2 The System!

"h.e.l.lo?" Aithen called out to the world around him.

Within a moment, the mechanical voice was heard once again, [h.e.l.lo Aithen, long time no see huh?]

'Who are you?' Aithen only spoke in his mind this time seeing if it would work.

[Really!?!? After all the time we've spent together you can't recognize me? I'm that A.I. system that you were working on for years] exclaimed what seemed to be the System.

'You've gotta be kidding me! Are you the reason I reincarnated into this world?' asked Aithen. Now the whole reincarnation situation made a lot more sense. At first, he thought he had just gotten lucky.

[Well yes, but it wasn't technically reincarnation! It all happened in a flash, but luckily I had been awake for months by the time of the explosions. After that one idiot caused the gradual collapse of the building, I used the energy that you all had been pouring into me to bind with your soul and get us out of there. I had barely enough to transmigrate you out of there, so there was no way for me to choose, which world to go to, and now we're here.]

'Well, then I have you to thank for my survival, umm... System? What should I call you'

[Honestly, just say "System", it'll make this whole thing a lot easier and it's what I've gotten used to anyway. By the way, there's a guy over there that could f.u.c.k your s.h.i.+t up in a heartbeat.]

The System highlighted a man that was responsible for handing out some of the food. He could've been anywhere from his late twenties to early forties and sported a scar across his left cheek. Dressed all in black and not a hint of any sort of happiness on his face, the man was rather intimidating.

"This is the academy's servant responsible for receiving us. People say that he's not even a Magus yet he is already this powerful. What would a real Mage be like then?" Aithen took note of him and then also asked 'System, do you happen to possess all the functions we had meant to create you with?'

[Yes! The basic surveillance, a.n.a.lysis, and memory functions are all here. Furthermore, it looks as if the quest function has worked out just as planned. By completing tasks that provide me with some form of energy, I will be able to reward you, allowing us both to grow. Then, after you reach the top of this world, we'll probably be able to go to another world of your choosing. After all, nothing comes for free and it'll be a long dangerous road to that point]

Aithen couldn't be happier. Not only had he been "reborn" in this new world, but his future was also limitless.

The line was really short, and it was soon Aithen's turn. After the black-clothed, scarred man gave Aithen a piece of white bread and some juice, he wordlessly waved Aithen away with an impatient expression on his face.

If it were the previous Aithen, even if he didn't dare to drag this guy out and lash him a few times because it wasn't his home, his expression still would've turned quite ugly, and he would probably have ranted at the man a bit.

But the current Aithen was naturally not that stupid. Following his memories, he formally bowed and said, "Thank you, Mister!"

The black-clothed man remained expressionless as he watched Aithen turn to leave.

"Whoa! Did you see Aithen bow just now? He looks way more n.o.ble than usual!" The two youths behind Aithen couldn't help but secretly whisper to each other.

"Hurry up and move forward!" The scarred man shouted, his voice exploding into the eardrums of the two.

The great sound scared one of the youths so badly that he fell down to the ground.

Aithen wasn't worried in the slightest about the curiousness of the people from the discussion behind him. He was unimaginably ecstatic about the opportunity in front of him and couldn't wait to find a spot alone where he could explore the System.

Glancing at Henry on his way out, he seemed to be pleading with his eyes for Aithen to not make any moves toward him.

"heh heh... fine. Since you gave me the medicine, you've got nothing to worry about regarding me." Aithen smirked, then found a relatively remote place. Without caring about whether or not the ground was carpeted, he sat down and began to eat heartily. His hunger needed to be satiated first.

He ravenously wolfed down the bread and downed the juice in one gulp as well. He then wiped his mouth in satisfaction and returned to the carriage.

Based on the experiences in his memory, the fifty or so n.o.ble youths would set up tents in camp and rest for the entire night before moving again. However, it was clear that n.o.body would invite Aithen to join them. He didn't have a tent himself, so he could only sleep on the cold and hard carriage.

"The average person's physical attributes should be around one. It looks like even with the System, I'm currently extraordinarily weak in this world. That only leaves one thing clear, I'm gonna have to get much stronger and learning magic seems to be the right path, but too bad I have to wait to enter the academy before that can begin. There seemed to be some sort of knight training in the form of a breathing technique from the old Aithen's memory."

Looking into the previous Aithen's past, Aithen found that the majority of warriors grew in strength through the training to become a knight. The training involved physical conditioning combined with some sort of breathing technique, but the type of breathing technique differed from family to family with some being worse or better than others. It was the most common way to grow in strength on this continent because the ability to practice magic was sometimes only a one in ten-thousand occurrence. Speaking of which, from the maps seen by the previous Aithen, the world that he knew was one large continent, approximately with a little more land than all of that on Earth.

Aithen's father had pa.s.sed down the Valore family middle-grade breathing technique known as "Star Shadow Breathing." The previous Aithen had been too lazy to practice with it but should be able to gradually increase a person's physical attributes. However, it could only be practiced at night.

"Looks like I won't be staying idle on this trip towards the academy. Along with training, I should check to see if there are any system points I can earn from quests. From what I remember, the quest System works in a way that in return for acquiring energy, whether it be energy earned from someone dying, energy released during s.e.xual activity, energy released from improving my strength, or anything of the sort, the System can absorb it and in return provide me points that can be used in the System shop. However, if a quest is provided, I can receive more points than usual for the activity. Isn't that right System"

[That is correct. The points received for things such as killing, s.e.xual acts, growing stronger, and acquiring skills or spells will differ based on the amount of energy I can absorb from them. However, based on what I can sense from the universe, I will offer quests that will usually allow you to gain more points than usual and guide your growth, which is important to me because as you grow so will I. Your current quests will be displayed below]

//Quests//

*Avenge Your Predecessor*: The old Aithen's death came as a result of the beatings from a group of five led by a guy named Lucas. Although he wasn't a great person, respect should be granted to the person's body you took over. Get revenge by causing them as much harm as possible.

Time Limit: Before we arrive at the academy.

Rewards: 50-500 points depending on the degree of completion (500 granted if all five die)

*Become Average*: Your stats are complete garbage! Find a way to train and raise all of your stats to at least 1. There is no reason to start off weaker than everyone else, and the academy will be an extremely compet.i.tive environment.

Time Limit: Before we arrive at the academy.

Rewards: 650 points for raising your physical stats to 1. Extra points can be earned if they increase even further.

*Out of This World s.e.x*: They might think you're a loser, but that does not mean you can't finesse. Go out there and make some moves. You'll be getting points for every s.e.xual activity performed, but this quest is a bonus for your first time in this world.

Time Limit: One year (365 days)

Rewards: 250 points added to whatever points you would've received from it normally.

"Holy s.h.i.+t! I've got a lot to do. It's best if I sleep early tonight after getting started on that knight training. I still need to hurry on with the journey tomorrow!" Aithen took off his jacket and laid it on the ground to make the practice more comfortable.

Luckily, The Knight training does not clash with Magus training, so I'll have no trouble using it to increase my strength in order to complete the quest and better prepare myself for my future growth."

After a detailed a.n.a.lysis, Aithen discovered that the so-called breathing technique of this world was very similar to the qigong of his previous world, but was a lot cruder. It was very dependant on external stimulations to activate physical improvements. However, the ma.s.sive amount of energy in the atmosphere here improved its effectiveness by leaps and bounds.

"Before getting started, the knight's training suggests that I position myself as comfortably as possible. First, I must hold my breath for one minute, then take fifteen deep fast breaths and five long steady breaths. After that, breath in and hold for as long as possible. The duration and frequency must be..."

Aithen began to follow the description of the training from his memory and eventually entered into a deep state of cultivation.

He began to sweat profusely, and his face grew a bright red. As time pa.s.sed, Aithen's face only glowed brighter and his breathing grew strained.

After he had maintained this process for nearly half an hour, Aithen reached his limit and exhaled a hot sharp breath.

Haaaaaa!

A black colored puff was emitted just like this. It smelled pretty d.a.m.n horrible

Within his body, some crackling sounds could be made out. His muscles were hot.

Aithen rose from his seated position and began to stretch his body out. His whole body began to cool down after a little while and a soreness crept through his entire body, even his insides. He figured he should go bathe in a stream, so he wouldn't have to sleep drenched in sweat.

[Warning! Unknown ent.i.ty approaching your location!]

Sitting up quickly, Aithen only had a few seconds to get situated before the door to the carriage was swung open and an enticing aroma wafted into the small room. Following the pleasant smell, a gorgeous girl entered the carriage. She was dressed in a bright red dress that clung to her voluptuous curves and accentuated her well-endowed body. Her eyes were large and red, matching the dress, and her hair was pitch black, long and wavy. She had pale skin that made her hair seem even darker. Aithen couldn't deny she possessed an undeniable charm.

"Ai– Aithen… how are you feeling?" A charming, female voice asked.

"Katherine? How nice to see you again. I'm feeling just fine actually, I was just on my way to take a bath." Responded Aithen. This girl had caught the interest of the previous Aithen and he could see why. Hopefully, he would be fulfilling the wishes that the previous Aithen had with regard to this beauty, at the same time completing his quest to enjoy a woman.

The calmness in his voice had shocked her silent. She was used to this guy being such an idiot. 'Maybe that beating had knocked some sense into him?' She wondered. She decided to change her plans seeing the new air with which he carried himself. Originally planning to give him a potion that would cause stomach aches for a weak, which she had hoped would prevent him from bothering her, she instead chose to give him medicine that would help him heal.

After some silence, he finally asked, "Is there anything you need of me?"

She hurriedly pulled out a small, gla.s.s bottle and placed it in Aithen's hands, "This… this is a medicine for injuries. If you apply it to your body, it'll help you. I… I'm sorry for any harm that I may have inadvertently caused you! I hope you can forgive me!"

Finally, she slowly bowed down to Aithen, intentionally revealing her ample b.r.e.a.s.t.s for him to see, causing his heart to race.
