He’s entered the second layer of the killing arrays.

Xue Luosha could sense Chen Feng’s movements. 

I broke through a total of four layers of killing arrays and took all the items inside. He must be disappointed. I sure hope I can see his face. It will surely be very amusing to watch

. Xue Luosha smiled.

It had been a while since Xue Luosha first discovered this spatial crevice. She had also explored and looted some of the items inside it. Then, she would leave some magic arrays within each layer. That was how she could sense Chen Feng’s movements the moment he entered.

However, she had only managed to explore up to the fourth layer. She was seriously wounded on the fifth layer. Thus, she did not know what was inside the fifth or deeper layers. 

Naturally, Xue Luosha was hoping that Chen Feng would die inside.

He’s already reached the third layer! So fast!

 Xue Luosha’s face sank and she stopped her cultivation session.

So fast. This cannot be.

Although Xue Luosha had lost to Chen Feng horribly back then, she believed that Chen Feng was not that much stronger than her. If she weren’t injured back then, or if she had been able to utilize some more of her other techniques, the results could have been different.

The killing array here is a little interesting

. By then, Chen Feng had already reached the third layer. Along the way, he had failed to gain any items.

That said, it was not a fruitless journey. For Chen Feng, this was a decent training session.

Unlike the previous two layers, the third layer had actual solid ground for its terrain. This time, it was an illusion array and killing mechanisms enveloped the layer. More, they were strange and hard to predict. Several times, Chen Feng had nearly fallen prey to them.

Wu! Wu! Wu! Wu! Wu!

There were craggy and strange-looking rocks all around him and the sounds of whining winds flowed in. Like the cries of ghosts, it was capable of striking fear into one’s heart. Then, in the blink of an eye, all of it disappeared, transforming into the sounds of iron and horses. It felt as though there were countless soldiers and horses barrelling their way forward.

Chen Feng’s eyes shone like torches and he kept retreating, the Immortal Slaughter Sword in hand to defend himself. He slashed down the blades that were silently emerging from space. Occasionally, streams of light would flow out from his eyes and the landscape before him would change non-stop.

The illusions here are truly formidable. Reality and falsehoods are interwoven, making it difficult to guard against. If I hadn’t cultivated out the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight, I would not have been able to defend against these ghostly attacks.

During that time, Chen Feng had also attempted to attack the strange-looking rocks, but it did nothing. Upon shattering apart, the strange rocks would reform themselves. Either that or the strange rocks would be revealed as part of the illusion.

Due to how formidable the illusion was, there was nothing Chen Feng could do about it. All he could do was to find the right path and move forward, otherwise he would be trapped there.

In the face of the illusions, Chen Feng had to rely on his eye technique. Naturally, Chen Feng also wanted this. The more difficult it was, the more he could train himself.

The illusion array on the third layer managed to take up more of Chen Feng’s time. This time, Chen Feng had wanted to test his state of mind and rate of reaction. Thus, he did not resort to his more formidable killer moves. Rather, he relied mostly on his eye technique to find the way forward. He would only attack when he himself was under attack.

Time went by swiftly. As Chen Feng had the power of the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight on his side, the illusions there were simply incapable of entrapping him. However, Chen Feng had wanted to study the structure of illusions there some more. Thus, he chose to stay there a while longer. 

Is he trapped inside the third layer? His eye technique appears formidable. The third layer should not have been able to stop him

. Xue Luosha grew surprised. Although she wanted Chen Feng to die, she had to admit that Chen Feng was strong. 

Hopefully, I will be able to obtain something in the next layer

. Finally, Chen Feng entered the next layer of the killing arrays.

It was pitch-black, with no direction or the concept of time. Then, stars began emerging. Some swiftly moved closer and some swiftly moved farther away and their numbers kept rising. As for Chen Feng, he hovered in the midst of them all as the stars kept shining around him, changing places ceaselessly. Even though he could see the stars, he could not reach them.

Chen Feng then stepped forward. With his present level of strength, every step could bring him tens of thousands of li forward. And yet, despite having spent a long time moving forward, the stars remained around him.

No danger had befallen him. However, he was incapable of making it out from this region of stars. 

This was a killing array formed using the power of stars.

The quieter his surroundings became, the louder the warning cry coming from Chen Feng’s heart grew.

Chen Feng’s eye power surged and it furiously swept out into his surroundings like a tsunami. Everything around him became transparent to his eyes. With the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight, Chen Feng could even casually see through space.

A starry killing array, huh?

Chen Feng’s gaze swept out and one stream of light after another shot forward to extinguish the surrounding stars without respite. However, even more stars appeared. Seeing that, Chen Feng did not give up. Instead, his eye power kept rising and an entire stretch of stars was destroyed.

After one joss stick’s worth of time, Chen Feng stopped. He knew that he would not be able to deal with the surrounding stars in such a manner. Not unless his strength had reached a certain level, allowing him to break through in one fell swoop.

Earlier, it was an illusion array. And now, it’s a disorientation array

. After walking forward for a while, Chen Feng then halted and began cultivating himself there.

His Tristar acupoints flashed non-stop to furiously absorb the surrounding power of stars.

Given Chen Feng’s present level of strength, one breath’s worth of time was enough for him to absorb vast amounts of the power of stars. Even so, it was clear that it was not sufficient for the present situation. But Chen Feng also had a magic treasure forged using the power of stars. It was the Bedazzling Star Map, a pseudo-Divine artifact.

And so, the layer of space there was completely stirred up by Chen Feng’s actions. At any rate, there were still some highly formidable killing arrays and killing mechanisms hidden inside.

Only, due to the rapid disappearance of the power of stars, the killing mechanisms also kept weakening before dissipating away.

After having devoured all the power of stars there, however, Chen Feng remained unsatisfied.

Once again, Chen Feng was left disappointed. This layer of space was also empty, not even a crumb was left behind for Chen Feng.

Despicable! That damned woman. I am beginning to regret letting her off.

 Chen Feng grew enraged, but he moved on to enter the next layer of the killing array.

What, he has disappeared from the killing array on the fourth layer! Did he make his way through it? How is it possible?

 Xue Luosha, who had been secretly keeping tabs on the situation, jumped to her feet. There was a look of disbelief on her face. As she had entered the fourth layer before, she knew just how terrifying the starry killing array was.

With that, Xue Luosha was no longer capable of just remaining still. After considering it for a moment, she ventured into the spatial crevice as well. The first layer, second layer, third layer, all the way to the fourth layer.

Highly vigilant, Xue Luosha entered the fourth layer fully expecting a tough battle only to grow shocked. This, was not how she remembered it. The starry killing array aside, no other powers were left inside, not even a strand.

“Could it be?” Xue Luosha’s face suddenly paled. She had figured out how Chen Feng did it.

This fellow has so many pseudo-Divine artifacts on him. And yet, he had still tried to take advantage of me. Still, this is a good method. Why didn’t I think about it before? This is bad! He has entered the fifth layer. Wouldn’t the treasures on the fifth layer end up in his hands?

 Having reached that line of thought, flames burst out from Xue Luosha’s eyes. Then, gritting her teeth, she entered the fifth layer of the killing array as well.

As predicted, the fifth layer was empty. Even the killing array that should have been there had disappeared. Although Xue Luosha did not know what kind of treasures there were, she was still feeling greatly tempted. Given her past experience with the treasures in the past few layers, the stronger the killing array, the higher the grade of the treasures inside would be. Thus, thinking about how the treasures here had fallen into Chen Feng’s hand, Xue Luosha felt rage building up within her.

At this moment in time, Xue Luosha had fully recovered and her cultivation base had returned to its peak. She would not longer feel fearful if she had to face Chen Feng again. Rather, she was even thinking about washing away the shame.

If so, I will enter the sixth layer.

 Xue Luosha then headed straight for the sixth layer of the killing array.

Upon entering, Xue Luosha instantly felt an overwhelming wave of pressure. Back then, due to some reasons, Xue Luosha had only made it to the fourth layer. Even so, Xue Luosha also knew of the price needed to make it to the fourth layer. And now, she was entering the sixth layer. She could already imagine just how difficult it would be.

These are lightning powers.

 Xue Luosha frowned. After just a brief moment, her fleshly body began charring. She knew then that the lightning powers there had exceeded the limits of what she could endure.

Boom!

Due to the killing array, Xue Luosha was attacked by the lightning powers the instant she entered. If it weren’t for the fact that she had swiftly brought out her pseudo-Divine artifact, this first wave of attacks would have wounded her.

This is Divine Chaos Lightning, the lightning born during the birth of the universe!

 Xue Luosha became astounded. She knew then that she could not endure lightning power at this level.

However, a thought flashed through her mind. Perhaps she could do it. The fiery-red suit of armour emerged over her body to block the lightning attacks and the battle lance in her hand swung out to block the attacks from the killing array.

Heh! This woman actually came in.

Chen Feng was standing in the middle of the killing array, not doing anything at all. Instead, he allowed the surrounding Divine Chaos Lightning to bombard him. For others, the Divine Chaos Lightning was a lightning of devastation. But for Chen Feng, it was highly attractive. There was no better place for cultivation. 

To think that I would encounter the Divine Chaos Lightning here. This is a pure cosmic essence power. Moreover, it is the lightning type. Not only can it help me temper my body, it can also help me cultivate out the Chaos Constitution.

 It had been a while since Chen Feng entered the sixth layer. In addition to enduring the bombardment of the lightning powers around him, Chen Feng would also utilize the Heavengulping Absorption Technique to absorb certain amounts of the Divine Chaos Lightning into his body.

Chen Feng had noticed Xue Luosha the moment she entered. And so, Chen Feng retracted all signs of life into his body, finally compressing it all into one insight acupoint. Due to that, he became like a lifeless rock.

As a result, the powers that were bombarding Chen Feng shifted their focus to attack Xue Luosha instead.

After just a brief moment, Xue Luosha ended up in a seriously wounded state. She grew resentful. She knew that Chen Feng was within this layer as well. She also suspected that Chen Feng was behind this. And yet, there was nothing she could do. The Divine Chaos Lightning was simply too strong. 

After enduring for a while, Xue Luosha finally gave up and retreated to the fifth layer.

Seeing Xue Luosha leave, Chen Feng continued with his cultivation.

However, not long after that, Xue Luosha, who had recovered, entered again. Once she entered, she shouted, “Fellow cultivator, please reveal yourself. I have something to say.”

Chen Feng responded by swiftly retracting all signs of life into his body and the Divine Chaos Lightning became like a great river, smashing against Xue Luosha.

This time, Xue Luosha was only able to remain inside the killing array for one breath’s worth of time before becoming seriously wounded. Although her hatred for Chen Feng had risen to the extreme, there was nothing she could do but to leave as fast as she could.
