Chapter 250 - “Sawtooth” Stiletto

Chapter 250: “Sawtooth” Stiletto

“F*ck!”

“I’ve really seen it, there are such cruel people even in the NPCs of this game!”

Just then, a noise suddenly sounded above the prisoner leader’s head.

“Who’s that?”

His expression changed, and his gun barrel quickly pointed up. But at that moment, a silhouette holding onto an alloy longsword in hand had already jumped off of a nearby tree at his side.

Peng!

At the moment it landed, the silhouette—once again as if flying into the air—leaped using “Thunder Leap Slash” right beside the prisoner leader and heavily swung the alloy sword in his hand.

Pow!

The gun, which the prisoner leader did not even have a chance to fire, was knocked flying right out of his hand!

“An adventurer!”

Seeing the dark-faced person—not very tall and wearing alloy armor from top to bottom—the prisoner leader who’d lost his handgun finally had a look of panic on his face.

Even though he was an NPC, he knew that the increase in combat power that the opponent’s alloy armor could provide was not just one grade! He who’d had his weapon knocked away did not have the ability to escape from an adventurer with a Warrior second profession!

Almost immediately, the prisoner leader took a step backward as he shouted, “Wait, don’t kill me! I can do a deal with you!”

“A deal? What have you got on you that can be exchanged for your life…?”

Jumping down from the tree which Feng Luo had arranged for the ambush, still with some twigs and leaves on him for camouflage, Big Pineapple halted his actions. He had initially intended to attack straight away. For an NPC to actually come up with such words, it made him a little interested.

“You must be one with that Sniper!”

At that moment, the prisoner leader regained his composure and shouted, raising a dagger with a light red l.u.s.ter in his hand. He had just s.n.a.t.c.hed it from the second prisoner second right in front of him. “This dagger in my hand and that handgun you’ve just knocked away are, as y’all call it, ‘Rare equipment.’ These two items, in exchange for my life, is definitely a reasonable deal!”

“Rare equipment?” Big Pineapple eyed the dagger in his hand.

An NPC knowing how to use equipment to trade for his life? Nonetheless, after noting the selling points of the dagger in his hand, he concluded that it was, indeed, a decent piece of equipment.

“Old Feng, what do you think of it?” Big Pineapple said, speaking in a certain direction.

Feng Luo’s silhouette was already walking in from outside the forest. “Kill him,” he said. “These two things, together with the other things he definitely is keeping a secret from you, are all your prizes…”

“Right!” Big Pineapple realized that his thoughts had nearly been taken over by this NPC!

“You…” Looking towards Feng Luo, the prisoner leader’s eyes flashed with an aura of hatred, but he instantly suppressed it and shouted desperately, “If y’all kill me, you’ll earn, at most, 20 or 30 killing points! But if you spare me, there’ll be another benefit for y’all.

“I know of a place where there are a lot of people with ‘beastified’ characteristics on them. Plus, they’ve collected a lot of equipment, and the supply box is hidden there. I know you adventurers would definitely be interested in this! And I also can open my map and act as bait to help y’all lure people over. You must know that by now, anyone who doesn’t have killing points has certainly gone mad with the desire to kill. Spare me. Think of the killing points y’all can get…”

“‘Beastified’ characteristics? Rebel beast warriors?” Big Pineapple was on the same page as the NPC, smiling as he looked at Feng Luo. “And used as bait…”

“Yes, I really have value for being used alive! Y’all can confiscate all the things on me. I definitely won’t retaliate!”

As the prisoner leader said this, there was a tinge of hatred in his eyes. At the same time, he’d tightened his grip on the dagger in his hand, and his body had also tensed up a bit!

“If it’s really as you say… then we really could save us some trouble…” A look of apparent intention to compromise appeared on Feng Luo’s face.

Seeing the adventurer “take the bait,” the prisoner leader once again tightened his grip on the dagger in his hand, and his eyes displayed a sneer of satisfaction.

“Hmm,” said Feng Luo. “As such, you shall… hit the road!”

“Then I shall… what?!”

The prisoner leader had not reacted.

Bang!

−3022

A handgun bullet struck heavily against his unprotected forehead, instantly spilling blood. A red lethal damage number appeared!

Bang! Bang!

Feng Luo did not stop. The Silver Wing handgun in his hand fired two more bullets, similarly hitting the prisoner leader on his body, depleting all his HP!

“You…”

The dagger in the prisoner leader’s hand slipped out and fell onto the ground, and he fell backward with his bloodstained face full of shock and vengeance. As he died, his expression was identical to that of the second prisoner before.

Big Pineapple still had not reacted. He was only looking at Feng Luo as the prisoner leader fell to the ground. “Woah! Old Feng, why’re you so ‘sinister’? Taking action while talking! I was under the impression that you really felt that this plan would be fine!”

“Needless to say, it could be discerned from his eyes that he was pretending to surrender,” said Feng Luo. “I wouldn’t have spared him even if he was surrendering for real! Even if what he said about some rebel soldiers gathering together was true, it wouldn’t be possible for just the two of us to take them down! I’d rather continue using this supply box to set a trap and loot points one by one from those who come.”

Feng Luo had already seen that this prisoner leader had given him 40 killing points. In addition to the 20 points from the slim prisoner from before, another 60 points had been added into his bank. And now, his total points were already close to 900—another step toward unlocking the Pet s.p.a.ce Bracer!

“Right, search him properly. I feel that there are definitely more than just two Rare pieces of equipment on him,” Feng Luo said to Big Pineapple, who had already looted the prisoner leader’s corpse.

“Hey, hey, I know!” Big Pineapple retorted. Thereafter, he first picked up the dagger illuminating a faint red glow in the prisoner leader’s hand. Looking at it in his hand, he said with a smile on his face, “This dagger is certainly a good piece. But not much of a fit to your combat style. See if you want to use it!”

With a toss, Big Pineapple threw the dagger to Feng Luo’s side.

The dagger had actually completely pierced through the ground from just the gravitational pull on its fall, clearly displaying its outstanding sharpness. But this item actually should not have been called a “dagger.” Accurately speaking, it was a stiletto!

Enhancing Special Feature: causes double the HP damage, lengthens duration of HP loss by one!

Required Level: 45

Overall Evaluation: Perfect

A really decent dagger—especially with its a rare attribute!

“HP loss” was a stiletto’s special feature! Compared to the army knife, because the stiletto had a “blood trough,” when it was pierced into the human body, the resulting wound would put pressure on itself and thus be difficult to heal. The game displayed it as continuous “blood loss” damage.

The average attack power of War’s stilettos was lower than that of an army knife, but, strictly speaking, considering the overall damage, stilettos were actually superior to army knives.

Since the debuff effect of the stiletto’s “blood loss” required a long period of time—and could be healed by a Doctor or by using one’s own consumables, like lifesaving bandages and such—some players preferred to use army knives. Including Feng Luo, whose combat style demanded a complement for his talent of dealing the highest damage in a single attack. Thus, the blood loss effect of the stiletto was not much of a benefit to him!

Nonetheless, this stiletto’s attributes were certainly good. Perhaps it could be used as a spare dagger or put up for auction, where it ought to fetch a decent price.
