to stomp him, but Anthony focused on dodging her attacks.

..

"d.a.m.n, you and your long, active legs," Anna cursed from the failure.

Succeeding in this silly fight, Anthony giggled softly. Anna watched him behave like a little kid. However, she joined him in the laugh as well.

"Fine, we will think about our romantic adventure later. For now, let's enjoy this night," Anthony proposed.

Anna agreed as she grinned brightly.

Melancholy followed Lillian Grey.

Returning from the break, Diego and Lillian retired to dancing.

Ever since then, Diego noticed the distressed look on Lillian's face. She appeared isolated despite dancing along with a partner; her mind seems occupied with something else. She exhibited detachment from the joyous activity.

Not only her mood seems to glower, but also her dancing faltered slightly. Her steps began to mismatch with Diego, and she delayed in her movements.

"Lilly, are you okay?" Diego got concerned.

Lillian did not answer, but as though she didn't hear him at all.

Diego tapped her gently once again to ask the question.

"I'm fine, I guess."

Lillian's careless reply bothered Diego. He worried if she got weak from all the dancing. He even suggested Lillian sit down for a while and rest, but she denied him saying that there is no need to worry.
