Chapter 268 Seven Deadly Sins Once Again

Xiang Xiaoyu was covered in dust, hair sticking to her sweaty forehead. She looked ragged, but still stood her ground in front of the young girl who was paralyzed in fear. Before her was a leopard-type mutant beast. It hadn’t completely changed and still had a human lower body, though its face was half human, half beast, making it both unnerving and terrifying to look at.

She was defending herself by pelting it with more than ten rocks at a time through her Mental Power, but how could her low cultivation tier hurt a beast like that? As it continued its approach, fear showed on her face but she maintained her position in front of the girl, biting her lip as she stubbornly glared at the leopard mutant. If only… if only she was as strong as her brother.

This was her first time protecting another person. Although the little girl was a stranger, Xiang Xiaoyu wanted to step forward to protect her. It was only now that she understood how difficult it was for her brother to protect her.

The leopard’s paw grew larger as it swung closer. Just as it was about to hit her, her lips trembled, “Sorry… big brother.…” Before she finished, a powerful aura erupted and the mutant fell to its knees as if the gravity around it had grown by thirty times. Its eyes were filled with terror as it looked toward the source of the aura.

Xiang Ning’s expression was ice cold. He held a strange gigantic longsword with purple lines as he sprinted over. He didn’t know how many cult members he had killed along the way.

“Sovereign’s Throne!”

“Activate Eight Gates! Gate of Resting, Gate of Life, open!”

Xiang Ning’s aura was intensified to unprecedented heights, bringing an air of majesty about him. He hadn’t even been afraid in the face of thousands of beasts in the wilderness, he was the tyrant who faced them all alone!

A tyrant had arrived and the leopard mutant stiffened. Not even the mutant itself knew its instinct was to kneel. It was its instinct to bow to a king!

“Die!” Xiang Ning did not waste his time. When he arrived before the mutant, he immediately killed it. The mutant didn’t even retaliate, allowing itself to be slaughtered like a fish on the chopping board. It was as if it was giving itself to its king.

Far away, the crowd saw Xiang Ning with new eyes and heaved a sigh of relief.

“Who is JT? Why was a tier four mutant so submissive toward him? That isn’t normal behavior.”

On the other side, Xiang Ning’s teammates and Fang Rou were proud to see him being his powerful self. His incredible performance proved that she wasn’t wrong about him.

Other people didn’t agree. Xiang Ning was illogically powerful. He had just beat a tier five master, and was now bulldozing a tier four mutant. Was he a monster?

“Don’t be afraid, sis. I’m here.” Xiang Ning worriedly looked down at his sister, who was biting her lip. While his eyes were on her, three blades flew around the area, slaughtering everything in their paths. Just from the speed of the blades, one could tell how worried he was.

Xiang Xiaoyu didn’t say anything, but the little girl was looking at something behind him in terror. Xiang Ning furrowed his brow and turned to see three other mutants. “On your knees!” His roar, mixed with some Mental Power, was enough to pierce through hearts. Although one might not understand his words, when they heard the intonation, they would subconsciously listen.

Everyone who didn’t understand was in disbelief.

But it didn’t matter what other people thought. Xiang Ning shot around and stroked his sister’s hair. “Were you startled? Don’t worry, I’m here. No one can hurt you.”

“No, I… no… I just want to go home,” she said.

Then her phone rang. “Sister Xiaoyu! Sister Xiaoyu! Where are you?!”

Xiang Ning recognized the voice of Chen Zixin, his sister’s friend. She was panicking, clearly close to tears.

“Ah, Sister Zixin, where are you? Are you guys safe?”

“We’re very safe, soldiers are protecting us.”

“That’s good, I’m fine now. My brother is here.”

“What? Is Senior Xiang Ning there too? Alright, I’m not so worried then. Right, can I ask you for a favor?”

“What?” Xiang Xiaoyu was puzzled. A favor?

“Yeah. If Senior Xiang Ning is dueling, can you take a picture or record a video of it?”

Xiang Xiaoyu was speechless and could only reply, “Forget it, he has a girlfriend.”

“No, I just want to take a look at it every day, maybe learn something from him. It’s true, trust me! Wait, what’s this, can you hear me?”

Xiang Xiaoyu looked at her device, wondering if all the previous concern had been fake. They’re still fighting now, and you want a video of it? Suddenly, she said, “Hello, the number you have dialed is out of range. Doooo—”

She then hung up.

Xiang Ning was there the whole time. His sister was lucky to have a friend like Chen Zixin, though she had her quirks.

“JT, we’ve sent a squad in. Our team has cleared the surrounding area, please kill the three mutants immediately.”

“Copy!” Xiang Ning stroked his sister’s hair and pinched the girl’s cheek, then stood up. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.”

Twenty knives surrounded the two girls. Although they looked very sharp and scared everyone else, the girls felt no fear, only a sense of complete safety.

The three mutants were surrounded by several cult members. But they weren’t powerful enough, and were therefore unable to mutate just yet. They weren’t sure what happened to their lords, and just as they were at a loss, Xiang Ning had approached them.

The cultists didn’t notice how their three lords had started profusely sweating, or the way they trembled harder and harder as Xiang Ning grew closer.

How dare they touch Xiaoyu?!
