10 Preparation

"Summer, I need to go meet those mysterious guys who were present for the first time when I was in control of my power."

"No clue to what you're saying but get your a.s.s here before seven." Summer replied with a more aggressive tone.

"Stop acting like my wife, it's scary. I mean you, as my wife? I can't ever imagine that. You may be pretty and all, but I don't care, you're a demon on the inside who lives off my pain and suffering." Kigen gave her the middle finger and left.

"Sure." She replied sarcastically while in turn giving him the middle finger.

"Now that I've said that, how am I supposed to meet them?" Kigen asked himself.

A few minutes later, outside, after having a eureka moment, he began reciting a weird chant which was supposed to make him more alert and together as one with himself.

"Focus, focus, focus, fok-us…"

Doing that it gave the impression that he was fooling around, but to the contrary, this stunt of his was actually paying off. A white aura slowly started emitting from the scar under the right eye.

This sensation, it's here, the eyes changed yet again, a white and black aura soon after wrapped around him like linen around an ancient mummified Pharaoh. Once everything slowed down, he pounced just like a cheetah, which had been dormant ever so patiently waiting for the correct opportunity to spring at the unsuspecting prey. He began to run, his feet felt as light as a feather, the amount of information coming through all of his senses was overwhelming. As he got faster and faster, everything felt like it was in slow motion. Then abruptly, as he was running, a strange purple portal opened, it was here, the gateway to his conscience.

"Where are you mysterious ent.i.ty?" Kigen screamed out loud melodically when he entered the plain white room.

"Chill out kid, there ain't no fire to burn you here. Also, call me Mana. So, what are you here for?"

"Hey Mana, nice to meet you, well I'm here to learn about how to use my power."

"What do you want to learn actually? If you made it here, that means that you can willingly activate it and there nothing else for me to teach. Or rather let me rephrase, it's not like I can't teach you, I'm just lazy and you're a pain so no thank you.

"Oh, is that right, lazy are you? Fine whatever, is there any other way I can activate it faster?"

"Yes, but that's for you to discover."

"Well ok d.a.m.n, help me with this instead. How do I actually focus and contain this power or are you just ignorant to not tell me?" Kigen let out a smug smile, in hopes of provoking Mana.

"It's very simple, you did it once, all you have to do is focus and concentrate and to be perfectly honest, there is no training on how to use this power because its very nature is unknown. Don't worry, as you become more experienced it will grow alongside you." Mana answered.

"By the way, who are you actually?"

"I am the physical apparition of your subconscious mind which helps you to control your power," Mana replied with a smug look on her face.

"Oh, that's very cool."

"Indeed, now BEGONE THOT!"

Kigen was brutally shoved outside in the middle of an alleyway at full speed, thanks to his heightened reaction time, he was able to stop before hitting the wall at Mach speed.

"What was that about? I nearly died, I guess it's my subconscious after all, twisted as earphones."

The rest of the week went by in a blink of an eye, throughout that whole ordeal, Kigen couldn't get a full nights rest as the stress of Pyxie's location and in what state she was, slowly ate him from the inside, it was guilt, one of the most powerful emotions that could break the strongest and even most heartless men.

In an attempt to get rid of the chains which perpetually bounded his trail of thoughts to Pyxie's memories and how she was gone due to his fault, forced him to train and understand his power for the past week.

The training was rigorous, he was constantly emitting all his aura on a twenty-four-hour basis trying to master how it moved and worked. It was as if a kid walking for the first time, sadly it wasn't as easy as walking because the aura most of the time went out of control and he injured himself on multiple occasions.

The last day prior to the showdown, our hero was outside laying on the ground, breathing heavily as he held what looked like a semi manifested sword up in the air. It was plain white, no color, no shape, no esthetic but was sharp, extremely sharp, proof being the wall separating his house from the neighbors was cleanly cut diagonally. Thankfully, they were off on a family vacation which had lasted six months now…

"Kigen! It's seven now, get inside or you're going to catch a cold." Summer shouted from inside the house.

"Coming…" He reluctantly got up and made his way inside.

"Go take a bath, you smell like s.h.i.+t, look at your face, covered with dirt, your right arm is bleeding, clothes all torn. What the f.u.c.k have you been up too."

"Should I start crying mother?"

"Yes, you disobedient child, I'm not going to help you fix your wounds, now get inside already"

He just stood there, dozing off due to the fatigue of not sleeping correctly. Then "Baow" he finally gave up and fell at Summer's feet while sleeping.

"I swear this guy will never change, at least he's resting. I'll leave him for now, well I did make dinner so what's the harm in sleeping on the floor? Training, that's it… training." She left soon after whilst he was still on the floor snoring.

The next day came quickly, it was here, the final showdown was about to begin. Everyone was present with the exception of Cobb who was stuck on another investigation about a man beating his wife to death with a spoon.
