278 Rise In Rank

Considering that Steve had stayed on the eighth level for such a long time and did not progress any further, the gap between him and Steve was now only three levels away. This gave Stuart confidence that he would soon surpa.s.s Steve and become the top recruit again.

Just then, Stuart could hear cheers...

"Look! Steve pa.s.sed the 19th level!"

"Oh my G.o.d! How on earth did he do it?"

"It's not logical! His basic cell value exceeds 480 points!!"

"If this goes on, it is likely that he will rise to the top 10!"

"A recruit joining the top 10 in his first month?! It's unimaginable!"

Stuart was still feeling complacent just a moment ago, as if he had Steve right under his feet. However, when he heard the crowd's exclamations, he was stunned.

That's impossible! They must be referring to another Steve that I don't know! Stuart thought. After all, there were many people named Steve.

But, when he saw Steve's soldier ID on the list, he was shocked and exclaimed, "It's really him! No! It's impossible... It's impossible to... He's a recruit like me..."

Stuart was shocked. This left a great impact on him as he always thought that he could catch up with Steve and seek revenge. But, now that Steve had joined the top 10, it was difficult for Stuart to accept this reality.

It turned out that Steve had evolved into someone who he could only look up to. Although Stuart was unwilling to accept this, he was helpless to change it.

By this time, Steve had reached the 20th level of the Original Gravity Tower. The basic cell value of all of the magical beasts in that level was above 490 points.

As such, it was not easy for Steve to pa.s.s through the 19th level. So, when facing the challenge of the 20th level, Steve was not very confident.

"Congratulations to soldier Steve, who has reached the 20th level. Next, we have the challenge of the 20th level. Please kill 50 Iron Demon Scorpions in 30 minutes. Good luck to you!" The announcement of the Original Gravity Tower echoed in the air.

Steve then shouted, "Fifty!"

His previous trainings were all based on killing 10 magical beasts, with their basic cell values corresponding to the specific level. The Iron Demon Scorpion was a magical beast with a basic cell base value of 490 points. As such, even 10 of them would be unimaginable to handle, not to mention 50 of them!

Hiss…

In the vast desert, many dark red Iron Demon Scorpions crawled out. They were each only as big as a fist, but their defense was stronger than the ordinary magical beasts of the same level.

Because of their small size, they could move very quickly. When they sensed danger, they would hide themselves in the sand. This made it tricky to kill them.

They were also very poisonous. Once infected by them, human beings would die immediately.

By this time, 50 Iron Demon Scorpions had surrounded Steve, looking at him hungrily, as if he was their prey. Looking at the Iron Demon Scorpions approaching, Steve took out a bottle of serum.

He then said, "Looks like it's time to use this!"

This bottle of serum was the second type of serum that Steve had developed. It could enhance one's brain cell activation. The first type of serum that he had developed was able to a.s.sist in training and enhance one's spiritual power.

But that was just Steve's guess. In reality, it was still unclear to Steve how exactly the serum would work, or whether it would even work at all! But in this case, he could only give it a try!
