Chapter 313

Ling Yun halted his footsteps upon entering the death gate.

The current cave was much smaller than the one they had just exited. It could only accommodate two people standing side by side. Ling Yun even had to bend slightly.

A smoldering concentration of Dark Yin Qi engulfed Ling Yun's body. It pierced through to his bones. He s.h.i.+vered.

The volume of the Dark Yin Qi was definitely enough. However, it was still lacking in purity.

Gooseb.u.mps formed on Little White as she felt the rich amount of Dark Yin Qi. The nine-tailed celestial fox focused her eyes towards the front, vigilantly watching for any signs of danger lurking in the depths of the cave.

Little White nudged Ling Yun's legs with her soft body and bit the corner of Ling Yun's clothes desperately. She tried to persuade him to turn back.

“Don't be afraid. We are already here. We have to enter, even if it's a lion's den!” Ling Yun gave Little White a rea.s.suring smile as he curbed his desire to absorb the Dark Yin Qi.

“Flap flap flap…” Sounds of birds flapping their wings rang through as Ling Yun's voice disturbed the silence.

“Let's go!”

Ling Yun had steel nails in his left hand and the Emperor Brush in his right. He began to venture forward in the absolute darkness at normal speed.

Ling Yun had encountered so many monsters since he had entered the crater. That had only been at the outer rim of the Yin Yang Dragon Lock Spell. His aim was the center of the spell. He would seriously be courting death if he wasn't cautious.

The next thirty meters were uneventful. Ling Yun arrived at a wider part of the cave after the narrow part ended.

He took the chance to realign himself and took the path to the right with Little White.

The temperature dropped drastically by ten degrees. His keen senses told him that there was an unmistakable murderous intent in the Dark Yin Qi fog.

Ling Yun had full confidence in his intuition.

Follow closely behind me. Be careful! Ling Yun finally used telepathy to converse with Little White.

There was no need to remind Little White. Foxes were cautious by nature.

Fortunately, Ling Yun's eyes had adapted well to the darkness. He could see clearly up to seven or eight meters.

The cave was cold and dry. The silence was creepy.

The cave became more s.p.a.cious and the roof became higher. Ling Yun could no longer see the roof of the cave when he lifted his head.

Whoosh.

A black shadow scurried across the path about ten meters ahead of them. Ling Yun squinted and deduced it to be a big rat.

Then, the rat was devoured by dozens of black shadow swooping down at lightning speed.

Ling Yun winced at the faint smell of blood. He hugged his body tightly against the wall and beckoned to Little White. Little White followed suit immediately.

“There are things on the roof. Let's dash through this segment quickly!”

Ling Yun didn't want to provoke these unknown creatures if he could help it.

Ling Yun used his Thousand Miles G.o.dly Steps and sprinted a few dozen meters. Little White chased after him like a white lightning.

Ling Yun noticed some bones scattered around on the ground. Thankfully, they were only animal bones. There were no human corpses around.

Ling Yun had thought that they were safe since they weren't attacked. He paused when he wanted to see what was in the route ahead before moving forward.

He couldn't have been more wrong. Numerous flapping sounds filled the cave when he stopped. Ling Yun shouted for Little White to run ahead!

The black shadow dived at him like a sharp arrow. In his hurry, Ling Yun shot a steel nail at it and it dropped to the ground. He stole a quick glance. It was a black bat.

This black bat lay sprawled on the floor. It was the size of a palm leaf. Ling Yun recognized it as a vampire bat. Usually, a colony of such bats would hang upside down from the roofs of dark caves. The were carnivorous and they hunted in groups. They were absolutely terrifying.

“F*ck, I was most afraid of meeting these sorts of things!” Ling Yun's worries came true. He saw the bats swooping down in unison like a huge black cloth. He used his Dragon Fish Phantom Ability to travel twenty meters ahead while constantly shooting nails towards the roof.

The bats were easy to kill, but there were too many of them. There could be tens of thousands of them. Tragic death awaited Ling Yun if he were to be trapped by them!

“Little White, stay close!” Ling Yun shouted. He gave up on the steel nails and took out the Fire Talisman instead. He deployed them as he ran forward!

These vampire bats circled the air above them like a dense black net filling the entire cave. Ling Yun and Little White were constantly ambushed!

Ling Yun used seven or eight Fire Talismans with each deployment. They became flames the size of basketb.a.l.l.s and cooked the vampire bats!

However, there were way too many of them blocking his path. After a few hundred Fire Talismans, Ling Yun had only advanced by two hundred meters.

“Si Si…” Ling Yun swept the vampire bats off of Little White and charged forward!

The flames served another purpose. It lit up the cave and allowed Ling Yun to gain some insight about his surroundings. He realized the cave was more than thirty meters high and was about the size of two football fields. The walls were littered with countless black bats!

They were right in the middle of the cave!

Ling Yun knew that they were reaching their destination soon. He forced the vampire bats off with another Fire Talisman and took the chance to find a viable route.

“Through that stone door!” Ling Yun singled out a black stone door in the distance. He picked Little White up with his left hand and hurried towards it!

It was really a b.l.o.o.d.y path! Ling Yun didn't know how many vampire bats he had killed in the two hundred meters!

Ling Yun's back was now a meat wall full of bats! He fended off the bats with the Emperor Brush fiercely!

He had used a whole five minutes to get to the stone door. To his disappointment, the door didn't budge when he kicked it!

Ling Yun could only place Little White on the ground. He turned around and slammed his whole body into the stone door. He threw another handful of Fire Talismans, which burned the incoming bats to death!

Ling Yun used this chance to take a look around. He couldn't find the mechanism to open the door since there were too many bats!

Little White was also sweeping away the bats that flew towards endlessly. Bodies of dead bats had piled up in front of them, but that didn't stop the bats from attacking.

Ling Yun quickly used another fistful of Fire Talismans to clear the walls beside the stone door. His sharp eyes found a stone b.u.t.ton immediately!

“Let's go in!” Ling Yun slammed his palm onto that stone b.u.t.ton. A low mechanical sound came from beneath, and the door opened.

They had to go in even if it was dangerous. It was far better than succ.u.mbing to these bats!

“Little White, get in!” Ling Yun and Little White got in and found another switch by the door!

Ling Yun pressed it quickly and the stone door closed up gradually. A few hundred bats followed them in.

Ling Yun fished out another set of Fire Talismans and used the Shower of the Flowers Technique to hit the bats. He took care of the rest of the bats with the steel nails.

Ling Yun then took out a Fire Talisman to carefully observe his surroundings and to check his status.

“This is f*cking disgusting!” Ling Yun was covered in sticky smelly bat blood. His body was unharmed. but his clothes were tattered.

Ling Yun took off all his dirty clothes and his shoes. He then took out a few bottles of mineral water from the spatial ring and washed himself before changing into his last set of clean clothes.

Ling Yun regretted deeply that he hadn't created some Water Talismans. He had banked on the river.

Ling Yun was rea.s.sured that Little White was not hurt after receiving a positive response from her.

He took out two spirit forming talismans and replenished his spiritual energy. Ling Yun then headed to the center of the cave. A huge coffin lay in the middle!
