56 Eating At The Dining Hall Again~

I can clearly smell that the thief is here, but the sent disappears the moment I reach those three stone doors… Stone door…? T-this is no stone door!

Realizing what was in front of it, the crystal spider happily ignored the ghastly wounds it got in its escape from the giant tentacle monster earlier, jumping directly onto the closest door.

Starting to eat the stones that made up the giant door, the crystal spider felt the bottleneck blocking it from becoming a rank 3 demon beast slowly loosening.

HAHA, just you wait, you d.a.m.ned human thief! When I find you, I'll definitely eat you!

Laughing to itself, the crystal spider started biting more and more of the giant door off. Happily feeling its cultivation progressing further and further. Coming closer and closer to rank 3.

…

At the same time, Yang Meng was on his way towards the dining hall suddenly felt himself stop and s.h.i.+ver all of a sudden.

"Is anything wrong?"

Sofie, who had met Yang Meng on her way to the dining hall together with Xiao Yao, asked in a confused voice. Tilting her head slightly, while looking at him.

"Ah, it's nothing… I think a cold breeze just pa.s.sed through."

Shaking his head, Yang Meng answered in a confused voice as well. Not knowing why, he would suddenly start s.h.i.+vering all of a sudden.

"Okay then… Stop wasting time and hurry! We need to get to the dining hall FASTER!"

Finding out nothing was wrong with him, Sofie quickly urged him to hurry up.

"Calm down Sofie… n.o.body is going to s.n.a.t.c.h your food, the sect has more than enough…"

Speechlessly looking down at the desperate face of her little junior sister, Xiao Yao really had no idea why Sofie was hurrying them so much…

…

Entering the busy dining hall, Sofie quickly found a table with over a dozen empty seats, Yang Meng also followed close behind and sat obediently on the chair beside Sofie as both of them waited for a waiter or waitress to come and take their order.

Xiao Yao followed both of them and sat on a chair opposite of Yang Meng.

The only thing making Yang Meng and Sofie sit down and wait, was that there were no tables filled with food, which you could go up to and fill your plate. Instead you had to wait for a waiter or waitress to come and say what you want to eat to them.

This was pure agony for the two foodies, as they could only stare hungrily at the food their fellow disciples were eating happily, but not get something themselves.

"h.e.l.lo, what would you like to order?"

Like an angel descending from heaven, a pure and clear voice broke Sofie and Yang Meng out of their depressed mood, as both of them looked towards the waitress standing a little behind Xiao Yao with a pad of paper used for writing down orders and a gentle smile on her lips.

"This, this, this and this!"

Sofie excitedly said as she pointed at four different dinner menus, each having a small dish first, followed up by a main dish and then finally a dessert. Causing the poor waitress to be dumbstruck, as she didn't seem to comprehend whether what she heard just now was a joke or not.

"Ah, Can I get the same as her?"

Yang Meng did not seem to have seen the confused eyes of the waitress and asked for the same dinner menus as Sofie. From what Yang Meng learnt over the few days he knew Sofie, she most definitely chose the best food.

"… anything else?"

The waitress looked a little wary, as she turned to look at the last remeaing member at the table, Xiao Yao.

"Can I get a fire bat salad?"

"…S-sure… What else?"

"… That's it…"

"…"

Staring blankly at one another, Xiao Yao and the waitress soon returned back to reality.

"I-I-I w-will need to get the order to the kitchen, s-someone will be here with the food soon!"

Having her entire face flush red in embarra.s.sment, the waitress quickly darted away from the table.

I know those two eat a lot, but that doesn't mean I eat a lot. Okay!

Not knowing whether to laugh or cry at the moment, Xiao Yao helplessly stared at the waitress disappearing into the kitchen.

…

Impatiently waiting for their food to arrive for a whole thirty minutes, Sofie and Yang Meng was nothing short of delighted when they saw a waiter coming over towards their table with several plates in his hands.

"Fire bat salad?"

Looking at the three sitting at the table, the waiter asked as he walked over towards Xiao Yao upon seeing her raising a hand in response to his question.

The fire bat salad was a relatively normal salad filled with a few meat pieces from a fire bat, though Sofie herself felt like it was chicken… If she hadn't heard the name of the salad, she would most likely think it was a chicken salad…

"The Meat menu special of the day for you two."

Putting down several plates filled with all kinds of meat in front of Sofie and Yang Meng, the waiter soon disappeared. Leaving behind a few words saying that the other food would be here shortly.

"Looks… Good…"

Yang Meng almost started salivating as he looked at the meat in front of him with hungry eyes.

"Right, Sofi-"

Turning around to check on his fellow foodie, all Yang Meng saw was Sofie already stuffing herself with a steak located on one of his plates…

"AH! That's mine!"

Reacting at lightning speed, Yang Meng maneuvered the fork in his hand around the knife Sofie had raised to block the incoming attack and quickly stabbed into a steak on one of Sofie's plates, before retreating back.

"T-that! THAT WAS MINE!?"

Enraged at the sudden thievery, even though she was the one who started it, Sofie swallowed down the rest of the steak and counterattacked with the now free fork.

Sadly, for Sofie, Yang Meng had long antic.i.p.ated a counterattack to come. Consequently, Sofie's counterattack was quickly ended with a few skilful displays of Yang Meng's defensive fork techniques.

On the other side of the table, Xiao Yao peaceful ate her fire bat salad, while enjoying the show her junior brother and sister had decided to play out.

…

"SOFIE~!"

As the fight between Sofie and Yang Meng was on an all-time high, a loud call brought Sofie out of her current focused state of mind. Resulting in Yang Meng taking the opportunity to s.n.a.t.c.h a few pieces of meat from one of her plates.

Finis.h.i.+ng off the last bit of food on her plate, Sofie angrily looked towards the direction of the earlier loud call. Only to see Yue Wan almost having reached their table.

Feeling the aura of danger emitting from Yue Wan, Sofie quickly got out of her chair and sat on the other side of Yang Meng, being at the end of the table.

This way, the feeling of danger Sofie felt from earlier decreased a lot, as Yue Wan no longer had any way of sitting next to her.
