161 Oolacile Town Of Sticky Slime Monsters.

Reima "Do you need something?" he asks as her pace slows as she gets closer.

Ciaran "You've slain Artorias... Ah, forgive me... I am Ciaran of the Lord's blade, former companion of the now deceased Knight Artorias."

Reima nods at her and introduces himself, "Reima Ludvig, Witcher."

Ciaran "... Forgive me for being presumptuous but could you perhaps part with Artorias soul? You would not leave empty handed were you to provide me this kindness."

Reima eyes her for a moment, she seems a lot more sincere then in the game... He kind of feels like an a.s.s hole as he intends to refuse her request... "I am sorry but there is another I intend to give this to, they're probably more distraught about Artorias death than even you."

Ciaran looks confused for a moment before speaking up again, "Who? I know not the person you speak of."

He chuckles, "Probably because they aren't a "Person", but a faithful companion known as Sif."

Her eyes widen at this, "Sif lives? Sir Ludvig do you know the location of Sif?"

Reima nods, "He's trapped in the Abyss, his only protection being Knight Artorias Great s.h.i.+eld... I intend to save him along with a wayward princess."

... She mutters to herself for a long while until finally coming to a decision.

Ciaran "Would you mind if I accompanied you? I didn't have the strength to save Artorias, I definitely do not have the strength to breach the Abyss alone."

... Is it worth actually taking her along? It's probably going to be a pain in the a.s.s fighting off hordes of corrupted undead, let alone the mages Reima knows will be flinging a barrage of spells at him. He eventually nods his head at Ciaran, "I'm not a babysitter, I cannot protect you but if you still wish to come with me, do so at your own peril." She stoically nods before quickly running to where Artorias had fallen and starts sc.r.a.ping stones together into a small shrine, she retrieves a small bag from her belt and starts decorating it with flowers. Reima had the decency to let her finish before they head off into the towns.h.i.+p of Oolacile.

The next day or so is a blur to Reima as soon as the duo set foot into the dreadful city they were under a.s.sault from a veritable army of disgusting mutated creatures, most had bloated heads caked in dried blood and horrifically mutated faces that held numerous glowing red eyes. The city itself was also covered in the Abyssal corruption making it harder than it should have been to even move without falling to their doom, let alone progress into the depths of the city.

Ciaran was an unexpected boon, as Reima was dealing with the front line a.s.sault she was moving like a shadow while a.s.sa.s.sinating any mages trying to shoot dark magic at them, he even had trouble keeping track of her as she was so effective at keeping hidden. He looted quite a few things but nothing substantial as the majority of the important building of the city had collapsed into the Abyss below. He did however find two scrolls that used to house custom Sorceries, however it seems the Abyss isn't just able to corrupt biological matter as the ink had almost faded away only to be replaced by the bluish/black goop written into weird spell formulae... Translating them quickly made them vaguely readable, Dark Orb and Dark Fog, Cairan demanded they be burned and destroyed but Reima refused, whether or not these spells came from the Abyss doesn't affect how effective they are... Obviously he'll research their formulae and effects further in private to make sure he isn't indirectly corrupting the world when using them.

The duo isn't really given time to speak to one another due to the constant attacks of the creatures, Reima doesn't really know whether or not to be happy about that... He had just killed the woman's lover after all... What was the saying? h.e.l.l hath no fury like a woman scorned? Hopefully it doesn't apply to widows.

After fighting for what seems like days they eventually descend into the underground prison, as they walk through the hallways the tentacles of Abyssal goop seems to increase they get closer to the progenitor of them. They find a cell at the end of the hallway that's been completely demolished which opens up into a huge cavern, the only things visible are the black figures with glowing white outlines, humanity sprites?

Ciaran growls, "Humanity, won't they ever stop causing pain and misery wherever they go."

Reima shrugs, "As a human I can safely say probably not." she glances at him weirdly.

Ciaran "No, you can't be human... You're a demon of some sort, your eyes give you away."

He sighs, while this is a common occurrence due to the uniqueness of his features he wishes some people would just ignore it... Maybe he should invest in some sun gla.s.ses? "I'm human, my eyes are a result of my upbringing and training... Don't worry about offending me though, I think I hate humanity as much as you do... Despite us both being part of them." He raises an eyebrow at her, she is definitely human, no doubt about that... Although as Lord Gwyn's elite she may have inherited a small portion of his soul, like how Artorias, Ornstein and Smough display "lord/G.o.d-like" differences.

She seems to growl but doesn't respond, maybe she's in denial about her own race?
