4 Spirit Eyes

Xiao Tian casually introduced himself, feeling a bit weird in his heart when he addressed himself as 11 years old. That being said, it was not as though he could tell them the truth about his reincarnation, as it would only make him look crazy.

However, his father, Xiao Long, was not satisfied with such a half-a.s.sed introduction and demanded him to redo it, "What kind of rubbish introduction is that, Xiao Tian?! Do it again!"

Xiao Tian glanced at him and rolled his eyes, which caused flames to spew from Xiao Long's eyes.

Song Wei raised his hands and looked at Xiao Long and spoke in a calm voice, "It's fine — I don't like long and boring introductions, anyway."

He then returned his attention back to Xiao Tian, and he continued to speak, "Young one, have you made any contract with a Spirit, yet?"

"I tried Spirit Summoning for the first time yesterday, but unfortunately, I was unable to make any contracts," Xiao Tian spoke the truth.

"Hmm…" Song Wei's eyes narrowed at Xiao Tian with a pondering gaze.

"This young one… even though he says that he doesn't have a Spirit, why do I sense a spiritual aura within him?" he wondered inwardly.

Although Song Wei did not have the ability to see whether Xiao Tian was lying or not without forcing him, Song Wei had an instinctual feeling that Xiao Tian had a Spirit when he first saw him.

"Even though you did not succeed, you are still young. There's no need to worry about something so insignificant." Song Wei said in hopes to raise his confidence a little.

Xiao Tian merely nodded before turning around to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Xiao Long quickly asked him.

"I have already introduced myself so I'm leaving." Xiao Tian casually responded.

"You—!" Xiao Long was red to the point where he could already taste blood in his mouth; he was on the verge of coughing up blood from anger.

Meanwhile, the children of the Song Clan looked at Xiao Tian with wide eyes. They were all thinking to themselves what an interesting and unrestrained fellow he was to act such a way when in front of this many important individuals.

"Dear... try to remain calm…" Xiao Tian's mother placed her hands on Xiao Long's hands and tried to calm his anger.

Xiao Long resisted his urge to beat Xiao Tian and remained seated.

"I apologize for his unruly behavior," he said to the Song Clan.

Song Wei shook his head and said, "Such an interesting fellow, there's no need for you to apologize. In fact, he has piqued my interest the most out of everybody today."

"What…?" Xiao Long stared at him with a dumbfounded expression.

Xiao Tian has impressed him with his undisciplined behavior? Even more than his other children, who acted with elegance and respect? Ridiculous!

Even the other children of the Xiao Clan couldn't help but curse at Song Wei in their heart upon hearing his words — especially since they have tried so hard to impress him this morning.

However, unbeknownst to them, Song Wei disdained those who act entirely different from their real selves when in front of others, as he could easily see through such facades, which is precisely why Xiao Tian, who acted true to his character, piqued his interest more than his siblings.

Once Xiao Tian left the scene, one of the children from the Song Clan spoke out loud, "Father, may I excuse myself from this event?"

"Yu'er?" Song Wei looked at his youngest daughter with a puzzled face and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Song Yu pointed to where Xiao Tian left and said, "I want to speak with that boy named Xiao Tian."

"..."

The place instantly turned silent, and even Song Wei looked at her with a dazed expression.

His youngest daughter has taken an interest in another individual besides her own Spirit? It shocked not just her parents but her siblings, too.

Song Wei turned to look at Xiao Long in a stiff movement, "I hope you won't mind my daughter's absence," he said.

"A… Absolutely not…" Xiao Long responded in a dazed voice.

A few moments later, after Song Yu received Song Wei's approval, with disbelief in their wide eyes, everybody there watched Song Yu leave her seat — then the area.

After Song Yu left the place, the atmosphere there became awkward, as both parties were surprised by Song Yu's actions.

Inside the library at the Xiao Clan's manor, Xiao Tian casually flipped through the pages on a book regarding Spirits.

Ever since he was reborn into this world, Xiao Tian has spent the majority of his time inside this decently sized library to learn more about the current generation and the Human Realm in general.

Because he had spent pretty much all of his life inside the Spirit Realm in his previous life, he knows little to nothing about the Human Realm. And knowing nothing about the place he will be living in from now on will only become problematic in the future, hence why held back on cultivating and focused on studying first.

For ten and a half years, ever since he could walk, Xiao Tian has spent nearly every day inside this library studying. And after so many years of reading, he managed to read all of the books in this place not just once but more than two times, as there were always things that he'd missed by accident.

And in the midst of his reading, the door suddenly opened, and Song Yu walked inside with a nonchalant expression.

Xiao Tian closed the book and turned to look at her, waiting for her to speak.

"h.e.l.lo, Xiao Tian. I am called Song Yu, the youngest daughter of the Song Clan," Song Yu introduced herself as she casually approached him until she was right beside him.

After her introduction, Xiao Tian merely nodded his head in silence, acknowledging her.

"Since I came here seeking you, I will go straight to the point — why did you lie just now?" Song Yu asked him with narrowed eyes.

"...I don't know what you are talking about." Xiao Tian responded, his expression still calm.

Song Yu smiled and said, "I knew that you'd deny it, but hear me out. I was born with a pair of unique eyes that allows me to see things normal humans cannot…"

Xiao Tian raised an eyebrow at her words, wondering to himself why she was telling him all of this.

Song Yu suddenly pointed to her eyes, which flickered with profound lights, and continued to speak, "The books that I have read called it 'Spirit Eyes', and it has the ability to see the Spirit of anyone that comes into view."

Xiao Tian narrowed his eyes slightly, but he remained quiet.

"That being said, I cannot see exactly what type of Spirit you have — only whether or not you have a Spirit. It's quite an amazing ability, right?"

"Yes, it's quite an interesting pair of eyes, but why are you telling me this?" Xiao Tian could already guess her reason for being there, but he still asked.

"Because no normal 11-year-old kid would ever lie about not succeeding in a Spirit Summoning, something that every human being should be proud of! Tell me, Xiao Tian. Why did you lie to my father? Does your family know about the Spirit that resides in your body?" Song Yu continued to stare at Xiao Tian with eyes of interest, almost like she'd just found herself a new toy.
