I've listened to your feedback about the PDFs, and here's what I've decided. Since some insist on having the chapter in blog text for the instant google translate feature, I will first release chapters as PDFs, then release the blog text in the same post after a few days. People who want to read from blog text only will have to wait a bit longer for new chapters. This “gap” time is subject to change, however.

Blah blah, Yunruo finally receives Li Chen's gift! That scene where he just can't help but play with the rooster ornament was super cute.

Anyway, I think the big elephant in the room for most readers is “did I just read that Li Chen spent the night at Ji Huan's?” Okay, hold your horses everyone. I'm like 99% sure there isn't anything s.e.xual going on between these two. Why, you may ask? Because Li Chen sees Ji Huan as a talented individual that he can learn from, and it's the same way for Ji Huan. It's only the concubines and Qi Niqun that are warping everything in their minds, since they all know Li Chen is gay and they're jealous they can't keep his heart. Basically, what happened was this: Li Chen wanted a break from all the headache at work, and decided to crash at Ji Huan's place rather than worsen his headache by sleeping with one of his annoying concubines.

Every now and then the author reveals the mental turmoil Yunruo experiences on a daily basis. It's a huge change in tone when that happens. Also, I've got to say next chapter is a punch in the guts, but in a good way. You guys have been warned.

VENTING TIME! The last paragraph in the chapter that Qi Yunruo recites:

"…如彼大雲。雨於一切卉木叢林及諸藥草。如其種性。具足蒙潤。各得生長。如來說法。一相一味。所謂解脫相離相滅相…"

This is an ACTUAL BUDDHIST SCRIPTURE, and so is super fckin hard to translate into English. If you want a 100% accurate translation, venmo me 500 bucks. Thanks to mii for the help in this. I DID NOT SIGN UP for translating BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES.
