3 Coming Home

Eerie cries and crying was heard in the distance.

"Father." Corin's voice came out breathless.

He glanced at Alroy who was already sprinting a head, his muscly arms and legs showing no age at his runs with is regal white-grey fur cloak flapping in the wind.

Darick cursed next to him as he followed their fathers lead, doing his best to keep his shorter legs at the same pace. His own camouflage-green fur cloak billowing in the air.

Corin ran not far behind. His sprints halted when his path was cut off by burning wood beams that fell before his path.

"Keep going! I'll find a way around."

Darick acknowledged with a nod and continued to follow Alroy.

Off-worldly shrieking (drawing a primeval energy) hit him from a mud lane he knew led to his fiance and the blacksmith.

"Hannah!" He raced through the lane's amorphous darkness and was knocked back by a hard punch.

Fortunately it was by force of a human hand.

"Ha!" Maniacal laughter a.s.saulted his ears, along with another punch.

"Ceangail fid" Corin cried out to the enemy soldier kicking him to the ground.

The soldier fell backwards as he found himself unmovable.

Corin quickly observed an all white uniform from the no collar neckline to lack up boots. The soldier's arms were wrapped with the silver binds and crest of an East Clan. His head was hidden underneath a bra.s.s horn helmet stamped with the mark of the Vorn. A powerful clan that was building an empire for itself with invasion and conquest. Many rumours had travelled into the West about the Vorn's leader being an insatiable demon.

"Break!" Corin heard the soldier cry out that removed his bind.

He removed his short swords in time to block the soldier's longsword attack.

"Gu luath!" Corin whispered a spell that wrapped his limbs with rings of bluish light that made his attack moves faster.

He danced around the solider's clumsy attacks and landed a killing blow to his enemy.

His mind returned his destination. Hannah's image hung about his thoughts, making his sprints harder for the Smithy.
