Chapter 426 - Friendly?

Chapter 426: Friendly?

Roar!

A large hole appeared on the wall of the store as a T-001 Tyrant charged out from it while roaring in anger.

Its large and muscular body leaped into the air, up and over a group of Heavy Armor Warriors who had raised their s.h.i.+elds in an attempt to block it. It held the head of a Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group Doctor player, who had just fired a shot from his medical pistol and was not fast enough to dodge, with its large claw before slamming the player’s head into the ground.

“-4234!”

The Doctor player’s head was crushed into bits and a bright and magnificent white light of death flashed across the room.

Roar!

Although two silver syringes were sticking out of its chest and the liquid from the syringes had already been injected into it, the Level 50 Tyrant continued to glare at the group and roared angrily. It raised the corpse of the Doctor player into the air and threw it towards the group of Heavy Armor Warriors, slamming into two.

Two players wearing the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s guild badge on their chest stood in the third-floor balcony inside a small hidden building. A two-person combo made up of a Sniper and a Scout.

The Sniper was observing the Tyrant Hunting operation through his sniping scope from several hundreds of meters away.

“Another one dead, that makes 23 in total.”

“Hey, that’s how the game is. The riskier it is, the better the reward.”

“A Tyrant is still a Tyrant after all. Even with the tranquilizer provided by the NPCs, facing it during the first dozen or so seconds when the drug hasn’t kicked in yet can still be pretty deadly.” Said the Sniper player while clicking his tongue.

“Alright already, Old Lin, don’t just look over there. Don’t forget that our mission is to stand guard over here and take care of all players who don’t belong to our faction.”

The Scout player was looking behind the Sniper player using the military binoculars, towards the outside. “Relax, Knight! The call by Veterans Tribe on the forum says that they will counterattack at 12 and they even asked the other non-guild players not to go online. No one has even come online around the area in the past few minutes. Even if someone were to come online, with our gears, the moment they get online and start attacking, even if they had Rare Grade equipment, we’d be able to take them out instantly.”

The Sniper player turned around and smiled casually. “That won’t do, it’s better if we stay vigilant. We’ve joined the rebel army camp now. If anything happens and we lose Silvermoon City due to their counterattack, the consequences would be quite severe…”

The Scout player used Detect with a stern expression and thoroughly scouted an area 100 meters in front of them. He squinted his eyes as he stared at his recon meter, which showed a bunch of yellow dots, which were monsters, chasing one white dot, which was either a player or an NPC. The white dot, that was on the street blocked by a building in front of them, was running towards their location. “Pay attention! Someone’s coming from 12 o’clock. Hurry up! Prepare to attack!” He shouted.

“Knight, you must be messing with me.” Said the Sniper player while turning around casually, not believing the Scout.

When he saw the screen of the recon meter, his heart tightened. He quickly moved his sniper rifle over and put his finger on the trigger.

Two seconds later, when the white dot entered his sniping sights, the Sniper player’s expression relaxed. “It’s a friendly!”

The person who appeared over the corner of the street across them was a Sniper with a golden dragon badge on his chest, same as theirs. The light green of the badge meant that they belonged to the same side, the rebel army camp.

“Just how many Elite Grade zombies are chasing this guy?”

When the Scout player saw that it was a friendly, his eyes also relaxed.

After looking at the eight yellow dots that followed the player, he frowned again.

The Sniper was running with a panicked expression and kept looking back while running, his combat uniform drenched in sweat while his face was covered in dirt; he looked absolutely wretched.

He was in such a bad state because he was being pursued by eight large and muscular Elite Grade zombies, howling and growling murderously; completely immersed in pursuing their food.

It was quite easy for players to escape from the pursuit of Normal Grade zombies. However, Elite Grade zombies were much quicker. Compared to the night before, the zombies of today seemed to have become faster after adapting to the environment, making it so the Sniper could not escape from the pursuit of these zombies and could only run frantically towards the two.

The two gunner players who were elite players of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group could easily recognize that the player running for his life was in the same guild as them, and did not have good equipment. Most of the items he equipped were only Fine Grade gears in the Level 40 range. He even had two white-colored Normal Grade gears equipped. The sniper rifle that he was carrying was only a Level 40 Excellent Grade item with average stats. With equipment at that level, it was natural that he did not dare to stop and fight those Elite Grade zombies.

“It’s a friendly. It’s probably a guy who came online today. What should we do, Knight? Should we help?” The Sniper player held his rifle and turned around and asked the Scout player behind him for advice.

Since some players from Veterans Tribe or other guilds did not go online the day before, it was natural that some players from Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group did not go online.

To prevent information leak, Roaring Dragon Light Wind only informed his core team about it. Although he later asked all guild members to go online through the forum after everything was almost set, many players had already gone to sleep. As such, many Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group players did not go online.

Since the players who came online today had not used the potions provided by the Umbrella Corporation, Foragers and zombies also pursued them.

“Help?” The Scout player frowned and hesitated. “The guild leader said that even if it’s someone from the guild, no one can enter this area without prior notification.”

“Then what are we going to do? If he gets over here while being pursued, we can’t shoot him just like that as if he were someone from other guilds, right?” The Sniper player rolled his eyes.

As an elite player from the guild, they enjoyed better treatments, more resources, and the admiration of other normal players. At the same time, they were also envied and hated by some others, even to the extent of being opposed by some of the normal members.

If they were to kill a normal guild member in a situation like this, it was probably going to end very badly. The larger the guild, the more complicated its internal structure.

“Let’s notify him loudly and ask him to change direction.” The Scout player said coldly after coming to a conclusion.

The Sniper player rolled his eyes again and got up from behind the hidden balcony. He shouted towards the player who was running away on the street. “Alright… Hey! You over there! Uh… Sorry to tell you this but…F*ck, he just cast Quick Sneak and is running over here!”

He became wide-eyed and dumbfounded when, while he was speaking, the Sniper player with normal-looking items was already looking towards them. After he saw them, he showed a smile and immediately increased his pace, charging towards the ground level of their building at maximum speed.

“What do we do?” The Sniper player turned around and looked at his Scout teammate who was already frowning.

The two of them did not think that their guildmate had behaved oddly, as it was natural for the first instinct and reaction of a person who was on the verge of death was to run over immediately instead of stopping to listen to what was said to them.

“I’ll report it to the upper echelon. We can only help him for now. It’s a good thing that Elite Grade zombies can’t climb over walls. With our current position, our output should be enough…”

The Scout player immediately reported the happenings through their comms channel. However, at the moment, the channel seemed to have suddenly fallen into chaos, resulting in being unable to hear the response from the other side clearly.

“What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with the signal?” The Scout player seemed puzzled.

At that moment, the Sniper beside him, shouted as his expression changed, “F*cking sh*t! Knight, forget about reporting it now! Foragers are coming over.”
