"I'll be back!" Ji-ho said with a wink. "I need to supply my body with as much energy as possible for the night!"

Yoona shook her head with a tiny smile on her face. She a.s.sumed his words were just an excuse for him to stuff himself with all the desserts on the table.

For a scrawny boy, he sure ate well.

Once his presence disappeared, Yoona turned towards Minhyun.

"Well," she began. "He's quite the character. Very different from anyone I've ever met."

Minhyun glanced over at the white-haired boy who was stuffing his cheeks with chocolate eclairs and sighed. "Don't remind me."

"Really? But you seem quite fond of him," Yoona teased.

"How? I don't recall saying anything positive."

She nodded. "That's true but normally you wouldn't let anyone get away with the same actions he committed."

"Oh that? It's not because I like him. It's only because of pity."

Yoona c.o.c.ked his head. "Pity?"

"Not my story to tell." He didn't want to linger on the kid further. After today, he was sure Yoona would not meet Ji-ho again anyways. Besides, it wasn't good to have the two close enough to gain attachment.

Minhyun glanced over to his left while changing the subject with something else. Finally, something caught his eye. He leaned in towards her ear. "Looks like the creatures have finally come to light. Stay prepared."

When Yoona looked towards the direction he was looking at, she saw a familiar face. Who was it again? After a few seconds the memories flooded back into her head. From what she can tell, he was the same man that she met during her last date with Jaemin at the art gallery. What was his name again? Ah yes, Mr. Seo, she remembered him clearly. He was the a.s.shole that thought that she was a gold-digger and a plaything for Jaemin. The one that tried to introduce his granddaughter to Jaemin in front of her. A despicable man.

He wasn't necessarily wrong about the 'plaything' aspect but nonetheless he looked down on her just because she was a poor female. She wondered what words he had to exchange with Minhyun.

"Mr. Chae Minhyun!" Mr. Seo exclaimed. He wanted over and brought out his hand. "It is a pleasure to speak to you. My name is Mr. Seo, the owner of Ignite Technology retail chain."

Minhyun glanced over at the old, pot-bellied man. "What is your business with me."

"Ah yes!" Mr. Seo said. "I wanted to perhaps talk to you and ask you out to a nice dinner to discuss perhaps possible contracts between our company. With my retail stores and the MH technology sector, we would do amazing together. Mark my words."

Yoona watched them speak about business. The whole situation was dejvu, similar to the time she met him with Jaemin. There was a sense of distaste on her face which she was unable to hide. To see him sucking up to Minhyun when he insulted her was unsightly.

Minhyun was not wavered by his proposal. "Speak to my VP of technology instead."

Mr. Seo let out a nervous chuckle. "Yes of course!"

His eyes frantically looked around, trying to find another topic for the conversation. He wanted to keep good relations with the CEO. If a weird looking child could do it, why couldn't he? After all, he was the President of a large company. Although it was nowhere near MH, he was an important man.

Suddenly, his attention fell onto Yoona.

"I remember seeing you Miss," Mr. Seo said. "You were the date of Mr. Moon Jaemin during the art gallery. Why look at you! So beautiful like an angel. After seeing you in such poor attire, you look much more decent in an expensive outfit."

Yoona huffed. So now since she was Minhyun's date, he was praising her as well? The pride that this man was willing to sacrifice for money was terrifying.

"Thanks."

Seeing that the young miss wasn't reciprocating to his words happily, he wondered if it was because she still had bad memories of Jaemin. Perhaps, he decided to leave her for another girl? After all, these gold-diggers were easy to switch around and throw away.

But to think she got the ultimate gold crown: Chae Minhyun. She truly had talent in seduction didn't she?

"Now that i'm seeing you with another man, I must say you are very talented. To land as Chae Minhyun's date! What voodoo did you use?" Mr. Seo didn't mean for his words to come off negatively, however, his misogynistic values were hard to hide. Especially since he was already nervous to be in Chae Minhyun's presence.

Minhyun tightened his grip around her waist. The aura around him blackened. The anger blazing in his eyes was enough to drive anyone crazy.

"What. Did. You. Just. Say?"

Realizing his mistakes, Mr. Seo immediately widened his eyes. The tension chocked his neck and he couldn't breath. "I didn't mean to insult you Mr. Chae Minhyun! I meant that she must be very beautiful and charming to obtain the hearts of extremely wealthy men."

Minhyun wasn't going to take his sorry for an excuse of an apology. It was clear Yoona was being looked down upon. He leaned his face near hers and sent a kiss on her cheek.

Yoona stood absolutely frozen.

Then he glared straight back at Mr. Seo. "Don't apologize to me, but to the girl I love."

Oh. My. G.o.d.

Did he just say what she just thought he said?

Her heart quickly paced and the redness on her cheeks could not be controlled. Although she knew it was all part of their act, she couldn't help but feel as if there was a bit of sincerity in his words.

On the other hand, Mr. Seo could not control the fear on his face. He had made the biggest mistake of his live. His body trembled.

"I-I'm so sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to say those words."

Minhyun wasn't convinced by his apology and nor was she. When he noticed the unwatered expression on her face, he lifted his arm and snapped his fingers. This signaled for the security guards to come to his a.s.sistance.

As a highly regarded guest, he had the power to control the whole gala.

While the guards were rus.h.i.+ng to his side, Minhyun noticed that Jaemin finally came back to the ballroom. The Moon family son was watching against the wall. Although there was a smile on his face, his eyes did not lie. They were full of menace.

Minhyun smirked. His eyes filled with amus.e.m.e.nt. If he recalled, Mr. Seo was one of the Moon family's important partners. It wouldn't be bad to show his strength off here to remind them who the boss was.

He pointed to the trembling old man. "Kick him out."

The guards grabbed onto Mr. Seo's arms. "Yes sir."

He could see Jaemin scrunching up his fists, a few drops of blood falling from his wound.

The handkerchief wasn't enough.

Minhyun was satisfied with the reaction. He wanted Jaemin to feel the agony.

For he was going to make both siblings experience pain a hundred times worse than what Yoona felt when they betrayed and tried to ruin her.
