82 They Called Her Awa

"We are your fans," Haoran said, smiling broadly. "My name is Haoran, and this is my girlfriend, Emma. She has a dream to someday work at s.p.a.ceLab. When I told her that I would visit the s.p.a.ceLab headquarters, she felt very excited and asked me to take her with me."

Emma held out her hand and greeted Ren Hanenberg kindly. "Good afternoon, Professor. We've met before. You came to the Cybersecurity conference in Singapore last year."

Ren nodded. He still remembered Emma. "h.e.l.lo, how are you?"

"I'm good. Uhm ... I am so excited to be here. Can you, uhm, be so kind as to give us a tour around s.p.a.ceLab? I really want to know how this amazing s.p.a.ceLab operation is carried out ..." said Emma. She looked at Ren Hanenberg with a friendly smile.

The handsome man in front of her nodded again. "Of course. You are our honored guests in s.p.a.ceLab today, I will take you around after lunch."

"Aren't they bothering you with their request?" asked Mr. Lee.

"Not at all. I'm glad to see young people getting excited about s.p.a.ce. We need more fresh blood in this industry," Ren Hanenberg replied. "Do you want to come too, Sir?"

Fortunately, Mr. Lee shook his head. He was so busy with various work matters that he refused Ren Hanenberg's offer. If he didn't say no, Emma would be forced to control his mind so he wouldn't want to come along.

After a little chat, Ren Hanenberg then left them to meet with other investors. He would order his staff to come and bring Haoran and Emma to his office after lunch, and he would take them around the s.p.a.ceLab.

"This way, young master, miss," said the staff politely. He invited Haoran and Emma to walk through a long corridor with a futuristic design. Then, he knocked on the door to the left at the end of the hallway.

"Please come in." Ren Hanenberg's voice came from inside to let them in.

The staff opened the door for Haoran and Emma and invited them in before he left them there. The two teenagers saw Ren Hanenberg sitting in his very large office and looked at them attentively.

The s.p.a.ce Exploration director's room looked grand and had large floor-to-ceiling windows with large blue curtains framing left and right. In the middle of the room was a large, luxurious table with a very comfortable chair.

Behind it, there was a large bookshelf filled with books in various languages, and the opposite was a sofa with a blanket folded neatly at the end. It looked like he was used to lying down or sleeping on the couch in the middle of work.

Just like Ren Hanenberg's taste on dark and formal outfits, this room was also designed to give a dark and serious vibe.

"h.e.l.lo. Professor. Thank you for having us," Emma said, holding out her hand to shake Ren's hand. The man welcomed Emma's hand and invited them to sit.

"This place is amazing," Emma said. "I'm here because you said that the s.p.a.ceLab satellite can help me contact my parents' home on the moon. Can you help me use that satellite here? I won't be long ..."

Haoran was silent in his place, observing the interaction between Emma and Ren Hanenberg. Apart from his father, he had never seen Emma control the mind of another human being. He was not sure what was happening now.

Is Emma controlling Ren's mind to give her access to the s.p.a.ceLab satellite? He could only watch intently.

Ren looked at Emma deeply and then nodded.

"You are very smart. You choose to use my access right here in s.p.a.ceLab, so that no one will suspect you," a smile etched on his lips when he spoke. He signaled to Haoran and Emma to come closer. "I'll show you how."

The handsome man then leaned his back on the chair and showed them the two large computer screens in front of him. His long fingers quickly typed something. The holographic screen to his left immediately turned on and displayed a satellite 3D model. It was spinning slowly.

Emma and Haoran came and stood behind Ren to watch his computer screens. Emma read the contents on Ren's screen silently and nodded.

"Is this the satellite? That's very cool," Haoran commented, observing the satellite hologram model next to Ren Hanenberg. He then turned his gaze back to the director's computer screens.

"That's right. This is the Pegasus 1 Satellite." Ren pressed a few more commands and entered his access code and pa.s.sword. He then glanced to the side and said to Emma. "You can enter the coordinates you want and see where it is."

"Thank you very much, Professor. I think I can take over from here," Emma said happily. She touched Ren Hanenber's shoulder and looked at him gently. "We need time to check something. I think you should rest."

Ren nodded and yawned. His face looked very sleepy.

"You are right," he said. "I will sleep now."

He then stepped out of his chair and walked to the sofa opposite his desk. Like an obedient robot, he then took off his shoes and lay down on the couch. His eyes immediately closed, and he slept peacefully.

After making sure Ren slept soundly, Emma and Haoran looked at each other. Emma immediately sat in Ren's chair earlier, while Haoran pulled one chair to her side and sat next to Emma.

"He's like a sleeping prince," Emma commented, smiling. Haoran immediately coughed violently when he heard the girl's words. Emma, who had begun working on Pegasus 1 control board, glanced at Haoran. "What happened to you?"

"Nothing..." Haoran said quickly as he patted his chest. He then tapped Emma's shoulder. "Let's just continue. We don't have much time."

Emma nodded and forgot her question. She focused her attention on Pegasus 1 to display the view of the coordinates she wanted. The Pegasus 1 Satellite quickly focused its camera on the coordinates that Emma wanted.

The girl gave Pegasus an order to zoom the image to the maximum so she could see what was in the coordinates. The second computer screen on Emma's right then displayed a zoomed image from the satellite camera, precisely at the coordinates given by Kaos.h.i.+n.

Haoran and Emma saw the surface looked just like a typical moon's surface. It was a dry canyon, and there was nothing special there. There was no sign of the s.p.a.ce capsule or s.p.a.ce station at all. There was nothing there.

The two exchanged glances.

"There's nothing in these coordinates," Emma complained.

"Try sending radio waves there. Who knows, the capsule might be hidden." Haoran said.

"Hm ... I'll try," Emma answered. The girl made several orders and sent a message using binary codes. It was the coordinate she received from Kaos.h.i.+n. After repeating it several times, Emma then sent a few more codes. "This is my father's name."

"Oh ..." Haoran nodded.

They waited for a while, but there was nothing happening. Emma stared fixedly at the computer screen, she couldn't wait to get a response.

"Maybe the coordinates aren't meant for this ..." Emma complained sadly. "Maybe I was wrong"

She looked at the computer screen with a disappointed face. After a while, she finally rose from her chair to calm down her palpitating chest, when suddenly Haoran held her shoulder.

"Emma .. what is that?" The young man pointed at the computer screen. Emma turned and looked at the direction Haoran's hand was pointing at. Subconsciously, she sighed in surprise.

"That's an incoming message!"

Emma hurried back to her seat and pressed the enter b.u.t.ton. On the computer screen, they could see the face of a woman smiling.

"I know her..!" exclaimed Emma. Her hand involuntarily pressed her lips. "This is my father's AI a.s.sistant. They called her AWA."
