A small road was in front of them leading up to the top. There was not much other than rocks and a little foliage present at the small road leading up the moonlight mountain.

"Let's take a break here before we make our way up the mountain road." Yang Meng said to both Yue Wan and Sofie. Mostly sending a concerned look in the direction of Sofie, who collapsed on the gra.s.s beneath her the moment she heard what he said.

"Hah… D-do we have… Hah… any water or just something to drink?" Sofie asked slowly while laying exhausted on the gra.s.s gasping for air.

"Yes, I have some water!" Having finally seen a chance to get on the good side of Sofie, Yue Wan quickly pulled out a weird bag with a small opening.

The moment Sofie saw it, she felt something was wrong with it and didn't dare drink anything from it. Instead she turned around and sent a pleading look in the direction of Yang Meng, who could only let out a silent sigh as he pulled out a more normal looking water container.

The water container Yang Meng pulled out looked like gla.s.s and could be seen through. Inside of it, Sofie could see clear water sparkling under the sun or whatever weird crystal or formation was lighting up the moonlight mountain.

"T-thanks Yang Meng." Sofie said as she quickly grabbed the see-through container with water from his hand. Hurriedly opening it and taking a few big gulps, almost emptying all the water inside.

"By the way, what is this thing called?" Sofie said curiously as she looked at the see-through container in her hand. The container had a cylinder shape with a small opening at the top. Making it convenient to carry around.

Sofie had never seen anything like it before and the first thing she thought about, was that it might be some sort of magic tool like the tier 1 disc of fire.

"Hm… It's something called a water bottle… It's not really anything special, you can even get one yourself for free if you visit ask at the gathering hall…" Yang Meng answered in a slightly confused voice.

The water bottle was something used daily even in the villages surrounding the sect… How come she had no idea what they were…?

Of course, Yang Meng could never had known, that Sofie mostly never spend time outside playing with others and spent most of her time indoors playing with plus.h.i.+es. The times she went out of her room was almost always together with her big sister and at those times she would mostly go to some store for food…

This resulted in Sofie having little to no knowledge about something seen as common knowledge, she did not really have any friend, at one point she even thought all she needed was her plus.h.i.+es and her big sister…

"I see! So, I can get one if I go to the gathering hall? Hm… guess I will have to go there after we return to the sect grounds." Sofie said as she kept looking attentively at the water bottle in her hands.

"d.a.m.n fatty…!" A large amount of bloodl.u.s.t and killing intent leaked out from Yue Wan as she stared directly at Yang Meng with a murderous look on her face.

Yang Meng felt a s.h.i.+ver and looked towards Yue Wan, before quickly moving his gaze away… What had he ever done to provoke her?

Having no idea what he did, Yang Meng decided it was safer to stay closer to Sofie and quickly moved besides her. Thinking she was indeed a good s.h.i.+eld as it seemed Yue Wan wouldn't do anything with her nearby.

Time pa.s.sed and after 15 minutes of relaxing, all three of them were ready to move further up the moonlight mountain.

"By the way… Do we have anything to eat?" Sofie asked out of the blue after they began walking up the mountain road.

"No… I think we will have to wait until we get back to the sect grounds or find something to eat. Maybe hunt a demon beast if we see one?" Yang Meng answered as he started salivating at the idea of being able to eat an entire demon beast.

Sofie could sadly not share his train of thought as the only demon beast she had ever seen was a crystal spider and a fire bat.

Now that she was thinking about it, senior sister Ling Yue had talked about letting her taste the fire bat and something about it tasting just like chicken… How come she had seen nothing to that yet?

Thinking further along this line of thought, Sofie felt like she should pay her senior sister Ling Yue a visit after returning. Mostly to demand to be fed by her…

"WATCH OUT!" Sofie heard a loud yell and was confused.

Only to be pushed to the side by Yang Meng. Resulting in both of them rolling a few meters down the rough mountain road.

Not having any idea of what happened, Sofie slowly moved her now sore body up and looked towards Yue Wan.

A big body of what looked like an oversized stone was standing in front of Yue Wan. Creating small earthen arrows, that shot towards Yue Wan, who was nimbly dodging them by moving from side to side.

Before Sofie could even say anything, Yue Wan pulled out a long sword with a handle decorated with a beautiful wave pattern.

Sword in hand, Yue Wan channelled water qi into her sword as she slowly slashed out towards the big rock like demon beast in front of her.

The slash from Yue Wan was not even close to the rock like demon beast, but the moment Yue Wan slashed down a beautiful blue arc released from the sword towards the rock like demon beast. Cutting it in half without any delay.

Sofie was in complete awe from what she saw and amazed that Yue Wan was actually so strong, it took her some time to calm herself down as she gazed at Yue Wan with admiration.

"Sofie~ Are you okay? Come here~ Give big sister a hug~" The admiration immediately died down as Sofie quickly moved away from the path of Yue Wan's arms and hid behind Yang Meng, who had moved her out of the demon beast's way earlier.

Looking at the disappointed Yue Wan now laying on the ground, Sofie could not link her to the earlier figure of her fighting against the rock like demon beast.

"What was that…?" Sofie asked, hoping to get an answer.

"Ah, that was the rocky rock demon beast. They are normally hiding among rocks either inside caves or on the side of mountains like this one. We are lucky that this one was only a rank 1 demon beast, if it was a rank 2 rocky rock demon beast, we might already be dead…" Yang Meng said with a relieved expression.

"Rank 1 demon beast? Rank 2…? What is that?" Sofie asked in a confused voice upon hearing something new.

"A rank 1 demon beast have the strength around qi gathering and qi condensation realm, while a rank 2 demon beast have the strength of meridian opening. Let's move ahead before any other demon beasts gets attracted by the commotion." Yang Meng quickly explained as he hurried both of them to move forward.

"B-but… Food?" Sofie said in a pitiful voice.

"We can't eat something made out of rocks! Now come." Yang Meng said in a somewhat anxious voice. Clearly wanting to move away from the place immediately.
