Chapter 13: Kaito swears to save

Anyhow, the rock boar barbecue party ended with everyone feeling greatly satisfied.

“Sena, thank you for letting us in your home. It was truly an exciting experience”

Sena seemed to be bashful, and waved her hands in front of her face.

“This much is nothing, as long as you enjoy it everything is fine!”

“When you say that, it makes me feel at ease…..right, I have something to talk with you”

“A talk? I wonder what it is?”

“Aah, about that...”

I Invited her to back of the tent, and decided to talk there in isolation. The content of this discussion were really hard to talk about but, I knew it was a road I must take if I wanted to truly save the young girl.

“That’s a lie right?”

I endowed her with the correct knowledge of Magic impediment. Sena were too overwhelmed by the information, she could only muster out those words.

“I’m sorry, but that’s the truth. Magic impediment cannot be healed by a mere medicine”

“..No way! The doctor said she will be healed after drinking the medicine! You see, Nao is all better and healthy now!”

“That’s just temporarily method to extend the period between spasms. It stops the mana from exploding inside the body but, the overproduction of mana won’t stop ”

“Bu, but, what will happen if this is kept as it is?”

“Mana is produced through consuming the stamina. Thus, if there is continuous over production of mana, than the stamina will continue being consumed. And when the medicine’s effect wears off...”

“...in the end?”

“An immense amount of Mana, enough to completely deplete the body’s stamina, is produced and explodes inside body, leading to death”

“Hii! No Way!”

Sena’s eyes goes went wild as she screamed in fear. I’ve explained it in a way that induce shock, but it's the true ending for those who suffers from magic impediment. It was same for my sister. That, tragic ending is still deeply engraved in my memory. I wanted to help her. But, the me, at the time couldn’t do anything.

“Sena, listen to me. It’s true that magic impediment is incurable but, I can...”

Suddenly, Sena shouted and gripped onto me.

“Right? It’s a lie right? You are just joking right?”

“Sena calm down. I’m saying, I’m..”

“Is it because I’m a beastman? That’s why your spouting lies to hurt me?”

“No, that's not true. What I want to say...just listen to me”

“Please stop with your lies! Please….don’t trouble us any more...”

Not good. She is under intense panic. Did I say too much… I should calm her down.

If I remembered properly, inside the medicine bag that I brought, there was a mental calming medicine, in a syringe form. It may be a bit violent, but this is the only way to calm her down.

When I came to such decision, the little brats came out of the tent and ran towards us in a great hurry.

“Com Come! This is big trouble nya!” “Nao is! Nao is!”

“What is it!? Did something happen!?”

Sena rushed to the tent after hearing Nao’s name being called. When I entered the tent after Sena, what appeared in my sight was a bloodied Nao, on the floor still coughing blood.

“Nao! Are you ok! Nao!”

Sena hugged Nao and desperately called her.

“Why...even though I gave the medicine in the morning...”

“...Big sister...am I going to die?”

“No...No way! Big sister will definitely help you so don’t worry!”

I couldn’t continue looking at Sena who kept rea.s.suring Nao, while crying, showing how she knew she was powerless against this illness.

I gently placed my palm on her fragile shoulder.

“Sena, I want you to listen properly. It’s true Nao’s illness is incurable. However, if it was me, I could heal it. I can definitely save this girl’s life”

“...Is...that true?”

“Aa, it's the truth. I’m sure you must find it difficult to trust me, who’s a human. You must’ve been hurt numerous time by humans. But, for now, I hope you can trust me and only me. Please.”

I bowed deeply in display of my sincerity and after a little pause of silence by Sena, she said this in a small voice.

“...I believe you”

Despite how messed up her face became after crying so desperately, she had a powerful determination in her eyes.

“Mr Kaito saved my life and there isn’t any other human who would bow down to us beastman, with such sincerity. That’s why, I believe you”

Sena then, bowed with a request.

“Please, save Nao!”

I nodded and smiled back in order to comfort her.

“I will definitely, definitely save her”

We headed toward where I dropped from Toyok.u.mo.

In reality, I could return to Toyok.u.mo from anywhere, but I don’t want to return in place where we would be under public eye.

Nao’s spasm stopped right now, and she is calming down hence, there shouldn’t be another spasm for some time. Currently, she is sleeping on Sena’s back. As for the brats, they mounted on top of Balaina.

“Umm, Mr Kaito, how far will we be going?”

I stopped and looked around since she asked with full of concern. We were currently deep in the forest, so most likely we won’t be under any public eye so this place should be fine.

“Alright, this is the end for our little walk”

“Eh? But, there is nothing in here...”

“Aah, this is not our destination. We will now climb up”

“Up? What?”

Sena who couldn’t comprehend what was happening looked up, and her eyes widened at the sight that awaited her.

“Wha, what is that….”

Above us, Toyok.u.mo who was called through remote control was floating in the sky. Despite how high the Toyok.u.mo was, it’s gigantic body that appeared below the clouds stood out to us who were on the ground. We must enter it and hide it behind the clouds soon.

“Is that… an Island? It is really big”

“It's not a island. … Well you can consider it an island as well I guess”

We don’t have enough time to explain each nitty bits of information. I took out oxygen mask from my medicinal bag for all of us and gave it to them,telling them to wear it.

“Alright, everyone wore their masks right. We are going to float now”

“Float? What do you mean by float?”

“...Something like a magic power,I guess?”

“What do you mean something like!”

“Ignore what i said. Just believe in me. Relax. Relax. When you realize you would already be arriving at that place in the sky”

I spouted something that I might’ve heard from somewhere, and started controlling mini gravity controller.

“Mini gravity controller, turn over the specified targets’ gravity. Bring us back to the mothers.h.i.+p.”

As soon as my command finished, we started to float.

“Wawawawa, we, we are really floating!?”

“What is this nya!?”, “We are really flying nya!?”

The three started to cause a ruckus, but it didn’t affect the flight. With this we should be able to safely enter Toyok.u.mo.

I looked at Balaina’s direction and saw that she was getting punched and pinched by the girls who were all excited. It shouldn’t hurt her that much, but it displayed a sad image.

Her face indicated that she had given up and emitted a grievous atmosphere.
