28 Chapter 27: Pendant And A Chain

[Oddly satisfying.] Thought Atlas as he absorbed the rich Aura within the leaf. There were no leakage or whatever, entirely flowing into his meridian. The Third meridian. When he previously entered a state of ataraxy, it felt like filling a bottle with drops of water. However, it now feels like the water tap went berserk, overfilling it. The tiny spoon used to scoop out the barrier has now evolved into a ma.s.sive bulldozer, ramming into the wall. Over and over again!

An itch in his brain irritated him. He sensed a flash in his eyes, and his Third Eye initiated automatically. Sharp steel soaked in cloudy Aura, frustration emitting from Charles, his beard swaying with every step. Uneasiness whacked Atlas in the head, the Spiritual Energy generated in his mind glimmered with fatigue. However, the pendant that never reacted after eating Nam's soul started to quiver, producing icy chills to gift him a brain freeze. But with pain, there was gain. His Spiritual Energy flared like an inferno, pumping in rushes of adrenaline to his physical body.

[Axonn. So this is what it feels like to be an Axonn.]

Charles dug his feet into the earth, securing his stance before bas.h.i.+ng the axe at Atlas like swinging a baseball bat. Coincidentally, the axe made contact with the pendant and sent Atlas soaring into the sky, unharmed from the strike.

Atlas felt the heftiness that accompanied him for 17 years loosen off. He caught the golden pendant mid air with one hand and the necklace chain with the other extremely fast and precisely. The moment his skin touched the cold, hard necklace chain, it magnified, increasing to 2 meters long. Instinctively, Atlas swung the chain towards Charles. It magically extended to about 2 chains, a length of 40 meters, covering the distance apart.

(In case you don't know, chain is a measuring unit of 20.1 meters)

Witnessing the necklace speeding towards him after its transformation, Charles heaved the axe up to his chest to defend. But like a limber snake, it tangled around the belly of the wooden handle, tightening with a loud clang. With a forceful yank, the axe came off his grip, smas.h.i.+ng into the ground.

Despite the momentum from Charles attack, Atlas's body halted in an instant, the chains straining hard on his left hand. The weight of Kent axe prevented Atlas from soaring further away, but it left a burning sensation on his skin.

[What the frick! Is that like a weapon of Thor's? Stormbreaker? Is that you?] Those were Atlas's thoughts before he pummeled onto the gra.s.s field, dazed.

He sensed a jerk on his chain.

"What the?"

The chain started to shrink, causing Atlas to gra.s.s ski all the way, tasting soil. He booted off the ground to obtain balance while increasing speed, lilac purple energy surging in his left palm.

Manipulating Aura to concoct multiple claw like object, Charles pounced at Atlas, the claws leading ahead. Rapidly, their distance shortened.

"Taste my white stuff b*tch!" The lilac purple substance acc.u.mulated detonated from his palms, discharging a twisted frenzy ray of electrifying Aura. The Aura claws of Charles obliterated into the air, updating the cycle of Aura in the atmosphere. He stood no chance against the violent paroxysm of the charge beam as his flesh vanished from immediate contact with it, leaving no time for a m.u.f.fled cry of agony to convey the despair and regret ill.u.s.trated in Charles eyes.

Heavy void of silence was all that remained in the gra.s.s field. The moonlight faintly illumined the wreck, joining in with the street lamps.

"Purple?" Atlas gasped at the scene of an Axonn zapping into oblivion. "Well that's new. I'm glad it changed, because what I said was just purely wrong."

Zzzzz. The pendant in his hand suddenly vibrated, buzzing into life. The gorgeous "秦"(Qin) symbol lit a scarlet red hue.

{Your parents are not ordinary Warriors kid. Axonns like that old guy would have been eliminated with just a glance!} A familiar, old voice sounded in his ears.

Atlas s.h.i.+fted his head, cautiously examining the surrounding.

{Really? You forgot about my existence in less than a week? Too engrossed with your girlfriend?} The voice joked Atlas once again. Atlas heard the source this time.

It came from the golden pendant in his hand. A distant yet very close voice.
