Early morning Joseph called Jacob. Jacob knew what Joseph had called him for. He knew that his friend was gonna be hurt again so for a change this time Jacob planned something...

First they went to the hotel to make reservations and talked about the special Happy birthday plan after all that they went shopping for buying a dress for Jenny.

As usual he was gonna pick a red dress for Jenny but this time Jacob suggested a new one. He said " For a change why don't we buy this beautiful white one ?"

Joseph liked white colour because it cooled him down and was sign of peace and purity. Before agreeing to buy the dress he thought what Jenny would look like in that beautiful white dress. He thought Jenny is as pure as white colour and it will suit to her figure and said " Ok pack this dress for me "

Everything was going as planned by Jacob. Thinking about how Joseph is going to be real happy tonight he smiled. Seeing Jacob smiled just out of nowhere he asked " Mind sharing your happiness with me? " Jacob was back to his senses and said " Oh you'll know soon about my smile "

At that time Joseph ignored Jacob and was only thinking about Jenny's happiness at that time.

It was almost evening Joseph went to kitchen and said " It's 7: 30 half an hour should be enough for you to get ready , right ? "

Jenny didn't know why would he say that and get ready for what ? Still she just opened her closet and asked " By the way where are you taking me to ? I mean according to that I'll get dressed'

" Oh I almost forget give me one minute....Here I've brought this for you I don't know if you'll like it or not because this time I haven't chose the dress ....."

It was a beautiful white shoulder off dress. Seeing that dress Jenny said " It's beautiful. "

Jenny loved the dress because back then she used to like shoulder cut or shoulder off dresses a lot.

At the hotel

They directly went to the roof top. It looked like a normal roof top of a hotel but it wasn't. Joseph said " I know it looks like a normal roof top of a hotel but wait till James arrives and you'll know why I brought you here "

It was 9:30 but James didn't show up at the hotel. Jenny was waiting for him at the roof while Joseph was smoking cigarette at ground. Seeing that Jenny went down and s.n.a.t.c.hed the cigarette away from his mouth and said " Aren't bullets enough to kill you at the border? What are you doing smoking here ? Wanna kill yourself ? Do you know smoking is even worse than doing a suicide ? "

Joseph was surprised to see Jenny caring for him but seeing her down at the ground and not at roof top he asked " Why are you here? Shouldn't you be with James ?

She said " He didn't show up till now he won't come now. "

Hearing that sentence and sad face of her he asked " So do you wanna go home or still wanna see what I've prepared for you I mean it's just you and me now "

" Ok " Jenny said with a gentle smile on her face

At roof top

"Don't get me wrong everything that you are gonna see was prepared for you and James but since he didn't show up and you gave Me the honor so here it is..,.....

The roof top which was looking like any other roof top changed into a beautiful place by just a clap. The whole roof top was now s.h.i.+ning with the white lights and beautiful red roses and a lot of candles were near the corner to make the atmosphere more romantic.

Seeing a candle light dinner and all these arrangements that Joseph made Jenny was overwhelmed she had happy tears in her eyes. Seeing those tears Joseph asked " What happened? Do you not like it ? I still can change it ! What is it the candles scent or the food or maybe the flowers ....

Jenny stopped him right there and said " Don't change anything ! It's Perfect "

Hearing those words he got relieved but was confused that if she liked the arrangements then why'd she cry so he asked " If you like the arrangements then why the tears are coming out of your eyes?

Jenny smiled and answered " You fool these are not sad tears these are happy tears no one has ever done such a thing for me not even James did all these things when he proposed to me "

Joseph was happy and wanted to spread the news by screaming" I am very happy this is the luckiest day of my life!!!!!" but kept his happiness inside.

Joseph asked " So how about dinner ? I am actually starving!"

Jenny nodded because she was starving too

They sat on the table. At first there was just awkward silence between them because it was the first time that they were having dinner together just the two of them no family, no friends and more importantly NO JAMES.

As the night pa.s.sed they were chatting and laughing and they talked this much for the first time.

From afar someone was watching them chatting and laughing. Someone was seeing that this time finally Joseph was real happy and wasn't drunk with the sorrow in his heart and was actually smiling not that fake smile that he shows when Jenny was with James.

Joseph saw his watch and said " Now it's about time. Ok cover your eyes I have another surprise for you "

Jenny was surprised that now there is still more surprise?

She covered her eyes and held Joseph's hand for the support and Joseph took him to the railing of the roof top and made a sign of 1.....2.....3..... and open your eyes

Jenny was surprised and was very happy to see the words ' HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY!!!' written with lanterns in the sky. It felt like Diwali night at that moment when she saw all that lanterns in the sky. Seeing the happiness on her face Joseph felt a little warmness in his heart. It was the first time that he had saw her happiness himself and from so close.

Jenny said " Ok after this if you say that you have another surprise for me I will explode from happiness. I mean like literally! "

" Don't worry about that this was the last event of the night " Joseph said

After all that they went home. The moment they just entered the room Joseph phone ranged ... h.e.l.lo! What ? Ok I'll be right there yeah I am coming there

Seeing Joseph's worried expression she asked " What happened ? "

Joseph answered in a calm tone " Nothing much there is just an emergency related to military matters. So I have to go now. Tell Mom that it won't take long I'll be back in an hour so she should sleep and not wait for me " Just after saying this he rushed through the door.
