Chapter 868 Fountain

After successfully advancing to the high-level Human Immortal stage, Chen Feng spent another month cultivating on the island. After his cultivation base had stabilized, he then dived into the ocean.

Chen Feng’s objective was simple. To find the source of the island’s fountain before slowly tracing it all the way to its main source.

For cultivators at Chen Feng’s level, slipping into the earth and soaring high up into the sky was as easy as taking a walk. The only danger he faced were the various water yaos and some unknown dangers within the ocean.

Naturally, Chen Feng would find it hard to believe that the quest for the Divine Domain Fountain will not be fraught with dangers. In Chen Feng’s opinion, while the will of Domain World could bless him with strength, collect the power of Heavenly Tribulation and channel it into him, there was surely no way it would simply offer up the Divine Domain Fountain to him.

Sometimes, the usage of backdoors cannot be too blatant.

Chen Feng’s body became like a clump of nothingness as it melted into the ground, descending through the small island as it headed down.

Chen Feng descended very quickly, spreading his divine sense out as he did. It did not take long before he left the small island’s area. However, despite having descended through a depth of 1,000 zhang, he was still moving through soil and rocks. He continued downwards, no ocean waters in his path.

Although the island was not large, it was actually connected to the ocean floor.

After just moments, Chen Feng was already 10,000 zhang beneath the island surface. He then walked out from the soil and rocks. He had reached the bottom of the ocean.

The moment Chen Feng stepped into the waters, he felt a mountainous and violent power descending upon him. It was such that his body ended up jerking slightly.

It is the combined force of formidable water pressure, the power of chaos and the earthen energy released by the depths of the earth. Only Human Immortals would be able to come here. Back then, Jiang Huo and Ye Lin had also come to the bottom of the ocean. However, they had to retreat after encountering danger

. Chen Feng then beckoned and the Domain Geocompass created a domain around him. Next, his divine sense spread out again to investigate his surroundings.

Not long after venturing forward, Chen Feng saw a gigantic wyrm lying within a grotto. It was in deep slumber, but the aura it emanated was that of a high-level Yao King.

Although it was in deep slumber, its breaths created surging undercurrents capable of shattering even hard rock.

Back then, Jiang Huo and Ye Lin had to stop here. I wonder, is it because they were lucky or is it because this wyrm did not want to kill them?

Chen Feng then cloaked himself before continuing ahead.

As Chen Feng’s figure was moving near the wyrm, it suddenly snapped open its eyes and two rays of golden light flashed out to leave two deep holes – seemingly bottomless – on the ground.

Chen Feng had been standing right there just now.

Seeing no one there, the wyrm grew puzzled. Golden light continued shining out from its eyes to sweep its surroundings and the ocean waters there turned golden in colour.

In the end, the wyrm shook its head and went back to sleep. Chen Feng remained still, waiting for some time before continuing to sneak ahead.

Behind the wyrm was a fountain. This fountain was much bigger compared to the one on the island and there was also more Divine Domain Fountain water within this fountain. Looking at it, Chen Feng was able to determine that this fountain contained roughly 10 drops of Divine Domain Fountain water. Not to mention, it was still producing more. Only, it was quite slow.

Chen Feng had no interest in this fountain. Not to mention, he also did not want to alarm others. His objective was to find the real Divine Domain Fountain.

Next up, he slipped into the ground again, advancing deeper ahead.

Along the way, Chen Feng found several more fountains. Almost every one of them had Divine Domain Fountain water in them. Only, every one of them was guarded by a very strong yao beast.

Chen Feng did not attack to snatch the fountains. Instead, he continued to utilize his stealth technique as he forged onwards.

The yao beasts he encountered grew increasingly strong. In the end, he even encountered one that was at the Yao Immortal (Earthen) stage. There, Chen Feng had to push his movement technique to its very limits and it felt as though his body would break.

No wonder the many fountains here can remain for so long. Firstly, this is the territory of water yaos. Secondly, the water yaos guarding the fountains are simply too strong. Even Earthen Immortals would die to them.

 Chen Feng was secretly shocked.

Chen Feng was in the midst of advancing when energy fluctuations suddenly came from above. Sensing that, Chen Feng instantly halted and he hid himself within another layer of space. His divine sense flew out and he sensed two cultivators surrounded by several water yaos.

The two cultivators were Earthen Immortals. They must have found out about the existence of the Divine Domain Fountain and come here. However, the water yaos had detected and besieged them.

Sou! Sou! Sou!

Several more water yaos – emanating formidable auras – dashed past Chen Feng. These water yaos were those residing deeper down, possessing even greater cultivation bases.

In the face of the siege, the two Earthen Immortals were violently pummelled to death. After that, the water yaos returned to their lairs.

They seemed very proficient at it.

During all that, Chen Feng did not take action to snatch away any of the fountains. Once again, he was uninterested in them and he also did not want to alarm the water yaos. Doing so would only end up attracting the attention of the water yaos in advance.

Getting besieged by so many water yaos was not a good thing. Moreover, there were also a high number of Yao Immortals amongst them.

If Jiang Huo and Ye Lin had come here, they would have died.

If the Divine Domain Fountain is guarded by a Yao Overlord, then this will be one hell of a day.

It did not take long before Chen Feng saw another fountain. This time, Chen Feng came to a halt, his eyes trained upon the fountain from afar.

This fountain could already be qualified to be called a spiritual fountain. With a radius of 10 zhang, eight colours flashed as the fountain waters flowed about. It was an entrancing sight to behold.

Instantly, Chen Feng could tell that the Divine Domain Fountain water within this fountain had reached a certain level of concentration.

Not far away from the fountain was a water yao the size of a small mountain. It lay there, seemingly in a slumber. However, it was in fact cultivating itself. It was cultivating using a type of breath-regulating technique and the water from the spiritual fountain kept flowing out before entering the water yao’s body.

Every time a stream of fountain water was absorbed, a ray of colourful light would flash out from the spiritual fountain to enter the water yao’s body as well.

The water yao was a Yao Immortal, the equivalent of a starter-level Earthen Immortal.

By utilizing his magic treasure, Chen Feng would be able to instantly kill off this water yao and snatch the spiritual fountain. However, he resisted the desire to do so.

He ventured deeper, finding fountains of increasingly better grade. In the end, the spiritual fountains he found shone with a gem-like lustre.

Chen Feng was completely tantalized and even the Eight Trigram acupoints within his body were stirring. He wanted nothing more than to rush forward and devour all of the spiritual fountains there.

Even the Domain Tree inside the Longevity Tower was shaking. It was constantly bombarding Chen Feng with a yearning notion.

Endure! Endure! We haven’t found the main one.

Chen Feng’s objective was the main fountain.

The water yaos he encountered along the way grew increasingly strong and Chen Feng dared not even release his divine sense, fearing that he would alarm them.

He relied on his flawless stealth technique and the Longevity Steps to constantly make his way through the water yaos’ territories. In the end, however, he stopped.

He could no longer advance. There were four water yaos in front of him. These four water yaos were at the mid-level Earthen Immortal stage and their formidable auras enveloped their surroundings to form an energy barrier. It was a very big barrier that completely blocked Chen Feng’s path. There was no way for him to sneak in. If he wanted to enter, he would have to break through. However, that would instantly alarm them.

That was why Chen Feng had halted. It was not because they had detected him.

Resting in the middle of the four water yaos was a fountain. It was not a particularly big fountain. However, it looked like a dazzling gemstone. The domain power contained within it was such that Chen Feng grew restless. Due to that, Chen Feng had to divert some power to suppress his blood streams and Eight Trigram acupoints.

Those fellows actually set up a barrier. This will be difficult.

 Chen Feng frowned.

There were four Yao Immortals equivalent to the mid-level Earthen Immortal stage. In a one-on-one battle, Chen Feng was confident he could fight them. He had advanced to the high-level Human Immortal stage, after all. Even fighting two at once for a moment was possible for him. Rather, he was confident in his ability to retreat safely even in the face of the four Yao Immortals. However, that would mean alarming the rest. Should that happen, he would no longer be able to obtain the Divine Domain Fountain.

Chen Feng’s mind raced as he kept formulating one plan after another. However, none of them felt feasible.

Not to mention, even if he did succeed in doing this, even stronger water yaos would appear.

At that very moment, Tower was asleep and incapable of assisting Chen Feng. Due to that, Chen Feng would have to figure a way to do this himself.

A direct action is definitely impossible. I must figure a way to lure the four water yaos away first

. Chen Feng pondered again. Finally, he thought of something.

Chen Feng’s figure shook and a semi-transparent silhouette emerged from his body. After gaining a clear appearance, it was revealed that the silhouette looked identical to Chen Feng.

A pity, I have never created a clone before. I will have to resort to this trick. I wonder if this can work?

This was a cloning technique. Chen Feng had never cultivated it before in the past. In fact, this was his first time using it. It contained the power of the void, actual, yin and yang. Additionally, it was also wielding a Longevity Lance augmented by the power of an Immortal artefact. Due to that, its combat power was already higher compared to an unarmed Chen Feng.

Sou!

Chen Feng and his clone took action simultaneously. Chen Feng ducked backwards to hide himself because he knew that a big battle would be erupting soon.

The clone brandished the Longevity Lance and charged in a straightforward manner.

Sou!

As the Longevity Lance was augmented by the power of the Netherbone Lance, it contained a trace of nether power. Thus, it instantly succeeded in piercing and breaking the barrier.

“Who?!”

The four water yaos shouted at the same time. However, only one of them attacked while the other three remained at the same spot. Opening its mouth, the water yao sent forth clumps of power of water, which swiftly grew in size as they transformed into countless bubbles. The bubbles then surrounded Chen Feng’s clone.

Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!

The Longevity Lance thrust forward repeatedly to burst all of the bubbles. However, the instant the bubbles were destroyed, the water yao’s next attack arrived.

Sharp talons, shining with black light, arrived before Chen Feng’s clone. At the same time, the other three water yaos sprayed out a stream of energy each to seal off every escape route for the clone.

Chen Feng’s clone had fallen into a siege and the situation appeared somewhat dire.
